MUNNA MICHAEL had a poor first week as it grossed 31 crore nett and the collections fell fast over the weekdays. The film did fair business on Sunday but that was it as it went down after. The single screen business of the film is better but even there, its not at the level of a BAAGHI which could take it somewhere. The film was never going to do well in the metros so it was about the multiplexes outside the metros and it was the failure to collect there which meant a bad result. The film is not adding much in week two and may just about crawl to 35 crore nett.

LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA has done reasonable business in the first week of 10 crore nett but it had a strong trend with weekdays recording strong business. The film may actually turn out to be a surprise HIT depending on the business it does on day eight. There is a good chance that the eighth day business of the film is going to be better than MUNNA MICHAEL

DUNKIRK did pretty well over its first week as recorded business of 16.75 crore nett in week one. The film had a good weekend but could not really hold that well over the weekdays. The business is still not bad for a film released in English only but that appreciation is missing in the Indian market for the film to really sustain.

MUNNA MICHAEL continues to fall and adds to the huge flop list of the year. The second half of the year has started with the three main releases flopping at the box office be it MOM, JAGGA JASOOS and now MUNNA MICHAEL. There is competition every week but this film will not be affected by that as its a limited releases and wont find it difficult to hold its screens. The film had some hope after Sunday but like JAGGA JASOOS the week earlier, it just managed to collect well on the day that its target audience comes out in numbers. For JAGGA JASOOS it was the Saturday and for MUNNA MICHAEL it was the Sunday.

The film has done better business in single screens but the big issue is that multiplexes in A, B and C centres did not perform which are a must for any commercial film.

The footfalls for the film are more than other films taking in 21 crore nett as a large chunk of the business has come from places with lower tickets.
