After Sania Mirza-Shoaib Malik who became parents to a baby boy on October 30 who they have named Izhaan and Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi who were blessed with a daughter, Mehr, on Sunday, actress Udita Goswami and her filmmaker-husband Mohit Suri became parents for the second time. Their son was born on Wednesday.
Mohit and Udita tied the knot on January 29, 2013. Their daughter, Devee, was born two years later. This time they kept the pregnancy under wraps. Udita only posted a picture with her baby bump on social media on Wednesday, stating “What kept me busy and missing in action.”
Mohit confirmed the news but said he couldn’t talk as he was busy in the nursery. He promised to call back but then wrote back to say, “Can I text? Thing is he’s just awake and playing for the first time, don’t wanna miss that.”
After that the proud dad was engrossed in his newborn that he didn’t respond to our queries. A friend of the couple informed that the child was born during the day. “Mohit and Udita have shortlisted a few names, they will reveal the final one soon,” a source added.
Mohit Suri’s daughter is the reason why he changed Half Girlfriend's script

If you have read, Chetan Bhagat’s Half Girlfriend, you’ll realise it is a dark love story. It revolves around Madhav, a guy who studied in a Hindi-medium school from rural Bihar falling in love with Riya, who is from an English-medium school in Delhi. It also touches upon Riya’s father sexually abusing her in the past. That won’t play out in the Mohit Suri film starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
And here’s why. Mohit has tweaked his script — so now, while it still talks about social issues, it won’t be as dark as the novel. The director admits to the change and says his daughter Devi’s birth has changed his life. “While Riya has some dark family secrets, they are not related to sexual abuse. I have moved out of that dark, sexual zone completely. I wanted it to be more of a love story and to deal with contemporary social issues relatable to women,” he says.
The novelist had no qualms about the changes being made. Says Mohit, “The minute Chetan gave me the book, I asked him if he wanted to be a part of the screenplay, but he refused saying he was too closely connected to it. While he was creatively involved with the script, he never fought over the changes we made.”
He reveals the changes he’s making to that track. “It’s about rich families and how girls are treated there so I have kept it more relevant to today’s times. The film also shows the hypocrisy in our society especially concerning women,” he shares.
He further reasons, “Maybe it’s because I have a daughter of my own today and experiencing fatherhood has wrought that change to be more socially conscious. My daughter can make me proud someday. When I see her, I feel so happy. Why can’t daughters take their family name ahead?”
The entire Durga Puja experience in Kolkata did something to me-Mohit Suri

Mohit Suri’s Hamari Adhuri Kahani is up for release
and the new father is a bag of nerves. This is his 10th year in B-Town
and while one would imagine Mohit to be used to this by now, he says
it’s just gotten worse with every passing year. “I am always nervous. It
just keeps increasing with every film. When my first film relased, I
thought it would be less unnerving but that obviously hasn’t happened,”
he laughs.
While he was shooting for the film, his wife Udita Goswami gave birth to their daughter. While Mohit and Udita were ecstatic to have a baby girl, he reveals that the couple never thought of a boy. “It’s strange but we never thought of a name for a boy. It was always a girl and we were blessed with a girl. Udita had told me that if we had a daughter, she wanted to name her Devi. I was not very convinced about it because I am not a very religious person. Nor do I go to temples so I thought the name was quite old school. However, when we were shooting for the film’s climax in Kolkata, it was the Durga Puja sequence. Everyone around was happy and Durga Maa being the Devi was an integral part of the shot. I don’t really know what struck me but that is when I decided that we would name our daughter Devi. After the shot, I called Udita and told her about the same. She was more than ecstatic. Probably what also helped was the fact that I had never been to Kolkata during Durga Puja so the entire experience did something to me,” he explains.
So will his daughter be his lucky charm for the film? “Well, when I did Aashiqui 2, I had just gotten married so everyone said Udita would be my lady luck. Now, for this film my daughter is the Lady Luck. No one gives me credit but I am not complaining. As long as every film can outdo the other, I have no problem giving the women in my life credit,” he says.

"It's still unbelievable, I've never felt so selfless in my life!" exclaims first-time father Mohit Suri whose wife, Udita Goswami gave birth to their daughter at 12 noon on Thursday at a private hospital in Bandra.
The proud parents have named their first-born Devi. "We wanted an old-school, traditional name. Devi came to me while I was driving to the hospital. It has a nice ring to it," says Mohit, adding with a laugh that he'd like to believe his daughter has Udita's face and his brains.
Mahesh Bhatt, who has become a grand-uncle, broke the news online, with the tweet: "Devi completes Mohit's and Udita's 'Adhuri' Love Story!"
Mohit's cousins, Alia Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi, who are both out of town, congratulated him over the phone. "Ekta called from Dubai and Aditya (Roy Kapur), Shaad (Ali, director), and Milap (Zaveri) are here with me at the hospital," says Mohit, insisting the child has brought along an odd sense of fulfilment. "I lost my mother at a young age and after becoming a parent I feel the loss can finally be overcome. I want to give my daughter everything."
Will the baby, like most industry kids, grow up on a movie set? "Not if Udita has her way," comes the prompt response. "Everyone wants to click her, but my star is only a day old. We will take her pictures later."
