Disha Patani in the song, Do you
Disha Patni to feature in a special track titled Do you, in Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 3
Sonia Lulla (MID-DAY; February 26, 2020)

If the past few months are testimony, cinephiles were certainly eager to see Disha Patani feature in Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming actioner Baaghi 3. While it was initially suggested that Patani would play a cameo in the film, rumour mills later indicated that she would feature alongside Shroff in the remake of Dus bahane. While both suggestions turned out to be inaccurate, Patani confirms to mid-day that she will be seen in the Ahmed Khan film in a special track titled Do you.

"It is a song that will certainly get one grooving. When I heard it for the first time, I was excited. I've never attempted this specific style of dance before. It was challenging, but I enjoyed shooting for it. Adil sir [Shaikh, choreographer] has shot it well, and Ahmed sir ensured I look my best. I hope audiences love it," Patani says.

Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and rendered by Nikhita Gandhi, the track is a remake of British record producer TroyBoi's Do you. Apart from the hook line, the rest of the verses will be in Hindi.

Disha Patani is more than just a pretty face and a hot body-Mohit Suri

Titas Chowdhury (HINDUSTAN TIMES; January 13, 2020)

For Mohit Suri, success doesn’t equate to money. He believes in making films that helps him give out talent and stars to the industry. “You won’t be remembered by how much money you make, but you’ll be remembered for whatever you give back to the industry,” he states. The filmmaker who’s gearing up for the release of Malang says that with the film, he wants to show everyone a new version of Disha Patani. He says, “The whole world feels that Disha is just a pretty face and a hot body. She has something more in her. She’s got head and heart too.”

But ask him about her glamorous avatar in the film and Mohit says, “There is a perfect blend of glam quotient and bohemian vibe surrounding the character, both qualities which I could imagine Disha to complement effortlessly. The response to Disha’s role has been great so far. I’m sure the audience will be able to connect with her even more after watching Malang.”

He says that Disha is a shining example of an emotionally strong and carefree girl that made her fit the bill in Malang. He says, “Disha is a strong and fearless girl. So, she comprehended the character’s qualities very smoothly. Her character, Sara’s a free-spirited, wild-soul who lives life on her own terms and Disha suited this character the best.”

Talking about the women in his films, he says, “I believe women are emotionally stronger than men and have a better way of handling everything. I’ve been around women who’ve been strong inside-out and I really respect them for that. I guess it’s this very ideology that I’ve grown up with that translates on screen each time.”

For Bharat, Disha Patani finds her muse in Helen

Avinash Lohana (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 2, 2019)

Everybody’s talking about the sizzling chemistry between Salman Khan and Disha Patani in the “Slow Motion” song from the Ali Abbas Zafar directed Bharat. The actress surprisingly bears a striking resemblance to Helen and Ashley Rebello, who has designed Disha’s look, confirms that along with other actresses of the swinging ‘60s like Nanda and Asha Parekh, the club dancer from the Teesri Manzil chartbuster “O Haseena Zulfonwali” and “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu” from Howrah Bridge was on his mind. “We borrowed a lot from these songs, from the tassles to the hair-styles. Ali was very clear her look should be sensuous and classy rather than overtly showy,” says Ashley, who also found references from Hollywood films and the Russian circus.

Disha plays a trapeze artiste in the upcoming Eid release and in a recent interview to Mirror, she had said that she enjoys doing such peppy, massy numbers. Ashley says she loved the outfit and has been sending him thank you messages for the compliments that she has been receiving.

“Disha is a pleasure to work with, the only thing she ever said is that she knows she is in the hands of professionals who know their jobs and will make her look good,” he smiles.

Was Raveena Tandon’s sunny yellow saree from Mohra’s rain-drenched “Tip Tip Barsa Paani” also a muse? “We had initially planned on a yellow and red saree but eventually settled for yellow. No, Raveena’s saree was not on my mind, This is more of a dhoti saree, contemporary with a flair of the ‘60s,” he signs off.

DNA (January 16, 2019)

Disha Patani, who will be seen next in Bharat as a trapeze artiste, keeps posting her workout videos and high-octane action stunts on Instagram. What’s interesting is that the actress receives more messages from girls than boys on the picture sharing site. A source close to the actor says, “Disha, who is quite popular on social media, was surprised to see her popularity amongst female fans. She has been receiving a lot of DMs (direct messages) not only from male fans but also from all her female ones who are in awe of her fitness and lifestyle. Girls are curious to know about Disha’s fitness regime and the routine she follows.”

Running a marathon is on my bucket list-Disha Patani

Disha Patani on the DNA iCan initiative and why fitness is for all...
Nayandeep Rakshit (DNA; March 25, 2017)

Over the past year, if we’ve learned anything about Disha Patani, it’s that she’s fit and flaunting it. Look at her Instagram videos and posts and you will know what we are talking about! She is one of the fittest Gen-Y actresses today and that’s why we decided to get her to talk about fitness. Here’s what she said...

Daily routine
I follow a routine on a daily basis, which comprises dance class, gymnastics and going to the gym. I also spend about half an hour on yoga, too.

Fitness is…
Being active, being able to sustain and survive any task in any given situation and come out a winner.

Necessity or love?
I was always into sports and as a sportsperson, you need to be fit to survive and play from start to finish. As I grew up, I started practising gymnastics. I love dancing as well. So that keeps me fit.

Run a marathon?
I haven’t, yet. But it is definitely on my bucket list and I plan to strike it off soon.

Principles of fitness
Discipline, dedication, stamina and endurance.

Fitness for everyone!
Not just women, people in general should be fit. They should engage in at least one activity daily — be it jogging, swimming, dancing, etc.

On DNA iCan
It’s a beautiful initiative where women come together and they run for themselves which, in turn, is gonna help others, too. It’s a brilliant idea.

While most actresses are into pilates, yoga, cross-fit and weight training to keep themselves fit, Disha Patani prefers to do gymnastics. More interestingly, the young actress trains at a studio with a group of local boys. Says Disha, “I always wanted to do gymnastics. However, when I was younger, my family did not want me to take up either gymnastics, taekwondo or any of the martial arts forms. But when I watched this video of a group of boys from Tiger’s (Shroff) team doing gymnastics I loved it and decided to train with them. One of the boys from that group trains me.” Since it is a rigorous form of sport, Disha does it on alternate days. “There is a lot of stretching that tests your flexibility so you can’t do it everyday. Your body needs rest,” she explains.

Another sport Disha loves is basketball, which she played in school and was a state-level player. “I have always been into sports and luckily all these things have helped in my fitness too,” smiles the actress. An avid dancer — she used to shake a leg in front of the mirror when she was a child — Disha has taken up the hip-hop dance form to train. “Earlier I used to watch videos and dance, now I have my own team and I am enjoying it,” she says.
