Amitabh Bachchan has apparently done a guest appearance in a Telegu film called Manam. The actor did the role upon actor Nagarjuna’s request.
Says a source, “An upcoming Telugu comedy drama, directed by Vikram Kumar, the film stars the late Nageswara Rao, his son Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya along with Shriya Saran and Samantha in lead roles. Amitabh Bachchan has done a cameo in the film because Nagarjuna had called and requested him to be a part of the project. He didn’t even charge the makers any fee for his appearance.”
The source adds that the film is a period drama that spans a period of 100 years — from 1920 to 2020. The film — its dialogues have been written by Harshavardan and Anoop Rubens is working on the music — draws from the concept of eternal love and it also dwells on a reincarnation angle. Nageswara Rao plays a 90-year-old man in it,” says the source.
Principal shooting of Manam began on June 7 last year. This will be the last film of Nageswara Rao, who died in January 2014, and son Nagarjuna wants the film to be a tribute. Amitabh Bachchan apparently shot for his cameo at Filmistaan studio in Mumbai.
When contacted, Big B confirmed the news.
