CITYLIGHTS and KUKU MATHUR KI JHAND HO GAYI could not do much at the box-office as both films were below the 1 crore nett mark. CITYLIGHTS was the best of the two but that is not really important with collections so low.

The collections for CITYLIGHTS will come in less than 75 lakhs nett while KUKU MATHUR KI JHAND HO GAYI will be under 50 lakhs nett. There is not much the films can do unless the double up on Saturday and Sunday but that is a tall feat and hardly ever happens.

The above scenario may just pull through in case of CITYLIGHTS but for KUKU MATHUR KI JHAND HO GAYI even doubling up will not make it go far. The collections of HEROPANTI and even X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST were better than both films. Meanwhile in Punjab, MUNDEYAN TON BACHKE RAHIN had much better collections than the Hindi films.

HEROPANTI continues its good run on its eight day with collections around the 2 crore nett mark. The film was aided by the new releases being dull. HEROPANTI in fact collected much more even if we combine the first day business of CITYLIGHTS and KUKU MATHUR KI JHAND HO GAYI.

The film is now on course to go over 50 crore nett which will be the second time that the collections of a new lead pair will go to 50 crore nett. The first was STUDENT OF THE YEAR but that had a budget similar to biggies.

HEROPANTI will emerge the fifth or sixth biggest nett grosser of the year but its distributor share is likely to be fourth highest beating likes of QUEEN and MAIN TERA HERO.

Lastly, 2 STATES added a little bit more business in its sixth week and will finish at around 101.5-102 crore nett.
