The numbers of DHURANDHAR went up on Tuesday and this was without the discounted ticket rates. This is very rare and the Tuesday is much higher than the first day if we take the real collections of the film into account. There is no doubt now the film can go anywhere from here due to a crazy trend from day one till day five in terms of real collections.

The picture is getting clearer now with this film as it looks a huge block buys on the first day and minimal after that with the film actually working on merit. But those huge buys means you could not see it in the collections. There is no doubt the buys were there which gives a wrong picture. Obviously now it looks the fear was for the opening day which probably lead to panic and things done in a hurry which were so blatant that even a little kid could see.

The film is now on a run and pretty much unstoppable though the wait is for week two because if there is no drastic drop, then only you can be sure sure its actual collections at these high levels and not just numbers. Simply put, the industry has to get of this feeding business out as it puts a stigma on that film no matter how little you may add the industry will think its much much more. The fact remains that post pandemic within the industry only GADAR 2 and ANIMAL, out of the big grossers and original Hindi films, are seen as organic BLOCKBUSTERS and that is what the others have to try and achieve and be totally clean so no doubt can arise.

DHURANDHAR is on a superb run overseas as it shows super strong trend on the weekdays. The film has collected almost $6 million in the first five days and the week will close at around $7.75-8 million. These collections have all come without a Gulf release and if that was there, it would have become the biggest film in Overseas of 2025. There is Christmas and New Year to come. So, it is still a possibility that it becomes the biggest film in Overseas even without Gulf though a lot depends on the second Friday which can be higher than the first Friday.

Although its not the type to score with the traditional Gulf audience, there has been a lot of migration from South India and this audience with have made sure that Gulf put up a strong total as well. The film is excellent in US/Canada and Australia while United Kingdom is also very good considering the religious and political zone of the film.

The best comparison is FIGHTER which did around $8.25 million in the first week also without Gulf and here DHURANDHAR may fall a little short. However, the lifetime numbers of FIGHTER now look easy and it will go far ahead.

DHURANDHAR is set to create history in its second week as it heads for the highest second Friday of all time which should lead to the highest second week of all time as well. This includes beating all the original Hindi films and also PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) on the second Friday. The film is looking to be on its second Friday as compared to the Thursday and that Thursday itself is higher than any second Friday.

That's not all. The film will also have a chance to become the first film in history to have a second week of 200 crore nett. There are a few obstacles in front of this including the Saturday growth and Monday hold but the chance is there. The film is now all over national television due to its political content and has basically become THE KASHMIR FILES on steroids.

After the initial issues, the film is now on such a run that it should reach the 500 crore nett mark and could even become the highest grossing ORIGINAL Hindi film of all time. Such is the momentum at present. The record is presently held by STREE 2 at 575 crore nett and although that it looks far away at the moment, it has a chance in a matter of the next 7-10 days if this momentum holds.

The biggest film in Hindi of all time is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE at a little over 700 crore nett which is probably hard to chase down due to DHURANDHAR struggling for an initial. But there is a second part of the film coming in a few months time to attempt to chase down that huge record.

DHURANDHAR set a record on its second Friday with the highest collections of 30 crore nett approx which smashed the previous record of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE by a distance. Not only is the record there but these is a healthy 20% jump from the previous day which is rarity especially for a film doing business at these levels.

After the initial issues, the collections are now all organic and the film is on a run to challenge all the biggest original Hindi films and remains to be seen where it ends. The biggest is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE but that maybe a step too far but you never know with Christmas holidays to come. The hype has gone to another level with whatever the political issues are in the film being discussed on national television which takes the film to a wider audience. Mumbai circuit remains best but mass circuits are doing much better now as compared to the opening.

This Friday means that huge record of a 200 crore nett second week is on and going by advances, the Saturday number has the potential of going to an insane 50 crore nett which will consolidate the Friday number.

DHURANDHAR recorded the highest second Friday of all time and that to by a margin as it collected around 30 crore nett. The previous record was held by PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE at around 24.50 crore nett. This means DHURANDHAR is not only the first film to hit 30 crore nett but also the first film to cross 25 crore nett on its second Friday.

The highest second Friday for an original Hindi film is CHHAAVA which picked up around 23 crore nett. So, DHURANDHAR is ahead by 7 crore nett and above that film which is a pretty crazy margin especially for a second Friday. This year has been pretty dull in terms of huge numbers but these figures of DHURANDHAR are showing where we are today with ticket prices at an all time high.

The momentum is such that the records will continue as it becomes the first film to record a 50 crore nett day in the second week. It could come on Saturday and if not, then Sunday is sure to do. All second week records will be smashed and even though AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH is there, it could also smash all third week records.

The advances of AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH are good but its mainly down South meaning in Hindi circuits it could be DHURANDHAR leading next week also.

The figures of DHURANDHAR have been updated and the film stands at around 276 crore nett after nine days and is on course for an easy 500 crore nett total. It maybe even becomes the first original film in Hindi to hit 600 crore nett. The film is smashing all records in the second week and its likely this trend will continue into the third week even with the release of AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH.

The collections are updated mainly due to what happened with the film initially with the buys and although it was known on Sunday that the film had worked and the figures need adjustment, you just wait for the dust to settle and when it all becomes crystal clear what has happened.

The film did have a huge feed but it was mainly on the first day and it was very blatant done as probably, the did in a hurry as they probably got very worried about that opening day. It looked like a SKY FORCE or BHOOL CHUK MAAF type of feeding was happening which was not the case as the film itself started to the do the job and the makers stayed out after the first day though at that time its hard to believe due to the crazy stuff on the first day.

The film started on a bad note but such is the scenario now that its looking more organic than most of the other big original Hindi grossers. GADAR 2 and ANIMAL are the clean ones and here with DHURANDHAR, it looks the adds are going to be 1% or maybe even less of the total collections which is nothing compared to the manufacturing of collections which goes on in various ways today.

The film has worked in a big way but the question within is always what is the merited collection and with DHURANDHAR it looks 99% of it will be merited and its pretty much organic. Obviously there are still these fake media benchmarks to reach for the film be it 600, 700 and even the funniest of them all an 800 crore one. So, there could be some manufacturing for these but that does not change the scenario much.

The second week is like a first week for the film and DHURANDHAR is going to be competition releases coming in its way in the next few weeks rather than the other way around.

DHURANDHAR has collected around 24 crore nett at the box office but this with all the block bookings across the country which is feeding in actual context. The real number is around 30% less and so, it becomes around 17 crore nett. Normally when feeding is high like BHOOL CHUK MAAF or SKY FORCE, you don't bother with a real number as it does not matter as those films have little chance.

Here with DHURANDHAR, this is not the case and it does have a chance for some sort of total in real collections in the long run as without the block bookings. Some places have done decent and even the reports from these places are positive. This does not mean it can actually work but just you cant write it off just yet. So it is actually a wait and watch situation but unfortunately the talk within the industry becomes more about what is going on rather than the film.

So if the film actually does something, you have actually messed it up by feeding as the fed films just don't get the respect within the industry like the ones that are clean. The main problem for DHURANDHAR are the mass areas where the film just did not open be it UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, CI and even East Punjab. Some centres reflect this dull opening while others don't. The latter is because of the block bookings but take that initial was very dull.

There other side is Mumbai and South and if we take the genuine collections, they are decent here and reports from this side are also positive. So, its actually about where the urban centres can take it and maybe some other of the mini metros can pick up as well. The overseas markets like USA and Australia are also pretty good and that is also a positive for the film.

Hence, there are some positives while the negatives are mass circuit response and the feeding. The feeding will help as a higher number will get reported in media and even if its 27 or 28 crore nett. it hardly helps internally within the industry. It will be an interesting weekend and lets see what happens.

DHURANDHAR continued with its inflated numbers as the feeding spread to more cinemas than the first day. On the first day, the feeding was mainly concentrated on one chain but the second day saw this feeding go wider. The story of the film is something like the hero infiltrating the terrorists but here its become about infiltrating the multiplexes and buying tickets. The film itself may go not be able to go wider but makers have gone wider in buying tickets.

The numbers of the film are 24 crore nett on day one and around 27 crore nett on the second day but these are just numbers. In terms of collections, the figures are much lower but the trend is much better than these numbers show. The growth showing is around 13% but it could actually be more like 30% which is good and it could even be more than 30%.

Taking out all the crap that is going, the film has done decent business over the first two days. It has seen healthy gains on Saturday which gives the film a chance of holding on Monday and then running well for a few weeks. This would not mean much if it was one film but its turned into films and both films together can mean the budget of the film gets covered as long as the film holds on Monday.

The buying of tickets have made it into a farce. So, despite the film doing reasonable business so far, it all becomes about the buying and only god knows what is the aim of the makers in terms of perception. Overseas also shows that the film is doing pretty well but the makers are acting like its the end of the world.

The opening weekend numbers of DHURANDHAR are around 86.50 crore and these are just NUMBERS while the collections are much less. Nothing has been seen like this before as its makes SKY FORCE and BHOOL CHUK MAAF look like child's play. Also, it seems like the makers don't even want to hide what they are doing. There is no embarrassment of the feeding whatsoever and only god knows what this will lead to in 2026.

The collections of the PVR chain go around to practically everyone in the industry and this lot are showing a flat Saturday and huge growth on Sunday. Its a known fact across the industry this does not happen unless day one is a holiday. So these makers have some sort of endgame and its definitely not to hide the box office manipulation going on.

Now putting aside all this manipulation, the film in real terms has seen a good trend over the weekend though the real collections remain low for a film of this cost. The trend means that the Monday should see a hold from Friday but it has a lot of work to do because in reality the film did not open well. The trend is a positive but you just don't know how strong it actually is because of the feeding. These things will get clearer in the long run but if the film was left alone, it would actually be in a fair position with a chance of success. But obviously, the makers are looking for much more than success and show blockbuster success. 

The best markets are Mumbai and Mysore and generally there is some appreciation for the film with a section of the audience. With a second part to come, the overall picture for the film can be a positive in terms of financials when the second part is over with. The film would have been a goner if it was one film but that one film turned into two and some appreciation for the first one means you should get away with it.

DHURANDHAR was pitted with ANIMAL before release but the latter was basically a film on a family with strong human relationships putting aside the violence while DHURANDHAR is more of a urban violent action film. As a result, there was never going to be a comparison. Obviously with whatever numbers are going around in the media, the attempt will be to put it up there with the likes of ANIMAL and CHHAAVA which means selling both the films short.

The real comparisons in terms of the box office are films like FIGHTER and DUNKI and more so FIGHTER. The actual weekend collections are less than FIGHTER but the trend is stronger to make up this gap. The cost of FIGHTER is also the same if we take just DHURANDHAR's first part into account and not the second part. Overseas can also be compared as both films had no Gulf. Overseas is also less for DHURANDHAR but again can make up some ground.

Basically in real terms, the comparisons for this film is FIGHTER and not the likes of ANIMAL and CHHAAVA which the makers probably want to put in the same bracket.

The numbers of DHURANDHAR on Monday continued to be all over the place with some cinemas showing gains, some were flat while others saw drops. The biggest drop is the PVR chain which should actually be showing the best trend but here the figures are showing a 30% drop. It is a 100% certainty that manipulation has gone on and little attempt has been made to hide it.

Despite the manipulation, the film has worked as there are single screens which have collections that are similar on Monday to the Friday. Its unlikely these places were touched with the feeding as it serves little purpose as their collections are so less. Of course, these single screens were very low on Friday but still to be similar on Monday means the film has held up. Overseas is another sign which again is untouched and Monday is higher than Friday. 

The makers will also know the film has worked and they would have known this on Sunday morning and because of this they have not even gone with the discounted Tuesday. Nevertheless, they have really messed up with the feeding and more so in making it so blatant. There is appreciation and the film has been liked; its just that the figures are lower. Its a weird scenario with numbers manipulated but film being liked and doing well and also setting up the second part. If the feeding was not done, there would have been lesser numbers but no question marks over it as every film getting appreciation from the public is a plus at the moment for the industry.
