M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY (Hindi) had a fair second week total of 23.50 crore nett taking its two week total to around 108 crore nett in its Hindi version. The dubbed version has grossed a further 6 crore nett. It is the fourth highest second week collections of the year after SULTAN, AIRLIFT and RUSTOM but the drop is also 73% which seems okay but the film went tax free in UP and Maharashtra in week two and on top had holidays in week two as well but still a big fall is there. If we compare the GROSS collections with HOUSEFULL 3 which has the fifth highest second week total of 2016 they are lower. The second week GROSS of HOUSEFULL 3 is around 31.50 crore while M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY is 29.50 crore  Though obviously the Nett figures of HOUSEFULL 3 are lower as there were no tax exemptions. Basically the film has trended below HOUSEFULL 3 which also had a weak trend. The film will get another two weeks run and so it should be able to go above 115 crore nett and possibly even to around 120 crore nett. This would make it the fourth highest NETT grosser of the year behind SULTAN, RUSTOM and AIRLIFT.

M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY (Hindi) grossed in the 1-1.25 crore nett range on its third Friday taking its total to 109.50 crore nett which now makes it the fourth highest nett grosser of the year as it goes ahead of the HOUSEFULL 3 nett collections. The trend in the third week is better than the second week though there is no support of holidays like in the second week. It is pre Diwali period period but all the films around it are doing very poor which is allowing M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY to benefit. Tax exemption in UP and Maharashtra is also a big benefit. The other releases of the week fared poorly including the Hollywood release INFERNO. The best film of the Hindi films was SAAT UCHAKKEY with a similar response to last weeks TUTAK TUTAK TUTIYA.

M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY (Hindi) managed to cross the 100 crore nett mark on monday which is a big achievement for the film going by the face value but not if you look at the costs and initial of the film. The holidays should give it a boost over the next two days and take the second week collections to around 22-23 crore nett giving it 107.50 crore nett total in two weeks. The competition is weak for the next two weeks as far as Hindi films are concerned and it should finish in the 115-120 crore nett range. The dubbed version will add a further 6 crore nett. The worldwide gross of the film is stands at 184 crore after 11 days and it should go to around 200 crore at the end of its run.

M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY (Hindi) had a big fall in the second weekend with collections dropping 76% and this was despite being tax free in UP and Maharashtra from the second week onwards The film has still not reached the 100 crore nett mark for the Hindi version despite that huge first weekend. Its Hindi version stands at 99 crore while the dubbed formats are at 5.50 crore nett. There are two holidays on Tuesday and Wednesday which will will boost the collections but the fact is that the film has not really much found appreciation and will scrape through to HIT status but it is mainly due to the Mahendra Singh Dhoni factor rather than the film itself. Overseas was worse than India as it crashed badly adding just about $1 million after its first weekend of $3.25 million. Despite a $3.25 million weekend the film is unlikely to hit the $5 million mark.

M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY (Hindi) had a huge jump on its second Saturday as it grossed around 6 crore nett and growth of 50% apprx. The film is tax free in UP and Maharashtra in the second and that is helping the NETT collections. These two states are among the ones which have the highest entertainment tax rates. These tax exemptions will now help the lifetime NETT collections to 115 crore nett plus. A final 115 crore nett total will make it the fourth highest grosser of the year after SULTAN, RUSTOM and AIRLIFT but in terms of GROSS it may still remain below HOUSEFULL 3. Ther Tamil and Telugu versions have fallen very badly in the second week and will finish at around 6-6.25 crore nett after a 5 crore nett week.

M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY fell heavily on day eight with collections in the 3.25-3.50 crore nett range. The drop is over 80% from day one and the film has also fallen around 25-30% from Thursday. This is with the washout collections of MIRZYA and other releases but if they had collected better as it should have then the drop for M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY could have been more. Still despite the drop it still has the best collections compared to the new releases and 3.35 crore nett for day eight is not great but not bad either. The only problem is how fast the collections have come down which makes it a moderate success rather than a major one which it looked after three days. There are holidays this week for Dusshera and Muharram on Tuesday and Wednesday which should help the film to a 20 crore nett plus second week. Then there are two weeks till Diwali which have no major releases and so the film should hang around and could finish with a final total in the 110-115 crore nett range.
