Here are a few shots of Priyanka Chopra in and as Mary Kom taken in a boxing ring specially erected in Film City. PeeCee packed some punches with trained boxers hired by producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Having wrapped up the indoor shoot, the crew will now be heading to the North for an outdoor schedule.

When contacted, Mary Kom’s director, Omung Kumar said: “I thought shooting the boxing sequences would be pretty daunting and was apprehensive as a biopic on a female boxer had never been attempted before. But the trained boxers made the process easy. And whenever there was a technical hitch, Mary Kom was always a call away and would drop in to supervise.”

His thoughts on the leading lady? “I’m really impressed. Priyanka’s physical transformation will surprise everybody.”
