Shaandaar grossed 2 crore nett apprx in its second week and has taken its two week business close to 39 crore nett and may add another 50-75 lakhs nett till its run finishes. The final business of the film is not much better than Shahid Kapoor's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero which grossed 38 crore nett. The top Shahid Kapoor grossers till date are as follows.
1. R... Rajkumar - 65.99 crore
2. Haider - 49.19 crore
3. Kaminey - 41.52 crore
4. Shaandaar - 39.50 crore (expected)
5. Phata Poster Nikhla Her - 38.42 crore

The only film to do well among these was R.. Rajkumar which proved a hit in a few circuits though all were small circuits so could not alter its all India fate. But the film was a super success on television after theatrical release which meant at least some acceptance compared to the other Shahid Kapoor films over the last few years.

SHAANDAAR had a huge crash in its second weekend with collections in the 1.25-1.50 crore nett range. The first three days had grossed around 25 crore nett. The week will finish in the 2 crore nett range meaning a week on week drop of nearly 95%. The business in 10 days is at 38.25 crore nett film and lifetime will stay below 40 crore nett.

The second week business will be better than the mega disaster BOMBAY VELVET which released earlier this year and failed to do even 1 crore nett in week two.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 continued it's strong run in its third week and seems certain to hit 60 crore nett. The film grossed around 1-1.10 crore nett on its third Friday which takes its total to 53 crore nett. The film remains tops in North India out grossing all the new releases.

SHAANDAAR crashed further on its eight day with collections of 40-45 lakhs nett. The first day was 11.75 crore nett which is a crash of 95% plus. The first day was a holiday but it is pretty certain that over the week it will be a 90% plus fall. The total of the film in eight days is 36.50 crore nett apprx.

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 should go to around 4 crore nett for the weekend while best case for SHAANDAAR will be half of that.

SHAANDAAR has had poor first week business of 36.25 crore nett, This is an eight day figure with seven day contribution being just a little more than 35 crore nett. Basically the film has done less in eight days what  PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 did in seven days. Even this 36 crore nett plus number has come due to the first day holiday and contributed 11.75 crore nett.

The Monday - Thursday business for the film is just 6 crore nett and that tells the story of the film. This is the minimum amount that you expect on the Monday for a film of this size. The film has performed poorly all over with Mumbai circuit grossing around 11 crore nett and Delhi/UP contributing around 9.5 crore nett.

The film has seen a further crash in collections on day eight and a 40 crore nett finish is looking hard for the film despite the competition being weak this week.

SHAANDAAR managed to stop the bleeding on Tuesday with a normal drop. The business of SHAANDAAR till date is as follows.

SHAANDAAR had a huge drop in collections as it grossed just 1.75 crore nett. The Monday collections were lower than PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 at many centres across India. The business of SHAANDAAR till dare is as follows.

SHAANDAAR has emerged a huge flop at the box office with collections of 30.50 crore nett in four days. There were cricket matches on day one and day four but that would have affected the film around 10-15% so even with 3-4 crore more it would hardly alter its fate. The business of SHAANDAAR over the extended four day weekend is as follows.

The only thing to be seen now is how bad Monday is and can PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 start beating SHAANDAAR daily figures by the end of the week or can SHAANDAAR at least make it wait till next week where PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 is certain to be ahead.

SHAANDAAR crashed on the second day with collections of 7 crore nett taking its two day total to 18.75 crore nett. The drop on day two was a huge 40% but some places it was worse. The film had taken the best opening in Delhi city and East Punjab but the drop on day two in these places was just phenomenal.

Delhi city grossed 1.70 crore nett on day one and its second day figures were 75 lakhs nett - a drop of 55.88%. East Punjab was no better going to 62 lakhs nett from 1.42 crore nett on day one - a drop of 56.33%. These sort of drops are a killer especially as they come in the key regions for a premium multiplex film like SHAANDAAR.

The drops in mass centres were less but that was because the film did not open well in these centres. Also in some smaller centres there may well be no awareness of a Thursday release and the first day audience came on Friday. The drop in places like Rajasthan and CP Berar was in the 30% region.

SHAANDAAR grossed around 11 crore nett apprx on day one which is not good enough for a holiday though is the biggest opening day for a Shahid Kapoor film. The film only did business in the cities, the mass centres did not really benefit from the holiday as collections were very low. The best business came in Delhi city and Mumbai city followed by East Punjab,

The writing seems to be on the wall for the film as the evening shows in Delhi and Mumbai also did not go through as they should have and this has happened on a holiday. The only plus if it can be called one is that some centres did not collect at all and so they can't have a big drop. The worry will be that places like Mumbai and Delhi can fall very badly.

The film grossed 2.55 crore nett in Delhi/UP and 1.42 crore nett in East Punjab. The final figure in Mumbai should come in at atound 3.50 crore nett. The business in Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Nizam/Andhra was dull. It has a four day weekend and the real level of its business will be known today.
