PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) collected a huge 15 crore nett on its second Wednesday which now takes the film to 553 crore nett and it will cross the numbers of JAWAN which is the second biggest Hindi grosser. STREE 2, which is at the top, will be done by the close of business on Saturday. It will take the film just 17 days to become the highest grosser and there will be the Xmas and New Year period to come.

The period will mean more records being broken over the Christmas and New Year weeks and this means that its very likely that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will be setting new highs in week three and four. These third and fourth week records will be coming when already it is the highest grossing film which easily makes its the biggest blockbuster post pandemic. The footfalls of the film in Hindi are also heading towards the 4 crore mark and it will have the highest footfalls since BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION.

GADAR (2001), BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION (2017) and now PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE are the three legendary films this century now and stand above the others. Two of them are dubbed films from the South and this has never happened before in history as most of the legendary films are from the Hindi film industry. The only other film from the South which reached this elevated status was CHANDRALEKHA way back in 1948.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is on the verge of a history double century in Mumbai circuit and has hit that mark today as it stood at 199 crore nett apprx at the end of business on Wednesday. Basically the film will have done 200 crore nett in two weeks and there is much more to come and it could be a 250 crore nett finish for the film.

The best for an original Hindi film is 158 crore nett of STREE 2 and it is because of this circuit that it will be a dream for an original Hindi film to beat the Hindi collections of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE for some time. The sort of cinema coming from the Hindi film industry at the moment means even 200 crore nett is out of reach in Mumbai let alone wherever the final numbers of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE reach.

This is a circuit where it will be films from the South which can challenge records in the present time and it has taken PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE to beat BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and this trend is likely to remain. It is the biggest circuit for films in Hindi and record numbers here make it easier to set all India records. The importance is such that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE can smash the all India record by a margin despite limited South collections and that is mainly because Mumbai is so huge. Both Maharashtra and Gujarat have seen unbelievable numbers.

There are many huge Hindi films set to release in the next couple of years and expected to put up huge numbers but the problem will remain in Mumbai circuit and if one or two of these are able to BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION that itself will also be a feat. This is a result of the cinema in the decade before the pandemic which had limited mass appeal and now with the change in audience profile, this appeal has to be another level and this is a tough ask for writers and makers in Hindi cinema at present but there is always hope.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) set more records on the third Friday as it collected a record 10.50 crore nett apprx on its third Friday. This is the highest third Friday of all time just edging past the 10.10 crore nett of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. These are the only two films that have gone into double digits on the third Friday and both are dubbed films.

The highest third Friday for an original Hindi is the 9 crore nett of STREE 2. This third Friday sets up PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE for another record weekend and the harder part is getting the week record with business being more weekend lopsided compared to the time of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. But here, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will have the Christmas holiday factor in play which will mean the highest third week of all time. 

The film continues with incredible business all over. There is a slight under performance in the North if we compare with the business in West and Central India but even then, North India can hit ALL TIME RECORDS. Its just that the margins will be limited if it manages to do. This Friday saw the release of MUFASA: THE LION KING and VANVAAS but the film remain pretty much unaffected. On Wednesday, it will be the release of BABY JOHN and again this film will remain unstoppable.

There have been some huge BLOCKBUSTERS in the last few years with KGF - CHAPTER 2, PATHAAN, GADAR 2, JAWAN, ANIMAL and STREE 2. But PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is a level above and clearly the third biggest BLOCKBUSTER this century after GADAR (2001) and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. The BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION record collection for the second week stood for 7 years and it will take a huge achievement by any film to break this PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record in the next few years no matter how big the film is. In fact the best after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION were smaller films like STREE 2 and GADAR 2. The second week tends to define the final outcome of the box office and now the top two films are dubbed films from the South and it will be no surprise if more are added in the next decade. As mentioned yesterday, until the big original Hindi films can compete with the big South films in Mumbai circuit, it becomes very difficult to put up the highest numbers.

There is NO domination of dubbed South films in the all India market as generally week in week out they will bite the dust. Around Diwali there were films like AMARAN and LUCKY BHASKAR that did well in there local areas but were washed out in Hindi and this will be the case with 99% of the dubbed films as they hold no appeal whatsoever. But there will some films with a certain feel and look and characterization which at the moment is not possible from the Hindi film industry and those will blow the box office away. These will be few and far between but will be there until the audience tastes or audience profile change but that will not be for sometime.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had a huge third Saturday of 18 crore nett again smashing all records and while doing so became the highest grosser in Hindi as it went past the numbers of STREE 2 which were set just a few months back. The film stands at a huge 594 crore nett in seventeen days and today it will hit another milestone as it becomes the first film to hit the 600 crore nett mark.

The film will have 600 crore nett up on the board and then the Christmas and New Year period will start which is going to benefit the film hugely. It may well be flirting with the 700 crore nett mark when this holiday period is over. The numbers continue to be mindboggling all over especially core Hindi speaking belts.

The film is now looking at a 100 crore nett finish in Gujarat/Saurashtra which is an unbelievable feat as there are only 14 films including PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE itself which have done 100 crore nett in the whole Mumbai circuit and here this film is doing 100 crore nett in just the Gujarat/Saurashtra side of the circuit. Pre pandemic no film, apart from BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION, had crossed 50 crore nett in Gujarat. 

The year has ended on high with PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and there was another record grosser with STREE 2 but despite these two films its still been a very bad year overall with very few bright spots.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) continued with fantastic collections on its second Tuesday as it collected 16.75 crore nett apprx. There is a drop compared to the outstanding hold in Monday but it does not really matter as collections are at insanely high levels. The film now has a total of 538 crore nett across India in Hindi and should hit the 550 crore nett mark today (Second Wednesday). It will cross this mark in only thirteen days.

This is coming with a limited South release and if it was an organic Hindi film, you can add 25 crore nett for a fair value of 575 crore nett. The film has already set a new high for the second week as it cruises past the 142 crore nett record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. The second week stands at 150 crore nett and it is looking to cross the 175 crore nett mark in the second week alone.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will see competition with MUFASA: THE LION KING but that is a for a different audience and hence, will not be affected much. There will be a reduction of shows in multiplexes but its third week now and that also will hardly make a difference. The target will be to remain in double digits on the third Friday this week and then take benefit of the holiday period over Christmas and New Year.

The film is already the third highest grossing film in Hindi and will cross JAWAN (Hindi) by the end of the week. Its likely to beat STREE 2 by the end of business on Saturday to become the highest grossing Hindi film ever.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has collected a huge 875 crore nett across India in all versions which makes it the second highest grossing film ever in India after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. The film will cross the 900 crore nett mark by the end of the week and then will go on to be the second film to hit 1000 crore nett and also become the highest grosser ever.

The contributions are now pretty limited in the South but there is plenty of gas left in the tank for the Hindi version which will take it through all the milestones. Even in South, if we take the Nizam/Andhra territory as it is for us with Marathawada included then in South, there is also a 30% plus contribution from the Hindi version in the weekdays of the second week.

The overseas collections are $26 million till now in all versions which is 220 crore and the India GROSS is 1054 crore giving the film a total of 1274 crore in eight days. The business in overseas could have been better as it looks to be heading towards the same range as KALKI 2898 AD and that too because of the Christmas and New Year period. If the next couple of weeks were normal, it may have stayed below KALKI 2898 AD. The Hindi version of the film will do well in the next two weeks.

The Hindi version of the film stands at around 750 crore worldwide and here the film will go well over 900 crore and maybe even to 950 crore making it the best after JAWAN and PATHAAN. But dubbed Hindi releases have a much weaker release in Overseas and even in India, they are less in Hindi than organic Hindi films.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) showed an extraordinary hold on its second Monday as the Hindi mass circuits went bonkers and hardly dropped from the second Friday. The likes of Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar were showing drops of only 10-15% and the numbers itself were crazy and at a very high level. The overall drop is 20% from the second Friday.

CP Berar was almost 2 crore nett and this is a number that very films have managed to hit on the opening day. The collections of both STREE 2 and JAWAN were less than 2 crore nett on day two and here the film is getting similar numbers on its second Monday. This hold indicates carnage over the next few weeks in these Hindi speaking circuits.

The film did see drops ranging in the 25-35% range in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and West Bengal but this is still better than a normal second Monday drop. The only reason they look like drops is due to the phenomenal holds in other places. The film collected a huge 20 crore nett on its second Monday which puts the film at 521 crore nett till date. 

The second week has so far collected 134 crore nett and its likely the second week will go to 175 crore nett plus which just smashes the long standing second week record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION at 142 crore nett. This hold on the second Monday across the core mass pockets means the film could now go to 700 crore nett.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) put up another extraordinary total on Sunday as it collected over 48 crore nett which took its second weekend to an incredible 115 crore nett apprx. This is the first 100 crore nett plus second weekend ever and its gone past the 100 crore mark by a margin.

The film also hit the 500 crore nett mark on Sunday making it the seventh film to do so and the total of the film stands at 506 crore nett. The first 500 crore nett film was BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION in 2017 and it is the only pre pandemic film to hit the 500 crore nett. Here, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will be the first film to cross the 600 crore nett mark which it will comfortably go over.

The holds for the film are outstanding as week on week, the drop looks under 60% and that is from an eight day first week. The film continues running riot in Mumbai circuit as it looks to beat the long standing record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION by the end of the week and then cruise to the 200 crore nett mark. The film is already the second highest grossing film ever in Mumbai and in Odisha, it became the biggest grosser in a matter of nine days.

The lifetime number of the film depends on how strong the film remains over the holiday period. The likely scenario looks at the moment that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will cross 650 crore nett with a chance to hit 700 crore nett though a lot will depend on the holiday period. BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION remains the only film ever to have a double digit third Friday and that will be the next target for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE set a new record for the second weekend by a huge margin as it beat the numbers of STREE 2 by over 20 crore nett and in doing so became the first film to score a century in the second weekend. Pre pandemic, a century in the whole week was a big number but with business taking a jump for the films appreciated by the audience, the benchmarks have shifted.

Also with films like KGF - CHAPTER 2, GADAR 2 and now PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, there is significant penetration into the smaller centres which was missing in the pre pandemic blockbusters apart from BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION as they were mainly driven by huge numbers in the multiplexes. GADAR 2 had a modest contribution in South and KGF - CHAPTER 2 and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE have a limited release in South. Hence, just from this, it can be seen the sort of ratios that have come from the Hindi circuits for these films.

Below are the top five second weekends and it is noticeable that apart from ANIMAL, they are all sequels and that is the way the industry will be going until something changes. Numbers don't lie and sequels rule and going forward its very likely they will continue to rule.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had a phenomenal second Saturday as it became the first film to cross 40 crore nett on the second Saturday as it showed a huge jump of around 65% from record levels on Friday. The film is basically tearing up the record books.

The film is cruising to a 100 crore nett plus second weekend and a 150 crore nett plus second week which has never been done before. The way the film is going, it is going to be the highest grosser in Hindi grosser before the end of its third weekend beating STREE 2 which set the record earlier earlier this year.

The difference with the benchmarks that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will set is that it is likely to last for some time as the numbers it is going to set in many circuits are going to go ahead of previous bests by margins. Also, there will be not be many films that can penetrate deep into the interiors like PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and that includes the most of the forthcoming big budget films.

The film stands at 457 crore nett till date and will be comfortably over the 500 crore nett mark on Sunday as the film eyes the first 50 crore nett second Sunday in history. The film has also seen good numbers in the South but they pale into comparison with the Hindi version which are simply Historic. In South, it is also the Hindi version giving the best occupancy with a huge rise in shows in Nizam from a start on very limited shows.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) continued is superb run on Tuesday as it collected almost 35 crore nett and is the second highest first Tuesday ever after GADAR 2. However, it was a national holiday for the Sunny Deol starrer. ANIMAL is the highest non holiday first Tuesday and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has beaten that but not by much and ANIMAL was only 1 crore nett less.

The film now has a total of 337 crore nett which is already the highest first week total (7 days) beating the 317 crore nett of PATHAAN. The extended first week is targetting a total in the range of 390-395 crore nett which is way far ahead of anything seen before and this will be coming from a very limited contribution of South of hardly 20 crore nett. The likes of PATHAAN, JAWAN and ANIMAL were in the 50-60 crore nett range here.

Mumbai circuit continues its bonkers run and is racing towards a 200 crore nett. To put Mumbai into perspective, its going to beat the likes of JAWAN and ANIMAL within 9-10 days and Mumbai is no minor circuit but the biggest circuit for Hindi films. North India (Delhi/UP, East Punjab) is less if we compare to Mumbai but it can still put up record numbers or close to it in these two circuits as well. The dubbed version has worked in Maharashtra with Maharashtrian characters and that has pushed Maharashtra to another level.

It is about where the second Friday lands now. There has only been one film on second Friday to go over 20 crore nett and that is ANIMAL and this film will be the second one. It remains to be seen if the second Friday is a record or not.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE recorded the second highest first Tuesday of all time and the highest non holiday first Tuesday of all time. The only other film to go over 30 crore nett is ANIMAL which shows how huge this number is.

The trend of the film on Tuesday is weaker than ANIMAL but that can be due to the extended weekend where it ran up insane numbers which can lead to bigger drops than compared to a three day weekend film. STREE 2 also has a weaker trend than ANIMAL but eventually put up more collections post the first week compared with ANIMAL though its probably due to an extended period with no major releases.

The victory of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is in mass belts as collections in the multiplexes are less than ANIMAL and on Monday, it actually saw a lower contribution than STREE 2 at the national chains despite having better all India collections. The industry today goes by how these national chains go but its always about the circuits and when a film succeeds at lower the ratio at these chains, then the bigger hit it will be.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) was outstanding on Wednesday as it collected 29 crore nett which is the second highest first Wednesday ever after GADAR 2 not counting when Wednesday is the first day for a film. GADAR 2 got an overflow on Wednesday as the national holiday saw another level of craze which fed over to the next day. As a result, the drop for that film came on the Thursday.

The film is better than ANIMAL on Wednesday and STREE 2 was down to under 20 crore nett on Wednesday. The film is dropping around 15% daily and now its about whether this trend continues over the next two days or does it change as to put up a record on the second Friday, it will have to show a better trend.

The film has a total of 366 crore nett in seven days which is by far the highest ever and to become the biggest grosser ever, it really need a record second Friday as even if its around the 20 crore nett mark it is going to be first film to hit the 600 crore nett mark. The film is seeing a weaker trend in some of the Eastern and Northern circuits and no doubt they are going to do huge numbers but it will be interesting to see if they reach record levels.

Mumbai is a hurricane as the film will topple ANIMAL's lifetime in just eight days and then PATHAAN in nine days The total in Mumbai circuit for the Hindi version stands at 125 crore nett in seven days. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has smashed first week records by huge margins as it collects almost 50 crore nett more than PATHAAN in the first week and this is without any holiday support. It is the third 300 crore nett week one grosser and the first film to cross 350 crore nett in a week. If we take out the collections from South, then PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is the ONLY film above 300 crore nett and also hits the 350 crore nett mark.

The huge gap between PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and the rest should mean that it should have set a new high in very circuit in Hindi but that remains to be seen. The potential of a big film is going higher and higher and very fast. It was just post pandemic that 250 crore nett was hit with KGF - CHAPTER 2 and now two and a half years later, we stand at 350 crore nett. Pre-pandemic, 200 crore nett was seen as a big number for the first week and only six films had managed that feat.

Now it remains to be seen when this PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE benchmark will be broken and it will be tough one but with the luck of the draw and holiday support it can be done. Here a bumper initial and mass appreciation have come together to enable records being beaten by margins and that without holiday support.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had an extraordinary extended first week of 390 crore nett plus and ended the last day of the week with 25 crore nett which no film has ever managed to do. In fact, very few films have ended up with 20 crore nett on the last day of the week and it also has to be noted here that it was an eight day week.

The film has seen daily drops over the weekdays which are in that 15% range but that is going to happen when collections are at such huge levels. The collections of the film in Mumbai, CP Berar and Odisha are already ahead of some of the biggest grossers in just eight days. The film has set Mumbai circuit on fire and while that 200 crore nett mark is an impossible task, this film looks to be cruising to the 200 crore nett mark.

The second Friday will give an idea of where this film will go. The first week has seen the film just white wash every record in the book by margins but that will be more difficult from here on. The records may still come but the margins will be much less. The second week record is a long standing record still held by BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and in order to beat it cannot drop another 15% from Thursday. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is also superb in overseas in Hindi.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has collected 669 crore nett across India in all versions in its extended first week. Basically, the film crossed the business of KALKI 2898 AD in just seven days which was the highest grosser of the year before PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The film also crossed JAWAN which is the highest grossing film from the Hindi film industry to release in many versions. JAWAN also achieved it within seven days.

The film also added $23 million in overseas over eight days in all versions which is 194 crore and the India GROSS is 807 crore giving the film a total of 1001 crore in eight days. Overseas, the Hindi version is excellent but the Telugu version has not done as per expectations. Its likely that the Telugu version collections could stay behind KALKI 2898 AD but Hindi should ensure the overall overseas gross is more than the Prabhas-starrer.

The target for the film is to become the second 1000 crore film in India after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and a lot depends on the Hindi version as that is the main contributor from here on. The contribution from the regional versions was not even 10 crore nett on the last day of the week.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) created another record on its second Friday as it recorded the highest collection for the second Friday beating the numbers of ANIMAL. The film also held up very well from the Thursday showing a very minor drop and that also was mainly due to the East where the film lost around 50 lakhs nett.

The other circuits just cancelled each other out with some showing minor gains and other showing minor falls. Mumbai continues its juggernaut run and has crossed the numbers of ANIMAL and is likely to cross PATHAAN and JAWAN today. Even the records mass single screen blockbusters like KGF - CHAPTER 2 and GADAR 2 will be done and dusted before the weekend is out.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is on course to create more history as it looks to become the first film to hit the 100 crore nett mark in the second weekend. The growth is outstanding on Saturday and this record will be on and this should lead to the long standing record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION for week two to be broken. The film stands at 416 crore nett at the moment and for here it can be said the film has the potential to go to the 650 crore nett at least. It can go higher also but then its becomes about how the film trends from the third week onward.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE recorded the highest second Friday and became the second film to go over the 20 crore nett on the second Friday after ANIMAL. This number can take the second week to another level if the film trends like how STREE 2 did. In recent time, there are films with higher second Fridays than STREE 2 like ANIMAL and GADAR 2 but the trend of those films were held back with clashes against films which were doing pretty well themselves.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has the potential to trend like STREE 2 or close to it from a far higher second Friday which led to all second week records being broken. The 15 crore nett mark has only been crossed by seven films. To put this 25 crore nett into perspective is that there only 19 films that have gone into double digits and over 10 crore nett and here is a film flirting with 25 crore nett.

The target for the film is the first 100 crore nett second weekend in history and then the first 150 crore nett second week in history. Before the pandemic, a 100 crore nett second week was a mission with only BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and DANGAL achieving this feat but now we are looking at a 100 crore nett second WEEKEND.
