DRISHYAM grossed around 75 lakhs nett on its third Friday which is a 65% drop from last week which is good considering a big new release like BROTHERS came. The weekend can go to around 3.50 crore nett or higher as it will get the benefit of Independence Day on Saturday. The film has sustained pretty well at the box office but that low initial has cost the films chances of becoming a good success.
BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN has grossed around 35 lakhs nett on its fifth Friday. The collections are 70% plus down from last week and its run is coming to an end. Still it can get around 1.50 crore nett plus over the weekend which will take its business close to 310.5 crore nett.
The collections of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION are down heavily in week two in the 1.25 crore nett range which is a drop of 80% approx. The film will finish at around 50 crore nett in India which is not much more than the last MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE film.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION had a good weekend as it grossed 26.50 crore nett including paid previews but the figures are well short of films like FAST & FURIOUS 7 and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON which took business for Hollywood releases to another level. The three day business of the film is at a similar level to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2012) and the fourth or fifth highest weekend ever for Hollywood releases.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL grossed 47.75 crore nett in 2011. This film should manage to go above that but will find it hard to hit 75 crore nett which is the benchmark for Hollywood releases with three films surpassing it and FAST & FURIOUS 7 even going to 95 crore nett.
BANGISTAN had a poor weekend of 3.50-3.75 crore nett and the trend was also not good. JAANISAAR was a washout and there was also a release from Pakistan named BIN ROYE which was also a washout.
------------------------
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION dropped on Monday with collections of 3 crore nett approx. The drop is 50% from Friday which is more than it should have been. The four day total is 29.50 crore nett which includes paid previews. The drops are there in all circuits.
The three biggest grossers in India of all time from Hollywood have come this year in the form of FAST & FURIOUS 7, JURASSIC WORLD and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON signalling healthy growth for big Hollywood releases. But MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION will remain well short of those films. The film is probably looking looking at a week of 38 crore nett and lifetime of 55 crore nett which is only 15% more than the last MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE film in 2011.
BANGISTAN also dropped 50% on Monday to collect 50 lakhs nett apprx. The film faced rejection by the audience on day one itself and this is par for the course now. The week will be around 5.25-5 .50 crore nett and will not add much thereafter.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION grossed around 6 crore nett on day. The collections are pretty good but considering how well the last MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE film opened this should have done better. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL had opened to around 4.75 crore nett but the market for Hollywood has grown much bigger now with films crossing the 10 crore nett mark on the opening day.
Still the film should show solid growth over the weekend and come out with a good number for the weekend. The opening day collections are probably the fifth or sixth highest ever for a Hollywood release in India with FAST & FURIOUS 6 being the biggest ever with a 12 crore nett opening day.
BANGISTAN meanwhile fared poorly grossing around 1-1.10 crore nett on day one. The film made no impact at all and was lost in the competition around it. The film released on 700 screens. Saturday will be higher but with such a low start it is hard to go anywhere.
