Sajid Khan began his career as a director with Akshay Kumar and worked on three films back-to-back with him — Heyy Babyy (2007) Housefull (2010) and Housefull 2 (2012). After three films with the Khiladi, he did a film with Ajay Devgn — Himmatwala (2013). After three successes, this one flopped. But instead of returning to Akshay, he approached Saif Ali Khan for his next — Humshakals.

Now that the film is complete and the promos are out, it is learnt that the director is planning his next film again with Saif. Says an industry source, “Saif will do another film with Sajid after Humshakals. UTV has signed Sajid for the same at a whopping price. The script has not yet been finalised.”

Says a source close to the actor, “Saif and Sajid will be the next dream team. They are fantastic together and share a whacky sense of humour. Saif will be on a high after this film. Sajid has got great performances from him and Riteish (Deshmukh). It’s no surprise that they will be working together. They both enjoyed working with each other and it’s only natural to continue that working relationship. Also, Saif is tired of doing action/thriller movies. He wants to do more comedy films.”

So does this mean that it’s the new beginning in the Saif-Sajid friendship. Has Saif replaced Akshay in Sajid’s life?
