Playing mom comes easily to younger actresses on television. And in most cases, they get typecast and are offered similar roles in films.

A case in point is Indira Krishnan. The actress, who last played a saas in telly show Firangi Bahu, will now be seen as Sonakshi Sinha's mother in a yet-to-release film.

She says, “I don't have problems playing Sonakshi's mom, because our eyes and features also match. Also, mother roles will give me a longer shelf life - I will be around even after 20 years."

Does she have a dream role? “I have always wanted to play a negative character, but once you play a mother, masses accept you in that way forever," the actress points out.

Indira is also getting ready to play a mom in two more films. She will be seen as Satya Manjrekar's (Mahesh Manjrekar's son) mother in a Marathi film and in Ganesh Acharya's untitled film.
