One has learnt from trade sources that Zoya Akhtar was keen to offer Tabu a stellar role in her film Dil Dhadakne Do. The movie, which is about a Punjabi dysfunctional family, has Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra playing siblings.

 Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit-Nene were also reportedly on the wish list for the role. However, the same source indicates that way back in October 2013, Tabu had politely declined the part. Yet, speculation about her presence in the project continues. The fact of the matter is that the actress’ next film is with Manoj Bajpayee, which kicks off this month end. In the meantime, we will wait for Zoya to tell us who her final choice for the role is.
