Aditi Rao Hydari's maternal
grandfather Rameshwara was the Raja of Wanaparthy J, a principality of
Hyderabad. He was influenced by the socialist movement and became the
first raja to give up his title. Nehruji was extremely fond of him and
he was elected to the Lok Sabha many times. Her great grandfather from
her father's side, Sir Akhbar Hydari, was the Prime Minister of the
Nizam of Hyderabad and was instrumental in setting up the Osmania
University. While her parents separated when she was just two years
old, she certainly has royalty running through her blood from both her
parents. It therefore was no surprise to us when we learnt that in the
remake of the 1980 cult film Khubsoorat, the director, Shashanka Ghosh,
has got the khoobsurat Aditi to do a cameo, where she plays a princess
supposedly engaged to the hero of the film, Fawad Khan.
