INDOO KI JAWANI was as expected had very low collections. The film
would have struggled in normal conditions and in these times it hardly
had a chance. The only hope was for a decent weekend trend but that did
not come as the film is not good.
The film collected around 60 lakhs nett over the weekend from a first
day being under 20 lakhs nett. The business came mainly form the big
chains as they collected around 40 lakhs nett. Considering the way
business is over the weekdays at the moment, the film will hardly do
1 crore nett business in the long run. In Overseas markets the film
collected $35k with $20k of this coming from the Gulf
TENET is doing decent business over the weekends. It had collected
around 4 crore nett over the first weekend and the second weekend has
grossed 2.75 crore nett which is a drop of 30%. The weekday business is
not good but at least some of the audience is coming in on the weekends.
The ten day business of TENET is 8.25 crore nett with 5.50 crore nett
in the first week and 2.75 crore nett in the second weekend.
The film has a huge contribution from the South with Tamil Nadu leading
the way. Mumbai and South are contributing over 80% of the all India
collections of the film with more than 60% coming from the South. The
film should now comfortably cross the 10 crore nett mark and if does not
come over the weekdays, it will surely come over the third weekend.

TENET did good business at the box office considering the Coronavirus pandemic
scenario and the fact that the India release is more than 3 months after
the initial release in North America and Europe. The film collected
around 4.25 crore nett over its first weekend.
The film did go up on each day over the weekend but not like a film for
the big metros would in normal times but this may be due to the pandemic
as all days saw business mainly done in advance while there was a
limited tickets being sold in current.
The best business for the film came in Mumbai and Bangalore which is as
expected and it remains to be seen how the film performs post the
weekend. TENET is the best performer so far since cinemas opened in
October and if it could get above that 10 crore nett mark, it would be a
good result.
The collections of TENET over the first weekend are as follows.
Friday - 1,20,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,40,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 1,60,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 4,20,00,000 apprx

TENET did pretty well on its first day considering the present
situation as it collected 1.10-1.20 crore nett. Its the best response we
have seen at the box office since reopening in October with business
down around 60-70% from a normal scenario. Generally, we have see
business down in the 90% region with other releases.
The turnout was not so strong on the day as half of the collection for the first day was in the advance itself but this was sort of expected as a higher ratio of the audience wanting to see the film would have bought tickets in advance. There were a many shows which had a turnout of 100 plus people with some IMAX screenings getting to the capacity which is permitted now.
The film is a niche film in terms of India and the target prior to release which would have been seen as a good result was double figure lifetime numbers so it remains to be seen if the film can get over the 10 crore nett mark in time. Normally for this type of film you would expect second day to show huge growth but we are in different times at the moment so its difficult to how the film will trend over the next week or so.
The film managed to sell 70000 apprx tickets on the first day which is not a big number but still good news for the ailing exhibition sector.
