Hate Story 2 does well, 9 cr in 2 days; Pizza-Amit Sahni Ki List poor

HATE STORY 2 had a good first day with collections likely to come in
the 4.50-4.75 crore nett range. The film had morning collections which
suggested a 3 crore nett opening day but multiplexes managed to pick up
after the morning shows.
The single screens had started off better but many places could have even better if it was not for Ramadan. East Punjab was best as it grossed a huge 77 lakhs nett and there is very little Ramadan affect in this circuit. Delhi/UP was around 1 crore nett while Rajasthan was 30 lakhs nett approx.
The film may drop on day two as single screens where the bulk of the business is coming from will drop but the film is on course to be a winner as the multiplexes have performed very well for this type of film.
The opening day is the the 13th biggest of the year and is better than bigger films like HASEE TOH PHASEE, BHOOTHNATH RETURNS, HIGHWAY and DEDH ISHQIYA. HATE STORY released in 2012 had grossed around 2 crore nett on day one and the sequel has more than doubled the collections as the first film only did decent business at single screens. But HATE STORY 2 has fared well at single screens and has decent numbers at multiplexes.

HATE STORY 2 did well on Saturday as it collected in the 4.25 crore nett plus range. The film saw a good jump at multiplexes but single screens fell and that is where most of the business was coming from. Still the drop was limited. The first two days business is as follows.
Friday - 4,85,00,000
Saturday 4.25-4.50,00,000
TOTAL 9.10-9.35,00,000
The film is the surprise success of the year and it could cover its costs from the theatrical business alone though not much comes from other revenue sources for these type of films.
HATE STORY 2 looks set to comfortably cross the 15 crore nett mark for the weekend which would be mean it has comfortably crossed the lifetime business of HATE STORY in just three days.

PIZZA and AMIT SAHNI KI LIST had low first days and depend on what they can do on Saturday and Sunday. There were other releases like AAJ KA FASHION TREND, BAZAAR-E-HUSN and RIYASAT all of which released on limited theatres and hardly any collections.
