SAAHO (Hindi) is coming to and end of its run as it looks to collect around 65 lakhs nett in its fourth week. The total till now is a little under 149 crore nett and the finish will be a little over 149 crore nett. It will fall a little short of 150 crore nett but its done a big total anyway.

The NETT collections will fall short of TOTAL DHAMAAL and KESARI but it will have a higher distributor share as compared to both films. The GROSS numbers and footfalls are higher then KESARI and could be better than TOTAL DHAMAAL also but that will be a close run thing. The film may not have been liked by the Mumbai trade but the film has set records. It is the second highest grosser ever in Odisha with 4.82 crore nett (Hindi only) and this number is only behind BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. It beats the likes of TIGER ZINDA HAI, SANJU and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN.

In Bihar, it is the sixth highest grosser ever beating the likes of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, SIMMBA, SULTAN and PK. In the circuits where single screens dominate, the film has done extraordinary business.

SAAHO is heading for an all India finish of 295 crore nett in all formats. It will fall short of the 300 crore nett though it can be among the top ten NETT grossers of all time in India if it can cross the 295 crore nett of PADMAAVAT. The 295 crore nett total of that film was also in all formats.

The Hindi version is by far the best as it will finish near the 150 crore nett while the domestic market of Nizam/Andhra will do around 112 crore nett (not including Hindi and Marathawada). The Overseas business of the film will close at around $11.50 million which will mean a final worldwide gross finish in the 415-420 crore range. This will be the 14th highest total ever worldwide for a film released on multiple formats.

SAAHO (Hindi) has had a big drop in the third week with collections heading for a 3.50 crore nett week but overall the collections are very good and it is going going to finish up with business in the range of KESARI and TOTAL DHAMAAL. The updated collections of the film are below and they are a little higher than published before as the collections from the Hindi version in the South are better than estimated earlier.

The film has crossed 4 crore nett in Mysore for the Hindi version as the Hindi version gave the Telugu version a run for its money in the bigger Bangalore multiplexes. Nizam/Andhra has crossed 6 crore nett for Hindi version including Marathawada which is excellent considering its a Telugu market. Tamil Nadu/Kerala has done around 1 crore nett in Hindi. The South has actually added 11 crore nett plus in Hindi which is huge as the regional versions dominated in these markets.

The Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions finished with 2.62 crore nett in Hindi markets with Telugu collecting 2.56 crore nett, the Tamil version collecting 5.75 lakh and the Malayalam version having negligable collections.

The drop is 80% in week two but due to the huge first week collections the film is a HIT. The second week saw decent holds in mass pockets but the bigger multiplexes say a heavy drop.

The film should collect in the third and fourth weeks and push up close to the 145 crore nett mark for lifetime business. Delhi/UP and Bihar are the best circuits for the film and these two are probably the best performers if count the business across India including South.

The collections were down 40% from the previous day which was a minor holiday but its still a big drop. The film saw huge falls in the South and now stands at around 282 crore nett. The film will probably fall short of 300 crore nett and finish with a similar total to PADMAAVAT (2018) which was 295 crore nett in all formats.

The film will have a worldwide theatrical recovery of around 220-225 crore and other revenue from digital, satellite and music will be around 150 crore for a total recovery of 375 crore which is huge. The growth on Saturday was less than the regular film for the second Saturday as a huge ratio of business is coming from mass circuits which grow less and there is hardly any Mysore contribution which is the one which doubles up or even more on the second Saturday.

The footfalls of the film are sure to cross the likes of KESARI and TOTAL DHAMAAL and will not be far odd MISSION MANGAL. If the film gets to 150 crore nett plus the footfalls could even surpass MISSION MANGAL. The 150 crore mark could be tough though and 140 crore nett plus looks more realistic.

SAAHO (Hindi) collected 3.50 crore nett on its second Friday which are decent numbers and decent is more than enough for the film considering the very good first week collections. There is a fall at the bigger multiplexes but centers in UP, Gujarat and CI have fallen just 30-35% from the previous day which is a good trend in these circuits. It is collecting better than the new release in CHHICHHORE in mass centres but there is a big difference in the bigger multiplexes. The overall drop is 45% from Thursday and the collections of the film in eight days are 118.50 crore nett.

The film is a solid HIT and could even turn out to be the best this year after KABIR SINGH, URI and MISSION MANGAL. It is actually there if we factor that the film had limited release in South so the market is not as big as the regular Hindi film as it is for the Hindi version of this film. Even if the NETT figures stay below the above films there is a good chance that the share will come out higher due to the huge first week. The film has a share of 64 crore so far in eight days. The target will be the 75 crore of TOTAL DHAMAAL which is fourth best this year for Hindi films. SAAHO in Hindi is a HIT but its a totally different story in the other formats of the film.

SAAHO is almost out in the South as the film is hardly collecting anywhere in this region. The collections in the South on Friday were 50% of the Hindi version when they should actually be more. The all India number on its second Friday was 5-5.25 crore nett. The collections in Nizam/Andhra were around 1.25 crore nett and Delhi/UP was 90 lakhs and it is quite likely that both Andhra and Delhi/UP will be same on Saturday which is insane for a Telugu film.

SAAHO has so far collected 261.75 crore nett across India and it could fall short of 300 crore nett as the Hindi version is sure to add another 25 crore nett apprx from here but the South versions may not add enough for the film to reach 300 crore nett.

SAAHO (Hindi) recorded very good first week numbers of 115 crore nett which are the fourth best of 2019 after BHARAT, KABIR SINGH and MISSION MANGAL. The film opened to very strong collections and held up very well over the weekdays. The Monday collections got a boost due to Ganesh Chaturthi. As the film is a Telugu film primarily, the release of the film is not like a normal Hindi film as the South circuits hardly have the Hindi version being screened. If it was a normal Hindi film then the collections would probably have been 7-8% higher.

The film has done good numbers across all Hindi circuits with Bihar and Odisha beating BHARAT and having the best first week collections of the year. Mumbai circuit is around 36 crore nett while Delhi/UP is 27 crore nett. East Punjab is also excellent with 12 crore nett. The film ended the week with 6.50 crore nett on Thursday which is very good and the second Friday should confirm the HIT status film of the film.

SAAHO (Hindi) had another drop on Wednesday but the collections are still good and better than all the Hindi releases this year except KABIR SINGH and URI for the first Wednesday. The film collected 6.75 crore nett on Wednesday for a six day total of 108.50 crore nett. There was heavy rain which hit collections in Mumbai city but that difference would only have been 20 odd lakh but its enough to malke Delhi/UP the highest collecting circuit for the film thanks to the excellent business in UP.

The film crossed the 100 crore nett mark yesterday which is actually not a big deal but even still this mark is celebrated in the big way by the trade and media though its irrelevant in the case with most major Hindi films as 100 crore nett for them hardly means anything. But for this film it was an achievement to get 100 crore nett as it was not from the Hindi film industry and from outside and most films of outside hardly go anywhere but there was pretty much silence. In history only the eight films have hit 100 crore nett from outside, the others being BAAHUBALI: THE BEGINNING, THE JUNGLE BOOK, BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION, AVENGERS: INFINTY WAR, 2.0, AVENGERS: ENDGAME and THE LION KING. The film is up there in strong company and all these film along with SAAHO have a 100 crore nett from main Hindi circuits without counting the South circuits.

The film is heading to be a HIT unless the second Friday goes down to very low levels.

The Hindi version of SAAHO may have scored but its a sorry scenario in the South as the collections are falling very fast. The domestic market is hardy collecting for the film now as figures in Nizam/Andhra were down to 2.50 crore nett on Thursday. The way its going it will be not be long before the collections in Delhi/UP will be more than Nizam/Andhra on a daily basis which is crazy.

The film collected 10.50 crore nett apprx across India on Thursday and the total is 247.50 crore nett and we can take at least 30 crore nett from here on a worst case scenario for the Hindi version but the question will be that will South be able to cover the rest for the film to cross the 300 crore nett or is it a must for the Hindi version to cover 40 crore nett from here for a 300 crore nett plus final total.

SAAHO (Hindi) had a drop on Tuesday after the holiday on Monday but has still managed to collect well due to mass circuits which have come out with good numbers on Tuesday. UP, Bihar, Odisha and CP, CI all did good business. The film collected around 9 crore nett on Tuesday taking the five day figure to 101 crore nett.

The fair value collections on Monday were around 10 crore nett which is a 60% drop and the in real value the film has dropped another 15-20% on Tuesday. The trade in Mumbai really went after this film for some reason while a similar film from Hollywood a few weeks back FAST & FURIOUS: HOBBS & SHAW was said to be a blockbuster when that film had similar reports to this this one. The emotional connect is missing in the film so the film cant really sustain at higher levels and it was the same with FAST & FURIOUS: HOBBS & SHAW. But if this film can continue to run well in mass circuits it can actually turn out to be a HIT.

The film is successful and it will be that second Friday which will tell if can emerge a HIT film. The Hindi version has done far better than the other versions which saw a big drop on Tuesday.

The collections in single screens are the best of 2019 by a margin beating likes of BHARAT and KABIR SINGH. Most other successful Hindi films have average numbers in single screens. Its another wake up call to the Hindi film industry as to what is cinema. This film is a primarily a Telugu film so the connect is always going to be less with the Hindi audience but the numbers are coming in a big way as this is what cinema is supposed to be and our audiences are starved of real cinema. There has been an attempt to make big cinema which sadly has been bashed by the media and trade but the audiences in the Hindi film markets have been much kinder. The fact that an average Telugu film is going to cross most of the Hindi films released this year is embarrassing to say the least.

SAAHO (Hindi) had very good Monday with collections of 13.75 crore nett as it was helped by the holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi. The drop from the first day is just 45% but places where the holiday is not effective these centres saw a drop of 60% plus.

This means that everything on Tuesday should equal up and the film will have a major fall but the film is still a success. Going by the drop in Northern cities the film will turn out to be an AVERAGE fare unless the the audiences in Mumbai/Gujarat have liked the film more which is possible as they are more receptive to South films. The Hindi version has done far better than the other versions.

The film has got a total of 93 crore nett apprx on the board and today will tell where the week is going though going by the trend in cities where there was not the holiday factor its probably heading for a week of  around 110 crore nett which is good enough for this film and more so if you consider its a Telugu film.

SAAHO (Hindi) has recorded fantastic numbers over its first weekend with collections of 79 crore nett and the highest Sunday of the year with collections of over 29 crore nett. These figures have come with hardly any business from the South markets and no blockbuster picket prices and on a non holiday weekend. The weekend numbers are the second best of the year after BHARAT.

The trend of the film over the weekend is pretty strong as well. The film dropped a little on Saturday as the actions films open big on single screens and they always see a drop on day two but then showed solid growth on Sunday as these single screens recorded full houses on Sunday.

The film was expected to be a disaster by the trade in Mumbai but that it wont be even if collections crash out on Tuesday and the weekend trend does not suggest a crash like a ZERO or THUGS OF HINDOSTAN. If the film was to be a disaster it would have fallen over the weekend itself which has been seen with films before which have been totally rejected. This does not mean that the film is a HIT also as it remains to be seen what happens over the next 2-3 days.

The all India collections may hit the 200 crore nett mark for the first three days but the best performance is the Hindi markets. The standout is North India which is far above expectations. Gujarat/Saurashtra is by far the best of the Hindi circuits but that can always be expected with a South film while North is tougher market to crack for South Indian films. In Gujarat/Saurashtra the collections on Sunday were better than the first day Eid day collections of BHARAT.

SAAHO grossed a huge 190 crore nett apprx in the first three days though the collections from South are big but probably not as per expectations as the drops are there. The film has done better business in Odisha than Kerala, Bihar is more than Tamil Nadu and North has done more than Karnataka/Mysore which pretty much tells the story and the compared South circuits should have done more than the Hindi ones.

The comparative figures for 2.0 were 155 crore nett but the holds are not likely to be as strong as that film which held up well in Hindi Circiuts, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. In the Hindi circuits it has beaten BHARAT in Mumbai, East Punjab and Odisha. In the Hindi belts of UP, MP, Rajasthan and Bihar it would have beaten BHARAT also but BHARAT had Eid holidays in those places so they remain strong for the first 3 days.

The Hindi version is strong also in Nizam/Andhra as it performed very well in Marathawada. The drop is also due to how the collections in Nizam/Andhra are reported

The Nizam/Andhra figures were is the 18 crore nett range which makes the Hindi version of the film contributing the biggest ratio of collections for the film and this trend will continue now.

The film could go near the 200 crore nett mark over the weekend and maybe even hit the 200 crore nett mark if the Hindi version can grow well as not much growth will be coming from the South. The film has cost around 320 crore including P&A and these will be very good numbers for the film but the question will be can it go on past the weekend. It just needs regular holds to emerge a big success.

SAAHO (Hindi) recorded another strong day on Saturday as it recorded collections of 24 crore nett. The film had a little drop which is practically nothing though real value would be a little more as the film did not manage to release in places on Friday. There is huge negativity for this film especially in the trade but the audiences have come out in numbers for two days. There was solid growth in Delhi NCR and East Punjab of 10% which is actually excellent for an action film and for a primarily Telugu film this phenomenal for the North.

The final collections of the first day also finished in the 25 crore nett range which put the first day all India business to the 100 crore gross mark. The second day has collected around 24.50 crore nett for a two day total of 49.75 crore nett which are excellent numbers. These numbers have come with 10-12% of the normal Hindi market missing and on a non holiday with normal ticket pricing and on top there is not much star value for the Hindi markets.

Then on top there is huge negativity so the results so far are far higher than can be expected in the Hindi markets and it may not go and be a huge HIT as the emotions are missing for the core Hindi markets. But it does look like the film has a chance of doing decent business and its not a disaster for sure as far as the Hindi version goes. Even if we take a flat Sunday the film is easily going over 70 crore nett which is an excellent weekend and a restricted holiday on Monday to come.

SAAHO recorded the second highest collections of all time behind BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION as it picked up around 87 crore nett apprx on day one across India. The film did best in Nizam/Andhra with 49 crore nett (including Marathwada and Hindi prints) while Hindi circuits contributed 22.25 crore nett without Marathawada and Hindi in South) while Karntaka/Mysore was 10 crore nett. Tamil Nadu and Kerala did not perform with 3 crore nett and 1 crore nett respectively. Then there is around 1.75 crore apprx total of regional versions in Hindi circuits for an all India total of 87 crore nett.  The GROSS collections will be around 99-100 crore.

Below are the top twenty opening days in India in terms of NETT collections and there are a few Telugu films getting into the top twenty due to lower taxing in the past. The GROSS top twenty will probably see more Hindi films and that will be updated later. Irrespective of this, there is just one Hindi film in the top five and in time Hindi films could struggle to get into the top ten. In the 90's you may have had a couple of non Hindi films in top twenty. In the 70's there would be no non Hindi film in the top fifty and now we are in approaching the 20's and it can be seen how that trend has gone in the last fifty years.

SAAHO (Hindi) collected huge numbers on day one in Hindi with 24 crore nett apprx on its first day. This was with the film getting late delivery of prints affecting practically every circuit. Even places in Maharashtara and Gujarat were affected. The film has higher numbers than MISSION MANGAL which was a holiday release across practically every Hindi circuit except Mumbai and West Bengal

It is the third best number for a Hindi film this year and that is with 10-12% of the market missing in South and the release issues. It comfortably beat the numbers of films like KESARI, KABIR SINGH and TOTAL DHAMAAL. The best performance for the film in Gujarat/Saurashtra, Bihar and Odisha. Odisha has seen an all time record with the Hindi version set to be around 90 lakhs nett and the circuit likely to go much higher due to a big Telugu release also.

These numbers are simply huge for a primarily Telugu film and the collections would be 30 crore nett plus if it was released like other Hindi films and had no release issues. The reports are not there for the film but it remains to be seen how it behaves today and tomorrow. Despite the negativity the collections in the Hindi market are far above realistic expectations from the film as no matter what what the film is a dubbed Telugu film without the the goodwill of a BAAHUBALI and no big Hindi star like Akshay Kumar which 2.0 had. Its a different matter whether the film can go from here like those films did.

The film has also put up extraordinary numbers in Nizam/Andhra and Karnataka and the all India breakdown will given later. It is easily the second highest opening day pan India with total collections which could cross 80 crore nett.
