GOODBYE collected only 3.75 crore nett in its first weekend. The film had a dull first day and the trajectory post the that was not good enough for a film which opens to such low numbers. The numbers of the film are lower than JHUND which was similar to this, maybe not in genre but in cast.

JHUND had managed to get an opening weekend of 5 crore nett as it got some collections in Maharashtra. GOODBYE is a film for streaming today but the big streaming players are adamant on a theatrical release before streaming. So the theatrical release basically becomes a token gesture and all you can do is hope to get some people in. The discounted rates on day one did not work for the film either.

The collections of GOODBYE are as follows. 

Friday - 90,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,35,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 1,50,00,000 apprx

GOODBYE collected around 1.35 crore nett on its second showing growth of around 50%. The growth is not enough for the film and this is when Saturday looked good for the box office with some huge growth for holdover films like PONNIYIN SELVAN - PART 1 and BRAHMASTRA which roughly doubled their Friday collections.

Nothing much was expected from GOODBYE and the box office performance reflects that. Sunday is unlikely to help as the key day for these type of films is Saturday and 50% growth is just not good enough.

VIKRAM VEDHA went up well on its second Saturday as collections were around 60-65% up for a 4-4.25 crore nett total on its second Saturday. This takes the film to 65 crore nett and its looking at a 90 crore nett finish.

Saturday - 4,00,00,000 apprx

Second Weekend - 6,50,00,000 apprx

The new release GOODBYE collected a poor 90 lakhs nett on day one. The film had discounted rates on day one but it did not really work for the film as collected are less than DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER on day one when it should really have been more.

DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER got the benefit of cinema day and tickets rate worth Rs. 75 while the Rs. 150 has not really worked here as GOODBYE should be collecting more than the R Madhavan starrer in any situation. There should be some growth over the weekend but you cant go anywhere from this sort of start.
