Though official sources at Fox Star India still maintain that Siddharth Anand’s Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif’s action-fantasy Bang Bang is being released on October 2, as per schedule, unofficial sources claim it is an impossible deadline to meet. So impossible that Viacom 18 has confidently moved forward to announce the release of their Mary Kom bio-pic starring Priyanka Chopra on October 2.

A source close to Mary Kom unit says, “We enquired internally from Fox Star. We were told they were desperate to meet the October 2 deadline. But there is no way they can actually make it on that Friday without compromising drastically on quality. Bang Bang requires a whole lot of special effects and post-production is moving slow. We are very sure that it won’t release on October 2. And that is why we’ve announced Mary Kom for that date.”

However, a source from Fox Star says, “We’re shooting and editing Bang Bang simultaneously. We are definitely not moving out.” But a member of the Mary Kom team says, “There is no way Bang Bang can make it before the end of the year.” However, PC will still have to fight it out with Kat as on October 2, the latter’s other film with Saif Ali Khan (Phantom) directed by Kabir Khan, will be released.

Kabir says, “We are releasing on  schedule on October 2. I don’t know about other films.”
