The upcoming comedy
Humshakals is the first time a Hindi film will have three male leads
playing triple roles. The three Ashoks, Kumars and Mamajis will
be essayed by actors known for their comic timing - Saif Ali Khan,
Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor. No wonder the tagline
promises nine times the fun.
Saif, who has done comedy in films before, was apparently clear that he wanted his first full mass comedy to be special. So, when director Sajid Khan approached him, he immediately said yes. Riteish has already worked with Sajid in successful films like Heyy Babyy, Housefull and Housefull 2. Even though Sajid and Ram haven't worked together, their friendship goes back 20 years when Ram was a student in Los Angeles.
The three men are complemented by the three beauties -Bipasha Basu, Tamannaah Bhatia and Esha Gupta. With such a cast, Sajid has ensured that the film looks spectacular on screen. Says a source, “He waited for six months to secure permission to shoot his film at Chatsworth House at Derbyshire in England, where Keira Knightley and Sir Anthony Hopkins had shot for The Wolfman. It's the first time a Hindi film has been shot there. Prior to this, Sajid had recceed 40 such locations in England and Scotland.“
Humshakals, produced by Vashu Bhagnani and presented by Fox Star Studios, releases June 20.
