STREE had its first noticeable drop on Thursday but has done fantastic business of the week with around 59 crore nett. It is ahead of SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY and RAAZI though it has got ahead of the latter due to Janmashtami holiday on Monday. The numbers of the film are excellent in the Hindi belt be it UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, CP Berar and CI especially as the film does not face value.

The bigger cities are also very good but here many films do well without face value. Its when these films do the numbers in the heartland then they come out with very big numbers. The Friday number will decide where the film is going but it should be able to reach the 100 crore nett mark considering SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY reached the 100 crore nett mark and the first week was just 44.50 crore nett and this is already 14 crore nett plus ahead.

The collections are around 40% up from day one as the film raked up huge numbers in North, Central India and Gujarat where Janmashtami is a major holiday.

Sunday was excellent for STREE with mass centres showing very big growth. The film grossed 14 crore nett plus on Sunday.

The film has done excellent business across all multiplexes in India. The single screens are lower but still good for a film with limited face value. There is Janmashtami on Monday and it will be a strong hold and then Tuesday will tell what is the weekday level of this film.

STREE had a decent opening and gained momentum through the day and picked up 6.50-6.75 crore nett on day one which is a little better than the sleeper HIT of 2018 SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY. The genre has helped its cause as the genre has a reach outside the metros so even though the film is small and without much face value, it still manages to get a audience in the A centres like Lucknow, Jaipur, Surat etc.

The film has collected well all over and the first day ensures a successful film. The opening is the 12th highest of the year and if we look at the 30 crore or less films than it is the easily the highest as even films like SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY and RAAZI had costs going over 30 crore.

The opening day of the film reminds of FUKREY RETURNS last year which was a film in a similar zone though that film was an outright comedy instead of a horror comedy. The difference in collections between that film and STREE is the Delhi/UP and East Punjab belt where FUKREY RETURNS put up very big numbers.

YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA PHIR SE grossed poorly on day on at 1.50-1.75 crore nett which is well below the numbers of the last two films. The film has not done well anywhere and theatrically is going to have a big struggle. The film has very good non theatrical revenue with satellite at 27 crore and digital at 9 crore and that is probably why there was a third part of this franchise as the second part fared poorly.
