DHAMAAL 4 has collected a little over 2 crore nett in its sixth week showing a fair hold from the previous week as it takes its overall total to 159 crore nett. This will be it for the film as the two major releases, AWARAPAN 2 and BATWARA 1947, dominate the scene from here on. DHAMAAL 4 is the best performer over the June-July summer period and also got the best date as it was the last film to come come in a clogged up period.

The film has scored over the last film in the franchise by around 10 crore nett. In short, all films of the franchise have now done better than the predecessor. The film did not look like doing well with little urgency before release and the dull industry reports. However, the public has liked it well enough and that is what its all about.

DHAMAAL 4 will do around 53 crore nett in Mumbai circuit and 39 crore nett in Delhi/UP circuit with places like West Bengal and Mysore being less. The disappointment for the film is overseas where it will end up less than COCKTAIL 2 and WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE and will finish with similar numbers to ALPHA.

DHAMAAL 4 has managed to stay afloat in the fourth week as it collects 5.50 crore nett which is a drop of 70% from the last week but you take that with the release of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY. The film collected well over the weekend and got a good bump up on Tuesday due to the discounted rates.

The film now stands at around 156.50 crore and should finish at around 160 crore nett as it will get in another week before the releases of AWARAPAN 2 and BATWARA 1947 next week. This week there is not much competition with the main film being OHH MY DOG though it should do better than small Hindi films over the last few weeks. The film had paid previews on Thursday.

DHAMAAL 4 has reached around 52 crore nett in Mumbai but this is still less than TOTAL DHAMAAL as that did 56 crore nett. However, the all India total will surpass TOTAL DHAMAAL by around 10 crore nett. As compared to the last DHAMAAL film, the Delhi/UP circuit has done much better as has East Punjab.

DHAMAAL 4 will be the fifth highest grossing film in the comedy genre and probably the second if we take out the ones which came on a holiday period. HOUSEFULL 4 and GOLMAAL AGAIN were on Diwali and GOOD NEWWZ was New Year. The Diwali period is particularly beneficial for a comedy genre film. It is beneficial for all but a little extra for a comedy film that works.

HOUSEFULL 5 is actually the highest outside a Holiday period but that film was an underperformer due to costs and falling short of the earlier film in the franchise. Despite comedy being among the 4/5 main genres, it only came into its in the 90's as before that there were not many comedy films made as they had their limitations. Today they have limitations as well because the biggest ones are at 200 crore nett only that too in holiday periods. At the same time, it is one of the safest genres as can be seen with results of WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE and DHAMAAL 4.

Once the horror is sold then it becomes more of a horror film than comedy. The one in last position in the list is READY and this one is actually the biggest comedy genre film released post 2000.

DHAMAAL 4 continues to do well in its third weekend as it collects 12.50 crore nett with excellent growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film showed growth on its third Friday and then saw collections more than double on Saturday and followed with another near 30% jump on Sunday which is excellent.

The film now stands at over 145 crore nett and will be around 150 crore nett by the end of the week before SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY arrives. After a long time a Hollywood film is coming which can really put collections in the Hindi film circuits which will allow it have the one of the biggest openings ever for a Hollywood film. It could even challenge the biggest opening ever for a Hollywood film in India.

DHAMAAL 4 is probably looking at lifetime of 160-165 crore nett and whether its towards the lower end of this range or higher end will be determined where it stands when SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY arrives.

DHAMAAL 4 has got the second half of the year to a good start though overseas could have been better as it will beat in India but remain well short of TOTAL DHAMAAL in foreign markets. But that's where maybe the bigger cast of the TOTAL DHAMAAL came into play.

DHAMAAL 4 held up strong in its second weekend as it collected over 27 crore nett in its second weekend and now stands at 122 crore nett after ten days. The film held well up on the second Friday with a minimal drop and then Saturday and Sunday really fired as the families came back and hit double digits on both days. The growth was outstanding on Saturday and despite this huge growth on Saturday, it still went up very well on Sunday.

This weekend business gives potential for good weekday holds this week. If we compare with WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, then that film did around 30 crore nett plus over the whole second week and it could be that DHAMAAL 4 does what WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE did in the whole week in just four days. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE had ALPHA for competition while DHAMAAL 4 has THE ODYSSEY. Although it will not look like it it on paper as THE ODYSSEY is a HIT but ALPHA was the bigger competition as it was a Hindi film.

DHAMAAL 4 remained pretty much unaffected by THE ODYSSEY as collections across the Hindi speaking circuits were far better for DHAMAAL 4. The film is doing superb business in Mumbai circuit especially Gujarat/Saurashtra and continues the trend of Indra Kumar films scoring big in Gujarat since the days of DIL in 1990. Mumbai circuit stands at 40 crore nett and will easily go over 50 crore nett and maybe even cross the 55 crore nett of TOTAL DHAMAAL.

DHAMAAL 4 had a normal second Monday as it fell around 43% from Friday. Considering the weekend growth, it could have been on the right side of 40% but that does not matter much now. The film stands at 125 crore nett after 11 days and should be around 133 crore nett by the end of the week as it tries to chase down the figure of the last DHAMAAL film (150 crore nett).

The second week has collected 30 crore nett in four days and it should end with around 38 crore nett. The film does have discounted rates this week and it jumped well last week without them. So, the growth should be much better this week. But its hard to tell how this works and its a week to week thing. This is because some Tuesdays see more growth and others less.

DHAMAAL 4 showed a good jump on Tuesday due to the discounted rates with collections of 3.75 crore nett which now takes the second week collections to 34 crore nett. The second week should end in the 38-39 crore nett range. This would make it the fourth best second week after DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, BORDER 2 and BHOOTH BANGLA, though there is an outside chance it could beat BHOOTH BANGLA.

The overall total stands at 129 crore nett and after the collections today, it will go ahead of the figures of WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE. The target is to cross the 150 crore nett mark and it may achieve that by the end of the third week depending on the drop this Friday. There is no major release though many small films are releasing.

DHAMAAL 4 had a good second week collecting 38.50 crore nett which is a 60% apprx drop from the first week. The film now stands at 133 crore nett and the 150 crore nett business of TOTAL DHAMAAL should be easily achievable from here. The film faces little competition this week which should hold up its collections well.

The drops for the film have come on Wednesday and Thursday and this coupled with no major release will mean a good hold on the third Friday. There is SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY next week but by that time, the business of DHAMAAL 4 will be done and it will be down to under 1 crore nett daily levels. The lifetime of the film at present looks in he 155 crore nett range.

DHAMAAL 4 is set for another good week as it collected 2.25 crore nett on its third Friday. The film now stands 135.50 crore nett and is sure to be the biggest film of the DHAMAAL series. This is a solid result as in terms of scale and cast, this film is weaker than the last DHAMAAL film and yet, it is coming out with a better number. The film continues to score well in Mumbai circuit and should be around 50 crore nett by the end of the weekend.

DHAMAAL 4 had an excellent Saturday as collections almost doubled up as it collected 10 crore nett which takes the film to around 110 crore nett in nine days. The film is super strong in mass belts but even at metros, the jump was huge on Saturday despite the competition of THE ODYSSEY which is doing fantastic in these centres.

The film consolidated the Friday hold very well on Saturday. In the Hindi circuits, THE ODYSSEY is not competition as, on Saturday, DHAMAAL 4 was ahead across UP, MP, Rajasthan, Bihar and Gujarat. The film has 15.25 crore nett up on the board over two days of the second week and there will be a big Sunday to come.

THE ODYSSEY is set to emerge a HIT film in India at the very least as collections jumped well on Saturday as it collected 20.75 crore nett after collecting 16 crore nett on Friday taking its total to 36.75 crore nett. The growth is 30% but its a premiere format film and many of these properties are getting full in advance. So, there is a limit to the growth as much of the audience of this film wants to watch in these premiere formats and this can be seen by the advance for Monday in these properties.

The director of the film Christopher Nolan has a following in the metros of India be it North or South and its rare for this to happen. In the South, it happens but in Hindi markets, its rare. It may only be the likes of Mumbai, Pune and NCR but there is no Hindi film director today who has such a name and can pull audiences in even in these cities.

DHAMAAL 4 had a good first week collecting almost 95 crore nett as it scored a good weekend and then has also held up well over the weekdays though there was a noticeable fall on the last two days of the week. The first week has turned out a little better than WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE and it should also do more than that film post week one.

It was DHAMAAL 4 which stopped WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE becoming a bonafide HIT as collections dropped on the third Friday due to the release of the former. DHAMAAL 4 was also for the same audience with minor regionality difference. This should not be an issue for DHAMAAL 4 as it should complete a solid 3-4 week run and emerge a HIT. If this happens, it will be only HIT of this summer season and the fourth HIT film of the year.

The film got a big thumbs down from the media and the digital world and even most of the industry is looking at as a poor film. But when the audience may well take the film to 150 crore nett, then what does it matter what is being said as whatever the makers did was right and the rest can go and jump in a well as its always about the WATCHERS and not TALKERS. If it was about the TALKERS, then a film like MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA would have done double or treble or even more of what it is doing now.

DHAMAAL 4 had a very good hold on its second Friday as it collected 5.25 crore nett which is just a 10% drop from the Thursday despite competition from a big release from Hollywood like THE ODYSSEY. But THE ODYSSEY could not make much of a mark in the Hindi speaking circuits which meant DHAMAAL 4 was not affected much in these places.

The second Friday number confirms that DHAMAAL 4 is a HIT and it will get through week three comfortably which WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE could not. The next text will be SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY in the fourth week, which will hit it more than THE ODYSSEY. But by then, the job will will be done for DHAMAAL 4 and collections will be at lower levels.

DHAMAAL 4 collected 6.75 crore nett on Wednesday which is a drop from the previous day but still a good collection. The Wednesday drop seems to be coming irrespective of what is done on Tuesday. The ticket prices were not dropped on Tuesday but the film still dropped while a WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, which did drop prices, also saw a similar Wednesday drop.

The film now stands at 89 crore nett and it will be a 95 crore nett first week total for the film and then its about what the second Friday will bring in competition with the big Hollywood release THE ODYSSEY which is sure to open very well going by the advances. But it will a different audience compared to DHAMAAL 4. So, it should not drop too much on Friday.

DHAMAAL 4 is doing well pretty much all over apart from circuits where comedies fare less. The collections in the circuits are very similar to WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE with main difference likely to be Mumbai where DHAMAAL 4 will be 10-15% better over the first week.

DHAMAAL 4 had a good hold as it collected 8.25 crore nett on Monday falling around 41% from the first day which is good trending. The Monday is almost ditto WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE with that film being stronger in the North while Maharashtra/Gujarat is better for DHAMAAL 4. The film now stands at almost 73 crore nett and it should be a comfortable 90 crore nett first week and could even go towards 95 crore nett.

There is no discounted rates on Tuesday which is good as it can still trend well as now it is habitual for some of the audience to go on Tuesdays, This should benefit DHAMAAL 4 even though the cheap tickets are not there. The Monday hold ensures the film is a success and the next 4-5 days will tell if the film will become a HIT.

The biggest plus for DHAMAAL 4 is that there are no major Hindi releases till the Independence Day which has not been the case for films released in the last few weeks. There are huge Hollywood releases like THE ODYSSEY and SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY but today the business of Hollywood films in Hindi belts is not what it used to be. A higher ratio than pre pandemic comes from the South and that is the weaker area for DHAMAAL 4.

DHAMAAL 4 had an excellent Tuesday as it collected 9.50 crore nett as collections went up 15% and this was on the regular weekday rates and not discounted ticket rates. It has probably become a bit habitual for some people to watch films on Tuesday for the cheap rates. So, when films don't go that way they still manage to benefit and that has happened for DHAMAAL 4. The fact that it gets this collection without discounted rates is what makes the collection excellent for Tuesday.

This now takes the film to 82 crore nett plus and and the week will be ending in the 95 crore nett range which will be more than WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE and the last DHAMAAL film, TOTAL DHAMAAL, which was released in 2019. The drop normally comes on Wednesday but as DHAMAAL 4 was not on discounted rates, this may be cushioned somewhat as compared to the Monday collections.

The crucial day now will be the second Friday as that will give an idea of the lifetime business of the film. The target will be to cross the 150 crore nett of the last film. It will mean the franchise going up with each film.

DHAMAAL 4 has had a very good first weekend as it collects almost 65 crore nett over its first three days. The film has shown strong growth on Saturday and Sunday after a good first day. The film collected less than WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE on Friday but more on Saturday and Sunday. The overall weekend was higher and that is even if we count the paid previews of WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE.

The main difference between the two films is Mumbai circuit as DHAMAAL 4 is around 3 crore nett better. DHAMAAL 4 is superb in Mumbai circuit as it collects almost 23 crore nett with Sunday being close to 10 crore nett. Gujarat is also excellent for DHAMAAL 4 which should mean a good run for the film long term as this circuits holds up well.

DHAMAAL 4 is not as big as film as the last film in the franchise, TOTAL DHAMAAL, and its initial was also less. But the public seems to have liked the film and it now looks to have a chance to go on and beat the collections of TOTAL DHAMAAL which were around 150 crore nett. This would be a great result and a HIT film but with this weekend trend you would want the film to go even further.

The main obstacles in the way are Hollywood releases like THE ODYSSEY and SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY but its better to have in these in the way rather than big Hindi releases.  There have been four back to back Hindi releases over the last month and DHAMAAL 4 looks to best one among them. It has come last and is the best release date also.

DHAMAAL 4 has scored a good first day with collections of 14-14.25 crore nett and it is the fourth highest opening day of the year after DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, BORDER 2 and WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE. It is around 1 crore less than WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE but that film came on a minor Holiday which would have helped the film.

The film has scored well all over apart from circuits from comedies tend to fare less but the main circuits of Mumbai and Delhi/UP are solid and so are the Central belts. After WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, it is another film showing that poor advances does not mean much if it is a mass film as there is a good chance the public can still show up on the day. Also its not as if WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE or DHAMAAL 4 have got media support to propel their collections on day one.

The urgency with public is going down and down for the mid and low level films and it will only get worse. But for the industry to stay afloat, its all about these films as the films with urgency will be few and far between and you cant survive on those. For all mid and low level films, it is the Friday which decides but yes if a 400 or 500 crore budgeted film does not get an advance, then it is worrisome. 

DHAMAAL 4 had a pretty good trailer and it offered entertainment. So, the public has come in good numbers. There's no doubt the weekend will be good now and its just about how well it sustains.

DHAMAAL 4 has seen a fantastic jump on Saturday as families have lapped up the film. The film collected an excellent 22.50 crore nett on day two which takes the film to 36.50 crore nett over two days. The jump at 1 pm on Saturday was 40% and has finished up 60% at the end of the end of day which is extraordinary.

The film has almost seen the collections double up in Gujarat which is a huge positive sign for the film and Sunday will go up another level. It is this comedy loving state which has been holding up the comedy films post pandemic. Maybe this one can change this because if this state sustains from Monday, then DHAMAAL 4 is going on a long run. Director Indra Kumar films has a great track record of doing great business in the state form the DIL and BETA days and this maybe another success.

The Gujarat market is crucial for comedy films and that's why, most of the bigger comedy grossers have come on Diwali because of the holiday period in the state. These sort of entertainers are the need of the hour and they might have body shaming and all the other shaming that the English media has a problem with. But the more full out you go, the more the audiences will be with you. There is no space today for held back or subtle comedy due to so much exposure of this genre on television and digital.

It is not just Gujarat which has taken to Mumbai circuit to 70% growth but a similar story in the North where East Punjab also sees 70% jump while Delhi/UP is around 60%. North, West And Central are working superbly and the film probably looking at a 65 crore nett weekend. Now, its going to be about how strong is the Monday hold.
