MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI collected 5.75 crore nett plus in the first week with midweek collections getting a push from the holiday period but still collections are at low levels. The business of the film is slightly better in the NCR region but the Hindi circuits hardly collected, be it CI or Gujarat.

LOVEYAPA and BADASS RAVI KUMAR collected in a similar range a couple of weeks ago and this film looks pretty much a similar story. Those films could not add much in the second week and its probably going to be a similar story with this film. There is nothing much releasing this week but that's unlikely to stop this film dropping in week two.

MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI dropped on Monday collecting 50 lakhs nett which takes the total of the film to a little over 5 crore nett. The drop is considerable from the first day but obviously the first day got a boost from the buy one get one free offer. These offers are simply bad for the box office and the public knows such an offer means the content is sub standard.

The offer may incite a few consumers who would not otherwise go but that means the film is not standing on its own. Eventually the story of MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI is no different from most of the films which push the opening day with an offer. The first week looks to be heading for a 6.25 crore nett total. 

The business of the film is very similar to LOVEYAPA, another film in the similar genre. That film is still running at a few places in the third week and its looking like a 7 crore nett end for that film; MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI is looking at a similar end.

MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI collected a little under 4.75 crore nett for its first weekend with day one driven by the buy one get one free offer which meant growth was hard to come by. The Sunday business was hit by India vs Pakistan cricket match which saw occupancy drop for all films from afternoon onwards.

The film has collected a little more than LOVEYAPA over the weekend while it is a little less than BADASS RAVI KUMAR. But the zone looks pretty much the same as compared to those films unless Monday sees a change of trajectory. Day one was boosted by the offer and hence, there will a drop on Monday as compared to the Friday figure.

The film had one song to stand out for box office numbers but it has not really translated. Even though there is this dull period over the next four weeks or so, its unlikely to benefit this film much as occupancy is low over the first weekend itself.

MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI collected around 1.50 crore nett on day one driven by the buy one get one free offer. The number is better than what most would have expected for the film. But when it comes with these sort of deals, the fair value is much lower and that number maybe is more closer to the 1 crore nett mark though its hard to tell.

The film did not have much to offer and is released during the CHHAAVA wave across the country which will make the box office journey even harder as most of the audience out there this weekend will be going to that film. The offer may have helped the first day but after that it gets much tougher as major growth becomes hard to come by.

LOVEYAPA was probably a film in a similar zone but that film had even less face value than MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI and that will probably be the comparison for the film in the long run. Not that if it beats LOVEYAPA, its much of a victory.
