IB 71 had a good hold on Monday on low collections. The drop is only around 25-30% as the film collected in the 1.25 crore nett range. This gives it a total of 8.75 crore nett and looking at a 12 crore nett first week. If the film can the continue with Friday being around the 1 crore nett mark or better, it will be a decent result for the film.
But for the film to have any chance of 1 crore nett on Friday, it must sustain well over the next few days. Normally this sort of steady hold on Monday means weekdays should remain steady. But the little issue is that the film is a thriller which is a genre that finds it harder to sustain.
The four day numbers of IB 71 are as follows.
Friday - 1,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 8,75,00,000 apprx
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 is doing decent business as it has reached a total of 44 crore nett after eleven days. It should now easily cross the 50 crore nett making it highest Hollywood grosser of 2023 so far. The film is holding well and that is not just in India but also across the world.
The collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Week One - 34,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,60,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Second Week - 10,20,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 44,20,00,000 apprx
CHATRAPATHI is dull as it collected around 20 lakhs nett on Monday. The first week business of the film will fold up at around 1.75 crore nett. The film has collected much more than the south dubbed films of last week VIRUPAKSHA and RAMABANAM but that is not saying much as both were under 10 lakhs nett for the week.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 collected a fair 35 crore nett in week one as collections held up well on the weekdays until a drop came came on the final day of the week. Still it is trending well for this type of Hollywood film and should put up healthy numbers over the weekend.
The performance of the film is going to be better than ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA which collected 41 crore nett plus. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 may well have covered this by the end of the second weekend and if not, it is certain to be higher by the end of week two.
The top film from Hollywood this year is JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 with collections of 50 crore nett and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 has a chance of chasing that down. But with FAST X releasing next week, it could be that 50 crore nett is not the highest number by the time GUARDIANS gets there.
The first week collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 3,10,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 34,85,00,000 apprx

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 had seen a fair hold on Monday as it collected 3.25 crore nett. The drop is a little more than 50% but films likes these have been seeing drops of 60-70% on Monday. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA dropped over 70% on Monday.
A film that did well like THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER also dropped more than this film. Generally, these action films from Hollywood where day one is driven by advances have seen big drops on Monday.
The collections of the film are now 26 crore nett and with this Monday hold it should do well well on weekends and can target the 50 crore number or at least get close. If this happens, it will be a decent result as 50 crore nett is a solid number for this franchise which has never found an audience in India.
The four day collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 26,25,00,000 apprx

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 had a moderate weekend of 23 crore nett as the film failed to build on a decent start. The jump on Saturday should have been more and Sunday was par for the course for Hollywood. The fact that the film comes under the Marvel brand meant good advances and healthy weekend collections.
The growth of the Marvel brand in India has meant that films associated with the brand are getting some collections but the real thing is AVENGERS or SPIDER-MAN as far as box office goes. The huge DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS initial was because the character came in the SPIDER-MAN film just a few months earlier.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 1 did 11 crore nett and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 managed 16 crore nett. This film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of part one and two despite not really doing well. It has been left behind by THE KERALA STORY which had a similar first day but Sunday is 90% higher. However, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 has played its part in a good weekend for cinemas as it pushes the combined weekend to 56 crore nett.
The three day collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 23,00,00,000 apprx

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 did decent business on day one as it collected around 6.75 crore nett. Again, since it a film of the Marvel brand, it got good advances but the collections in current run at a slow place. But for the GUARDIANS franchise, these numbers are solid as the franchise has never really collected in India.
The last film in 2017 had collections under 20 crore nett and here that will be covered over the weekend.
