BANK CHOR grossed around a poor 1.40-1.50 crore nett on day one with Mumbai circuit doing a little better with collections of around 55-60 lakhs nett. The opening day figures are better than BANGISTAN and a little lower than BANJO but with the big match on Sunday and then TUBELIGHT releasing next week its tough to survive.

In this sort of week it would be tough even if the reports are good with the target audience like a HINDI MEDIUM or PINK. The film has some decent recovery from satellite and digital and that is only plus.

HINDI MEDIUM is continuing to do well at the box office as it grossed around 45 lakhs nett on its fifth Friday. This will be its last week where it collects due to TUBELIGHT next week. It has a total of 60 crore nett in 36 days and is looking to finish at around 63 crore nett. This is with tax exemptions. The GROSS business of the film will be around 79 crore.

RAABTA crashed out as expected with business of around 20-25 lakhs nett on its eighth day. The film will mange to cross 20 crore nett thanks to limited competition this week. If there were was a a major release then even this 25 lakhs would have been impossible.

RAABTA grossed around 19 crore nett in week one and is a huge disaster. The film has also fared just as bad in the Overseas markets. The film is unlikely to add much more post the first week despite getting 3-4 shows at some multiplexes due to lack of competition. The film looked a poor film from the theatrical but one wold still have expected more than 20 crore nett lifetime business. The other release BEHEN HOGI TERI is also a disaster with a 2 crore nett first week but that is all you can expect from a film which is a comedy but does not look funny at all as far as the promos goes and then you actually promote this poor content.

HINDI MEDIUM is a sleeper HIT of the season and grossed 6.25 crore nett in week four taking its four week total to 59.50 crore nett. The forth week collections of the film are second highest of the year after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and it has another week to add to its business so it can finish up at around 64-65 crore nett which is the same range as PINK and DEAR ZINDAGI but neither of these films had tax exemptions. So the GROSS business is much higher of those films.

WONDER WOMAN has done fair business in two weeks of around 18.50 crore nett and this is just in English. The film will do more than double of BAYWATCH which released on the same day in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and finished with less than 9 crore nett business across India.

RAABTA continued with poor collections on Tuesday with a huge drop from Monday. The film will do around 19 crore nett in its first week. The business Overseas is even worse and its looking to a worldwide  GROSS of under 35 crore. This would probably work out to worldwide theatre recovery of just 12 crore (share)

The revenue from other sources will be just as bad. If the makers managed to get prices for satellite, digital etc prior to release then those buyers will be heading for big trouble. The five day collections of RAABTA are as follows.

RAABTA crashed further on Monday with collections of just 1.75 crore nett. The film has dropped a huge 60% plus after a disaster weekend. The first week is heading for around 19 crore nett and despite there being no major Hindi releases this week it is unlikely to add much after the first week..

It again shows how that the sort of rejection that bad cinema faces. The audience is unforgiving and they just don't come for sub standard stuff at the high ticket rates today. The four day collections of RAABTA are as follows.

RAABTA is a huge disaster with around 13 crore nett in its first weekend. The film failed to pick up on Saturday so even though it was affected by the cricket on Sunday it hardly mattered as even if there was no cricket it was unlikely to grow much. The film is a huge disaster following the likes of BROKEN HORSES, BOMBAY VELVET, ROCK ON 2 etc.

There is not much scope for Monday with this sort of trend. The only thing remain to be seen is how mad will Monday be or can it sail through the week with a normal weekday trend. The weekend collections of RAABTA are as follows.

RAABTA is a huge disaster as collections fell on Saturday after a very poor start. The film is going to join that mega disaster list as collections will drop further on Sunday due to the cricket match. The film collected in the 4.25-4.50 crore nett range on Saturday. The two day total is around 9 crore nett. The film is mainly for multiplexes and so a Saturday drop is rare for these type of films but this drop means it has been rejected like very few before it.

Its a total disaster for the hero and first time director. The hero was coming after M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY and must have thought that its 20 crore opening had something to do with him which is a norm in the industry but another norm in the industry is that reality check will strike sooner or later and here it was sooner. The second day collections are bad for the director as it means failure on his part as audience has totally rejected the film. The two day collections of the film are as follows.

The other release BEHEN HOGI TERI managed growth on Saturday of around 50% but with such an awful start it is irrelevant. The worst thing about this film is that it was promoted more that most films of its ilk but still no collections. The two day figures of Behen Hogi Teri are as follows.

RAABTA had a very poor first day of 4.75 crore nett which hardly gives it a chance. It will need a miracle on Saturday and grow 60-70% to have a chance which is a very unlikely scenario. Even then the weekend will be low as there is the India vs South Africa cricket match on Sunday which will hit collections hard. The film had nothing going for it though the makers may have pinned hope on the hero because he was in M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY which opened to 20 crore nett but that had nothing to do with the hero which the opening of this film basically confirms. That film had opened due to the popularity of cricketer M S Dhoni and a lot of bulk ticket sales by various brands of the cricketer. Still despite bad promos not being to collect even 5 crore nett is a huge downer for the film.

If RAABTA was bad then the other release BEHEN HOGI TERI was a total washout collecting 25-30 lakhs nett apprx on day one. The film was supposed to be a comedy but the collections are a tragedy. Both these Hindi films got a helping hand from the censors as they handed THE MUMMY an Adult certificate but neither held any appeal to benefit. India must be the only country in the world where THE MUMMY is an adult film.

The collections of THE MUMMY will be around 3.50 crore nett which is poor but it would have put up a decent number if this film got a U certificate as it holds some appeal for families especially in the bigger cities.
