Ever since its inception in India in 2008, Fox Star Studios seems to have cracked the code and found what it takes to compete in the subcontinent entertainment market. Not only does the production house have A-listers Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Emraan Hashmi, Arjun Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Vidya Balan in its ventures, it also has as many as 28 film releases lined up next year — nine Bollywood, 15 Hollywood and four Tamil films. And, the studio is currently readying for the Saif Ali Khan starrer Bullett Raja, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Speaking about their Hindi line-up, Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, says, “The studio is making a strong statement about scaling up and becoming a key player in the Hindi film industry and at the same time, working with diverse talent cutting across genres.”
Besides cracking deals with old associates like Vishesh Films and Amole Gupte, the company has also forged new alliances with Pooja Entertainment and Films Ltd, Phantom Films, Illuminati Films and Endemol India. “Our partnerships are a testimony to the fact that we have used our strength not only in creativity, distribution and marketing, but also sustaining business relationships and creating new ones. There is definitely a lot to look forward to in 2014,” says Singh.
