Evelyn Sharma and her husband Tushaan Bhindi, who became parents to Ava in November 2021, are all set to welcome their second baby. The actress announced the news with a social media post, flaunting her baby bump. The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress, who is now based in Australia, says, “We always dreamed of having a big family of our own. Ava is such a beautiful little person, and it makes you want another one. We wanted the kids to be close in age so they can grow up together. We are excited that our second baby is on the way!”

Evelyn says that while Ava is too young to understand that she will soon have a sibling. “But she likes poking my belly button,” laughs Evelyn.

The actress says that she is far more relaxed this time around. “I was extremely anxious during my first pregnancy. I was scared about what was happening to my body and how to protect the baby. This time around I’m a lot more relaxed and distracted since Ava needs my attention. I think the first child is such a shock to the system and your life changes suddenly forever,” she says.

Ask her whether she is prepared to handle two kids, and she says, “Motherhood is a challenge and nothing really prepares you for it. However, it is also very rewarding. Two kids surely mean twice the trouble, but it is also twice the fun!”

Last seen in Saaho in 2019, Evelyn, who has worked in films like Yaariyan, Hindi Medium and Jab Harry Met Sejal, got married to Tushaan in May 2021. Talking about her work, the actress shares, “I’m continuing with my podcast, but I am not taking up films at the moment. I feel long-term projects could be too demanding. I’m enjoying this phase of my life.”

She took to Instagram to share a selfie while cradling her baby bump. She also shared another picture, a close-up shot of the bump. Soon after her post, many of her friends and fans dropped congratulatory messages for the mum to-be.

Alongside the pictures on Instagram, Sharma wrote, “Can’t wait to hold you in my arms!! (pink heart with star emoji). Baby #2 is on the way (hatching chick and smiling face with red heart eyes emojis).” She used ‘baby bhindi’, ‘baby number 2’, ‘another one’, ‘Evelyn Sharma’, ‘growing our family’,’ family is everything’ and ‘love’ as the hashtags on the post.

The actor married the Australia-based dental surgeon in 2021.

Recently, actor Evelyn Sharma took to social media to share a photo of herself breastfeeding her two-month-old daughter, Ava Bhindi, and discussed how cluster feeding has become a part of her daily routine. 

A month ago, she posted a similar image, which, like the current one, drew support. However, both posts were slammed by a few netizens who urged Sharma to keep her private photos off social media. But the 35-year-old says she would rather focus on the positive messages:  “I want to share my journey as a new mother with my friends and fans. It’s important for me to keep my social media personal and not just work-related.” 

Dismissing the trolls, the Saaho (2019) actor shares, “Breastfeeding is one of the most natural things you can do. So why be shy about it?”

She hopes that the post will encourage young mothers and even nudge their partners to be more supportive of them. “Breastfeeding is much tougher than people think. It is often physically and mentally exhausting, particularly during cluster feeds. I shared my story to let mums out there know that they aren’t alone in this,” concludes the actor.

Evelyn Sharma is positively glowing. The mother-to-be is excited with her first baby on the way. She tied the knot with beau Dr Tushaan Bhindi in a beautiful countryside ceremony near Brisbane in Australia on May 15. And their baby is all she has on her mind right now. Speaking exclusively to BT from her home in Australia, the Saaho actress says, “We are very excited and can’t wait to hold our little one in our arms very soon! It’s a girl and we are thrilled.”

Along with Tushaan, the two have made a few changes in their home, to prepare for their new addition. “We’ve set up a cute and cosy nursery for our little princess, but I know that the first couple of months she will be sleeping in a cot next to us. We’re very grateful for the beautiful gifts we are receiving from our family and friends and are looking forward to all of them meeting baby Bhindi soon,” she adds.

For the moment, Evelyn’s taking it slow with things she loves like her hobby of gardening. She says, “Doing slow yoga and pilates at least once a week feels great to stretch your growing body. Now that I’m coming towards the end of my pregnancy, I have to take things slower on the gardening and work front. It’s time to put my feet up and enjoy a good TV show. Becoming mom and dad is a great and wonderful change we’ve been waiting for. We can’t wait to become parents!”
