The collections of LAAL KAPTAAN crashed out on Monday and it will do around 2.50 crore nett for the week. GHOST has very poor collections but did not drop much on Monday but it hardly matters as collections are so low. If there were no Diwali releases the film may have chased down LAAL KAPTAAN as its holding better.

MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL is better than the Hindi films but is not going anywhere. The film collected 50 lakhs nett on Monday and should do a first week number of 5.25-5.50 crore nett.

The new Hindi releases fared poorly over the weekend as they opened to dull collections and there was not much growth. The Hollywood film MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL also did not do well but was far better than the Hindi films. It at least managed to show an upturn over the weekend.

LAAL KAPTAAN was the biggest release out of the Hindi films and it was a total disaster with insanely low occupancy all over. GHOST is also very poor though it managed the best growth out of the Hindi films but that is not saying much as others hardly showed growth.

P SE PYAAR F SE FARAAR was the only other film to register some collections but it had bulk buys over the weekend as nearly all the collection seem to be coming from one multiplex chain while all other cinemas performed at far lower levels.

The collections of the new releases on Friday are as follows.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

The new Hindi releases had very dull collections and it was Hollywood release MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL which had the best collections even though they were also very poor. LAAL KAPTAAN was the best of Hindi films but it had a far better release than the other releases. The collections of the film are a total disaster going even lower than the likes of THE ZOYA FACTOR and PRASSTHANAM released a few weeks back.

The film P SE PYAAR F SE FARAAR got 20 lakhs nett on day one but this film had block bookings of 10 lakh prior to release at a big national multiplex chain. All the Hindi releases and MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL do not stand much chance at the box office. There could be some growth on Saturday but that will be it.

The collections of the new releases on Friday are as follows.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil - 70,00,000 apprx
Laal Kaptaan - 50,00,000 apprx
Ghost - 35,00,000 apprx
P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar - 20,00,000 apprx

GUMNAAMI, JACQUELINE I AM COMING, JUNCTION VARANASI, LIFE MEIN TIME NAHI HAI KISI KO, OFFICER ARJUN SINGH IPS and YAARAM all had collections in the 0-3 lakh nett range.
