HATE STORY 3 grossed 6 crore nett in its second weekend to take its business to 41 crore nett. The business of HATE STORY 3 in the second weekend is as follows.

The film is likely to finish its lifetime business at around 44-45 crore nett as there will be no practically no business after two weeks. A nice little window at the box office has enabled it to be a good little earner.

HATE STORY 3 benefited from lack of competition, although collections are down over 80% from day one that is still okay for this genre considering it did open well. The drop would have 90% if there was competition from a new release. The business of HATE STORY 3 till date is as follows.

Day Eight - 1.25-1.50 crore apprx
Total - 36.25 crore plus

The growth will be limited over the weekend compare to other films which jump 75% plus on second Saturdays. But still it will be a respectable weekend and a lifetime total comfortably over 40 crore nett.

HATE STORY 3 had a good first week of 35.08 crore nett despite collections dropping on the weekdays. The film has done well in UP, Maharashtra, CP Berar, CI and Nizam but even these areas found it hard to hold in the weekdays. In fact the areas where opening was not so strong were holding a bit better. CP Berar grossed 2.50 crore nett in week one which is a very good total.

The weekend was similar to last years hit RAGINI MMS 2 which was a similar genre but the week ended lower as that film had grossed 37 crore nett in its first week as it held better.

The film should be able to cross the 40 crore nett mark but that will depend on what happens on day eight as there will be a big drop due to dropping weekday collections. But no competition from new releases there should be some respectable collections.

HATE STORY 3 had a normal drop on Tuesday of around 15%. The daily first five day business of HATE STORY 3 is as follows.

The film has done its best business in UP, CP Berar, CI. In these areas it will beat the business of the bigger film TAMASHA which was released two weeks back.

HATE STORY 3 did good weekend business thanks to business in UP, CP Berar, CI, Nizam and Maharashtra (outside Mumbai city and Pune). The best day was the first day but this can happen with this genre especially when it opens well. The daily first weekend business of HATE STORY 3 is as follows.

Although the film will find it hard to sustain even in its best circuits, the weekend business is enough to pull it through. HATE STORY grossed 12 crore nett and HATE STORY 2 grossed 23 crore nett and HATE STORY 3 is similar to Hate Story 2 in three days. The costs have also gone up but HATE STORY 3 should emerge the biggest success in this franchise so far.

HATE STORY 3 dropped 55% apprx from its Friday business which is a more than the normal Monday drop but its not too bad for this genre. The daily first four day business of Hate Story 3 is as follows.

The first week seems to be heading for 34 crore nett which is pretty good. If comparing with similar type of films it will beat JISM 2 though it may fall short of the business of RAGINI MMS 2 which till date is the highest grossing film in the erotic thriller genre though the box office of that film was hugely aided by the song Baby Doll which was probably the biggest hit song of 2014.

HATE STORY 3 did well on day one as it grossed around 8.75 crore nett though the collections did falter a little after the early shows at places where it had taken a strong opening. This will probably mean a drop on Saturday but still due to the start it should get a healthy weekend of over 20 crore nett. The film scored well in places like UP, CP Berar, CI and Nizam.

The drop in certain areas suggests that the film is probably going to have to depend on what it can do in the first week despite little competition next week. The issue with this genre is that most of the recovery has to come from India theatrical and so it can't afford collections to drop too much after the first day.

RAGINI 2 released last year was of a similar genre also managed a similar opening day to HATE STORY 3 and then went on to do 46 crore nett business and that is probably the target of HATE STORY 3.

The drops were there in most of the circuits. The business on Sunday may grow but it will be limited growth with the best case being a total similar to Friday though that won't be easy.
