Arjun lost his mother Mona Kapoor to cancer exactly two years ago on March 25. While Arjun is currently shooting for Tevar in Agra, he returns to Mumbai tomorrow on his mother’s second death anniversary. During a conversation with us, we were touched when Arjun told us how he would have loved his mother to be alive to see that he was the hero of 2 States. Arjun lived with his mother Mona and sister Anshula in Juhu where he still continues to stay today. His mother’s room has been kept just the way it was when she left him and among other things in her room is the 2 States book which she had read. His mother had been detected with cancer soon after he signed his first film Ishaqzaade and so while Arjun shot the film, she went through her chemotherapy sessions. It was just once that she was able to visit him on his set at Lucknow for two days when she expressed to him her wish of seeing him in a sweet romcom. While Mona may not physically be with Arjun today, he feels the presence of his mother inside him every single moment. And the two physical memories that remain intact are Mona’s room and 2 States kept on top of her shelf. We are sure she will be smiling somewhere up there seeing her son not just do a romcom but a romcom that was her favourite.
