This second week should see the film close at around 45-46 crore nett. The best performance for the film has been at Gujarat, Maharashtra, CP Berar and Nizam area. The eastern markets of West Bengal, Bihar and Orissa have also done well. Mysore has under performed as Bangalore has not collected and although collections outside Bangalore in Mysore are good, Bangalore forms a huge chunk of the Mysore circuit. Dishkiyaoon-O Teri-Youngistaan poor over weekend; Ragini MMS 2-Queen steady

Box Office India Trade Network

DISHKIYAOON, O TERI and YOUNGISTAAN had awful weekends with YOUNGISTAAN being the best of the lot thanks to it's 3.90 crore nett weekend business. The collections were affected by the cricket on Sunday but as the films had such low collections it hardly amounted to anything. The combined total of the three films is not even 10 crore nett while the combined costs are around 75 crore. The approx daily collections for the weekend of all three films are as follows.

Dishkiyaoon
Friday - 1,20,00,000
Saturday - 1,10,00,000
Sunday - 1,20,00,000
Total - 3,50,00,000

O Teri
Friday - 70,00,000
Saturday - 75,00,000
Sunday - 80,00,000
Total - 2,25,00,000

Youngistaan
Friday - 1,05,00,000
Saturday - 1,35,00,000
Sunday - 1,50,00,000
Total - 3,90,00,000

RAGINI MMS 2 remained the top Hindi film despite being in its second week as it beat the collections of the new releases DISHKIYAOON, O TERI and YOUNGISTAAN. RAGINI MMS 2 grossed around 5 crore nett in its second weekend.

This takes the film to around 42 crore nett in ten days. The film could not show the growth in the second weekend that established films mainly due to the cricket match on Sunday which hit collections. Also the genre is front loaded.

The drop in the second weekend was around 78% and anything in the 75-80% range for a second weekend drop is par for the course going by the business patterns today. RAGINI MMS 2 has probably done 10% less than it should have as the cricket matches have hit the film on many days.
--------------------
QUEEN showed its biggest drop since it opened as the fourth weekend saw a drop of 50%. The film grossed around 3.50 crore nett in its fourth weekend taking the four week business to 54.24 crore nett. The film will cross the business of KAHAANI released in 2012 which was around 58 crore nett.

QUEEN was also released on less screens than KAHAANI. KAHAANI was released on 1100 screens on release while Queen had a 800 screen release.. The business of QUEEN till date is as follows.
Week One - 18,54,00,000
Week Two - 20,13,00,000
Week Three - 12,07,00,000
Fourth Weeeknd - 3,50,00,000 approx

TOTAL - 54,24,00,000

DISHKIYAOON, O TERI and YOUNGISTAAN continued there dismals run on Saturdays. The daily collections are like what medium budget films used to do ten years ago. YOUNGISTAAN saw the best trend on Friday which translated into a bit of growth on Saturday while DISHKIYAOON and O TERI remained more or less where they were on Friday. The approx first two day collections of all three films are as follows.

Dishkiyaoon
Friday - 1,20,00,000
Saturday - 1,10,00,000
Total - 2,30,00,000

O Teri
Friday - 70,00,000
Saturday - 75,00,000
Total - 1,45,00,000

Youngistaan

Dishkiyaoon-O Teri-Youngistaan poor on Day 1; worst Friday ever

Box Office India Trade Network

The new releases all did poor business on its first day and have nothing going for them. They may grow a little over the weekend but it will make no difference to their fates. All three films are big losers especially DISHKIYAOON which may have had the best collections but was also the costliest of the lot.

The approx first day estimates of the three films were as follows.
DISHKIYAOON 1.15-1.25 crore nett
YOUNGISTAAN  1-1.10  crore nett
O TERI 65-70 lakhs nett
--------------------------
This Friday can lay claim to the worst Friday ever as three new films released which have a combined cost of around 75 crore to produce and release and the first day was a total disaster for that sort of investment.

The three new releases DISHKIYAOON,  O TERI and YOUNGISTAAN all had such low openings that the combined opening day total will not even be 5 crore nett.

Its unlikely there has ever been a Friday where there is a 75 crore investment and the first day share for the producers/distributors is a horrid 2 crore at best from the domestic theatres. It does not get any better for the exhibitors who have allocated nearly 3500 screens for these three films and they will also see a 2 crore share at best. and it's this sector which has been bleeding over the last few months due to the drop in footfalls as caused by the lack of major releases.
