I would like to pursue my Hollywood career further-Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri wants to take time out for auditions, but do Bollywood films as well
Upala KBR (DNA; June 23, 2016)
While Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have gone
to the US and bagged films, with Nargis Fakhri the case is quite the
opposite. This New Yorker came here to act. Then she bagged a Paul Feig
film -- Spy. After that, there has been nothing for over a year now.
Says Nargis, “My Hollywood career happened by accident. Like Rockstar just happened to me. I have been lucky to get such great breaks. I get a film (Spy) with one of the best directors in Hollywood and lovely character to start off with, it was a blockbuster summer hit. Who could ask for anything better? For Spy, Paul told me it was a small role and I was busy, but I was like ‘Hello, you are Paul Fieg and duhhh! I would be honoured to work with you’. Paul’s very shy, so he laughed. Then I did it. I am happy.”
She continues, “I would like to pursue my Hollywood career further. I have got some offers for audition opportunities but unfortunately, there were four Bollywood films to complete at that time. I don’t know let’s see… Maybe when Banjo comes out, I will take time out and go back home and then maybe do some auditions. I don’t want to leave Bollywood forever as I enjoy it too much but if I can do half-and-half, it would be a blessing. I think you just have to have patience and passion for the right opportunity to come to you because it takes a long time in any career.”
All my exes are still in love with me-Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri has grabbed attention with this
explosive line in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan. Looking hot and sexy
on the cover, the actress has revealed all in a candid interview with
the magazine. Here we present the excerpts...
“God bless the guy who invented Namaste”
Coming to India — total culture shock! At first, the language just sounded like ‘bada bada bada’ I didn’t know what the f**k I was saying! Rockstar was an absolute impulse move — and I think I did a bang-up job! I’d like to see someone else go to China, learn Chinese (and acting!) from scratch and be the female protagonist of the films. Anyone? Anyone? That’s what I thought. There are still things I haven’t come to terms with — I’ve developed wicked OCD in my time here; I don’t even shake hands with people! God bless the guy who invented Namaste!
“Why can’t I say Vagina?”
Marriage is such a biggie box to check, but sex is never up for open discussion. I mean, India’s so supremely over-populated. Where are all the babies coming from? Maybe if we talked about it, they’d stop popping out all the time! People have such a strong reaction to the word ‘vagina’, I’ve been told I can’t say it!
“I hate painting my face”
There’s always a lot of pressure to look good — and it’s harder for me, who loathes the whole hair-and-make-up thing (people fussing with your face and hair when it already looks fine is as bad as the sound of nails scraping against a blackboard! Is that making you cringe? Well now you know how I feel). I feel a lot of that is created by the corporate industry — we’re all terribly insecure, and they make products that feed off of that to make us buy more things.
“His life is not your life”
Currently, I’m mostly seeing myself— but when I find the guy I want to be with, first: I need him to have a brain. Next: a burning desire to travel — I dumped someone once because he didn’t travel enough! We’re still great friends, though. I’m friends with all my exes. They all still love me, and would totally marry me in a minute (and I’m just sitting here laughing at them).
“I wanna be a superhero”
The greatest career decision of my life just released — Spy — and my God, I loved it; from the way people work in Hollywood (like clockwork! Five minutes late, and I started getting calls), to the the fact that I got to do most of my own stunts (except the wildly dangerous ones). I adore fighting — I’d love to play a superhero or something that just lets me kicky everyone’s *ss!
Melissa is caring, Jude is down-to earth & Jason is super-funny-Nargis Fakhri

BOMBAY TIMES (June 19, 2015)
The Hollywood action comedy
Spy, directed by Paul Feig, has got the global audience chuckling. The
film that has Jude Law, Jason Statham and Melissa McCarthy is being
talked about because Nargis Fakhri got her break in the West with this
one. Excerpts from an interview with Nargis...
How did you prepare for your role as a special agent?
I had to do a week of intense training and learned action choreography. It was tough since I have no training in hardcore martial arts.
Tell us some lesser-known things about Jason, Melissa and Jude.
Jason is super funny and a really cool bloke. Melissa is hilarious but she is also really sweet and caring. She would always help adjust my jump suit and brush the dust or lint off me. Jude is down-to-earth. Also, Rose Byrne is such a sweetheart and funny as well.
How did Bollywood react to your break in Spy? Talk us through your journey to Hollywood.
People are really excited to see me in this film. I'm getting good feedback. I met Paul and his wife Laurie a few years ago and we stayed friends ever since. Both are into world cinema and watch Bollywood films. So, they were aware of my work. One day, Paul mentioned that there was a character in his next film called Lia and he asked me if I was interested. I was super excited to work with him on my first Hollywood film.
Spy, distributed in India by Fox Star Studios, releases today.

Nargis Fakhri makes international red carpet debut in a risque red number at the London premiere of Spy
Ankur Pathak (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 29, 2015)
She was last seen in
Bollywood in a dance number in Salman Khan's Kick, but
Nargis Fakhri seems to be getting more visibility overseas. The
Rockstar actress made her global red carpet debut in London on Thursday
at the premiere of her Hollywood debut Spy, which stars Jude Law, Jason
Statham, Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy.
She posed up a storm in a plunging red number but the actress told Mirror that her ravishing entry was preceded by bouts of anxiety. by bouts of anxiety. “I was worried about my look for the red carpet. Even though I was keen to wear an Indian designer, I had international options from my London stylist to choose from. But in the end it was this red dress that caught my fancy and I think I stole the show,“ said an exuberant Nargis, whose image soon found its way to many online portals.
The actress, who is still finding her feet in B-town says that she couldn't have imagined that one day, she'd get the privilege of walking the red-carpet with Hollywood royalty. “It was pretty dreamy and surreal. To be able to walk down the red carpet with such big names like Jude and Melissa is definitely something I could not have imagined. As a young girl, I'd daydream about it and then forget it. But it actually happened,“ said Nargis.
After the premiere, the cast headed to the after-party at the upscale Quagnilo hotel in Mayfair. “It was the classiest party that I have ever been to. It was a full house and everyone from the cast showed up. And even though I had a hectic day of interviews, I had a great time letting my hair down,“ she revealed. Would she say that she's become friends with the starry cast Jude Law and Melissa McCarhty? “They are all lovely people and so easy to be around, so you feel like friends for sure. It was really great seeing them again and having a chat as it was a while before we first met and then shot together,“ she added.
Between all the craziness, was there a moment that she'll remember the most? “I think the moment I was being interviewed and I looked up and my face was on that huge screen and it was streaming live on an online portal. That for me will be most memorable because it is one of those things that every star lives for,“ said the actress.

Nargis Fakhri is absent on international posters of her Hollywood debut Spy

Nargis Fakhri went to town talking about her role in Spy, her “knife skills”, etc., in the upcoming comedy thriller starring Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and Jason Statham. The actress even tweeted “the new Spy poster” (see alongside) on her microblogging page. But here’s where the buck stops.
For one, Nargis is not featured on the international posters of the film, which speaks volumes about the length of her role in the film as a femme fatale, (according to our source in Hollywood, not more than 10 minutes of screen time) and her significance to the project on the whole, internationally.
Moreover, look at the two posters, and it’s clear she was photoshopped in as an afterthought for Asian markets, specifically India.
Rose Bryne (of Damages fame) is the main antagonist while Jude Law and Jason Statham play key roles.
Will Nargis stand out in the film despite the length of her role? Having watched the film, our source says we can safely bet that she will.

Melissa McCarthy hit me on the head with a frying pan-Nargis Fakhri

The actress talks about her Hollywood debut and how it made her an expert with the knife.
Roshmilla Bhattacharya (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 21, 2015)
When Nargis Fakhri opted out of the Akshay Kumar-starrer, The Shaukeens, for a Hollywood film, Spy, her detractors sniggered that it would be a blink-and-miss appearance. Well, she's there for just 10 seconds in the trailer, but has caught the eye thanks to a knife fight with the film's leading lady, Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy. Critics who saw the film at a special screening are impressed by her badass avatar.
"I'm lucky to be a part of such a huge film. You don't land such an opportunity on your debut. Even if I don't have much screen time I feel special," says Nargis, arguing that in the West big names play small parts that come together to make an amazing project.
She points to even Amitabh Bachchan (The Great Gatsby) and Anil Kapoor (Mission Impossible 4) played bit roles and Priyanka Chopra bagged her TV show, Quantico, after years of scouting Los Angeles.
Refuting rumours that good friend Uday Chopra got her the film, Nargis argues that she was a fashion model who lived in New York and travelled the world. "I won't drop names but I interacted with a lot of producers, directors and actors there. But in Hollywood, no matter who you are, you have to audition and only if the producer and director agree that you fit in, will they cast you." she reasons.
Cut to the knife fight in the kitchen and Nargis admits that despite three days of training and hours practising in front of the mirror, she still hurt herself during the shoot because Melissa hit out when she wasn't expecting her to. "She even hit me on the head with a frying pan. Luckily, it was light so I ended with a bump and not in the hospital," she laughs. "It was painful then and funny now."
So what's Melissa, the unlikely Bond of this spy thriller, really like? Nargis says that she's funny and caring: "She'd adjust my pants or brush lint off my shirt and I'd have an OMG moment."And Jude Law? "He's cool, we talked about India, spirituality and yoga. But my fan moment was when I met 50 Cent. For three days I was speechless, then asked for a photograph," she reminisces.
Nargis would like to balance both worlds but for now the focus is Bollywood. "I'm in talks for a couple of projects. I hope to play a bad girl here too now that I can wield a knife. If you're in any trouble, call me," she signs off with a laugh.
Nargis Fakhri and British actor Jude Law bond over food and yoga

Renuka Vyavahare (BOMBAY TIMES; September 19, 2014)
Nargis Fakhri, a
self-confessed fan of British actor Jude Law, got a chance to work with
him in the recent schedule of their Hollywood film Spy. Common interest
in yoga and food got the two talking while shooting for the Paul
Feig-directed film in the US. Apparently, Nargis heightened Jude's
interest in India (he last visited Rajasthan in 2007) and got him
excited about planning his next trip. A source said, “Jude was
fascinated by Indian cinema. Nargis also spoke to him about our
festivals like Holi and Diwali and her personal experiences when she
first came to India three years ago.“
Jude Law is pretty nice and normal-Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri returns to Mumbai and talks about her Hollywood debut
Roshmilla Bhattacharya (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 7, 2014)
Nargis Fakhri has just returned to India after wrapping up the first schedule of her Hollywood film, Spy. Directed by Paul Feig, the film co-stars Jason Statham, Melissa McCarthy and Jude Law.
So did she meet The Jude Law? That draws a laugh, “Yes, I met Jude and a couple of other actors too. He’s pretty nice and normal, and Melissa, who’s playing the lead, is really funny.” There are no signs of awe and intimidation. For “always chilled out” Nargis, these Hollywood A-listers were “regular people” and the “energy on the sets was great”. She admits that though action-packed, her role is a small one and she accepted it simply to experience a filmmaking style different from that of Bollywood.
The punctuality almost spooked her, as a five-minute delay for an 8.45 am pick up time was met with an urgent ‘where-are-you?’ phone call. “The discipline there is awesome. Everything is so organised and so different from the way we work here,” the actress points out, quickly adding that despite everything, she loves Bollywood and wants to work here.
But apparently she’s rubbed some people the wrong way and the list includes Akshay Kumar. Reportedly, the actor got miffed with her when she dropped out of his Shaukeen remake, at the last hour to do this Hollywood project. “Really?” she asks. “I have no idea how Akshay feels since I’ve never spoken to him. I really tried to accommodate Shaukeen but there were date issues. I had to make a decision. It’s my life so I should be the one to decide what to do with it,” she adds. But, even her Main Tera Hero team, including co-star Varun Dhawan, was upset when she dropped out of the promotions. “I was only away for a couple of days and now I’m back to join them,” she protests.
Hasn’t she frittered away the advantage of the performance oriented Madras Café by doing song-and-dance numbers and playing second fiddle to Ileana D’Cruz? “The praise I got for Madras Café was wonderful. At least people acknowledged that I can act. But all three of my films are with different directors and in different genres. Also, the song-and-dance number I did has become very popular.” So what next? “I don’t know, I’m a bit slow,” she laughs. Isn’t she with Uday Chopra, who got her the Hollywood film? “He didn’t. The film has nothing to do with his banner,” she retorts. So, is marriage on the cards? “I don’t believe in marriage but then again, I’m the kind of girl who wants to try out everything. So who knows? But it’s definitely not happening any time soon.”
