MANIKARNIKA - THE QUEEN OF JHANSI (Hindi) had a decent third week with collections in the 10 crore nett range. This has taken the total of the film to 87.50 crore nett and the film has done well to come this far as the opening day was not even 8 crore nett. The film did not get a Valentines Day boost as it lost screens due to the release of GULLY BOY. The film should be able to finish a little over 90 crore nett.

The film will not even do 20 crore nett box office and these collections say it all. The only plus is that its lucky that there were no stars in the film as it would be professional harakiri and hopefully the few stars we have will keep away from these type of subjects in the future.

The film has faced total rejection at the box office and its not just because of the film is unrelatable due to it being on lesbians but the added bonus for the few who actually went to watch it is that the film itself is very bad.

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA is a FLOP film as it collected 16.50 crore nett in the first week with fast dropping collections on the weekdays. This is no surprise as it was not even about the content as the subject itself was a no no.

The film had a poor start and the game was up on Friday evening itself as the film did not show the evening growth that the smaller films do if they are going have huge weekend growth. The business was a dull across all circuits of India with Delhi/UP being the circuit that out performed a little. This is mainly due to a high concentratation of high end multiplexes in Delhi NCR.

The film was best in US/Canada where the first week will do $800k and it could cross $1 million in that market which is pretty good especially considering how bad it is in India. There is no major competition from Hindi films this week but EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA is not going to go much higher than 20 crore nett lifetime business.

MANIKARNIKA - THE QUEEN OF JHANSI (Hindi) dropped 63% in week two which is a pretty good hold. It did see a drop on the second Friday but then held over the rest of the second week. The film now has a decent two week total of 77.50 crore nett and these are good numbers for a solo female lead film and will beat all barring TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS and RAAZI.

Overall the film is an AVERAGE fare though if it maintains a strongly over the next 2 weeks it could go a notch higher. The film has been mainly let down by business in Mumbai circuit especially Gujarat.

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA fell further on Tuesday as collections were 10% lower than Monday. It would not have been difficult to hold at Monday levels considering how low the Monday was but it fell again due to the rejection by the paying public.

The total of the film is 14.30 crore nett and its looking a 16.50 crore nett finish for the week and this could make even the 20 crore nett mark a difficult task. The only place that the film has done half decent business is US/Canada where it could go to $1 million depending on what happens on the second Friday.

Despite those half decent figures in US/Canada the Overseas numbers are still not good as the film was not able to release in Gulf due to the content.

There was 40% growth on Saturday which can be regarded good for some films but for this film which did not open and the bulk of the business coming from multiplexes which have the best growth on Saturday, it is a bad result. The collections on Saturday were 4 crore nett giving it a two day total of 6.75 crore nett. The subject matter of the film has been rejected outright which is no surprise.

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA was a poor fare at the box office as it collected 11.25 crore nett in 3 days. The film opened poorly and did not grow as it should at the high end multiplexes on Saturday which were the only theaters it had a chance in.  The collections on Sunday were pretty much flat as families were never going to be interested in this sort of content even though from one angle you can call it a family film.

The film has faced rejection and the Monday collections will show that. It also completed a hat-trick of flops for Vinod Chopra Films and Anil Kapoor  with PARINDA, 1942 - A LOVE STORY and now EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA with this one being the worst of the lot because at least the first two did decent in Mumbai and parts of South. It took 30 years to complete this unwanted hay-trick.

The banner Vinod Chopra Films has one phenomenal record. It has been around for around for 33 years and is yet to deliver a HIT when Rajkumar Hirani is not associated with the film. The only winner with this film is also Rajkumar Hirani who had his name taken out as a co - producer for this film even though the reason is a matter you don't really want to be involved in.

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA sealed its fate on Monday as collections went down to 1.50 crore nett. The drop is far too much for a film that did not open and occupancy is too low for it to stand any chance. These types really have to be close to first day collections on Monday to have a chance of really working. The fate of the film is not surprising due to the theme of the film and even before release it was on the cards.

The film has now collected 13 crore nett in the first week and will probably go to 17 crore nett in the first week. This means the first week business will be lower than films like THE ACCIDENTAL PRIME MINISTER and THACKERAY and it is possible that the lifetime will also be less than a film like THE ACCIDENTAL PRIME MINISTER.

Delhi/UP will probably be the best circuit for the film but lifetime will be just 5 crore nett.

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA collected 2.75-3 crore nett at the box office on the first day which is a low collection. The film had nothing really going for it so its actually not too bad of a number. The cast was not there and the music had not worked also. Even the story from the trailer looks weak and not relatable.

The film only has chances at select multiplexes of the five metros and because of that there should be growth on Saturday and it could even be big growth as the multiplexes where this film can do better are the ones which see best growth on Saturday. But the key is that can Sunday grow well and what happens Monday. The film grossed around 85 and 75 lakh in  Mumbai and Delhi/UP respectively and these were the main main markets.

There was a Hollywood release like ESCAPE ROOM but it could not do well with around 30 lakhs nett.
