Ungli collects 14.50 cr in Week 1; Zid 5.50 cr

UNGLI grossed a very poor 14.50 crore nett its first week. The collections were lower than RAJA NATWARLAL that releases earlier this year and also lower than other recent Emraan Hashmi box office flops like SHANGHAI, EK THI DAAYAN and GHANCHAKKAR. The film will do 16-17 crore nett lifetime business which is a disaster for the film

ZID was not much better as it grossed around 5.50 crore nett in week one and despite it having a low budget the film is still going to be a loser.

The other release of the week was ZED PLUS and it was a disaster failing to even hit 50 lakhs nett in week one. All in all it meant the poor run since HAPPY NEW YEAR continued with the week having two box office disasters and a flop.

Ungli collects 5.65 cr in 2 days; Zid 2.05 cr

UNGLI and ZID are going nowhere at the box office as both failed to show any growth on Sunday. UNGLI was up in a few circuits but by very small amounts. The two day business of UNGLI is as follows.

Friday - 2,75,00,000
Saturday - 2,90,00,000
Total - 5,65,00,000

The two day business of ZID is as follows. The film dropped in single screens where opening was bit better and made slight gains at multiplexes where business is very dull
Friday - 1,05,00,000
Saturday - 1,00,00,000
Total - 2,05,00,000

Day 1: Ungli 2.75 cr; Zid 1.05 cr; Zed Plus 10 lacs

UNGLI grossed poorly on day one giving it little chance of box office success. The director's last film KURBAAN in 2009 had also fared poorly and the way UNGLI is going, it may not even reach the business of KURBAAN. The approx figures of the weeks releases are as follows.

Ungli - 2,75,00,000
Zid - 1,05,00,000
Zed Plus - 10,00,000

ZID fared slightly better in places like CP Berar, CI and Nizam but its business in multiplex dominated circuits was a disaster. ZED PLUS was very poor all over.

The business of HAPPY ENDING come down badly with its second Friday collections looking in the 25 lakh nett range.
