We reported a few days back how Vishal Bhardwaj has been invited to direct a play at Paris’s Chatelet theatre. We have now learnt that Vishal has also been invited to convert his film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola into a Broadway-style musical at the same theatre. What’s interesting is that this musical will be in Hindi with English subtitles flashed on the screen. And while Vishal will be casting afresh for the musical, as he needs singers who can go live on stage, he plans to retain Pankaj Kapur from his original cast, as Pankajji, in addition to being a great actor, is also a great singer.
