DHADAK did well in its first week with business of 50.50 crore nett. The film got a good start and scored over the weekend and saw a good hold on Monday. There has been a drop in collections towards the end of the week but the film has been liked by the youth outside the big metros.
The film has done very good business in places like UP, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Nizam Andhra and Bihar but is low in Wast Punjab and Delhi city. Mumbai is also on the lower side but the original Marathi film SAIRAT from which DHADAK is adapted did very well in CP Berar and the Marathawada belt of Nizam/Andhra circuit and DHADAK has scored best in same markets.
The collections of DHADAK till date are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 50,50,00,000 apprx
The eighth day will tell where the film is going but the film is a HIT as it will cross 65 crore nett for lifetime business unless there is a shocking drop. On the other hand, the hold cant be accepted to be super strong also as there are many areas where the film has not been liked. In terms of appreciation its a mixed bag with some places positive and other negative.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood release SKYSCRAPER grossed a poor 7.75 crore nett in week one while HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION was even worse with around 3.75 crore nett

DHADAK had its first noticeable drop on Wednesday as it grossed in the 3.75-4 crore nett range which has taken its six day business to 47 crore nett. The drop is a big 15% from the previous day. The first week is now looking to be around 50.50 crore nett for the first week.
The drop has probably come due to the limited acceptance by the family audiences and films without support of families do tend to run out of steam at some point. But with DHADAK the job is done even with this drop as the first week will cross 50 crore nett and then unless its a miraculous crash on day eight which should not really happen it is easily a HIT film. .
The collections of DHADAK ttill date are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 47,00,00,000 apprx
The film has not fared well in Delhi city and East Punjab and that could also be the reason for slowing collections as these places tend to hold up the best after the first few days.
The business in East Punjab is almost 40% less than Veere Di wedding which did around 54 crore nett all India in week one against the 50 crore nett plus of Dhadak. The all india business is just 8% less than Veere Di Wedding.

DHADAK is continuing to do well in the weekdays with collections in the 4.50-4.75 crore nett range which takes the five day total to 43 crore nett. The first week will probably end up in the 51-52 crore nett range which is a healthy first week total for this film.
RAAZI was 56 crore nett apprx and VEERE DI WEDDING was 54 crore nett apprx in their respective first weeks. The trend is not strong enough to challenge RAAZI figures but it remains to be seen if the film can better the 80 crore nett of VEERE DI WEDDING despite having a lower opening than that film. The film also has similar costs to VEERE DI WEDDING of around 42 crore including pa. RAAZI cost was a little less. The film has almost crossed the first week business of SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY of 44.50 crore nett apprx.
The first four day collections of the film are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 43,00,00,000 apprx
The best business for the film has come from Nizam/Andhra and CP Berar both of which will be around 3 crore nett for the week although Nizam/Andhra did see a drop on Tuesday. This is better than both PAD MAN and RAID in both CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra.
In both CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra it will beat the lifetime business of all films released in 2018 barring the top four all India grossers which are SANJU, PADMAAVAT, RACE 3 and BAAGHI 2.

DHADAK has emerged a HIT film as it collected 5.25-5.50 crore nett on Monday which takes the business of the film to nearly 38.50 crore nett.. The film has dropped 35-40% from the first Friday which is very good considering the it was a healthy opening day.
The trend of the film is stronger than a VEERE DI WEDDING which had dropped to a similar total on Monday but from a 10 crore nett opening. The difference is that film was driven by the high end multiplexes and this film is mainly driven by normal multiplexes especially outside the metros.
The business in single screens are decent. It continues the good run in 2018 where most films with some awareness have done pretty well.
The first four day collections of the film are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,35,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 38,35,00,000 apprx
The first week will go to around 52 crore nett plus and then it will be that second Friday that will determine the lifetime total.
There will be competition with a few Hindi films releasing on Friday but the main competition will come from MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT as that film is an action film and will dominate multiplex screens. The plus for DHADAK is that MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT may not be that good in the Hindi belt where DHADAK is very strong.

DHADAK has done good business over its first weekend by collecting 33 crore nett which is the highest weekend total for a newcomer film although there has been no newcomer film for a few years. The trend of the film is strong with solid growth on Saturday and Sunday.
The Sunday growth probably puts the film on course to be a HIT film although it will be the Monday numbers that confirm this. It jumped close to 30% which is excellent for a Sunday and more than its Saturday growth which means it is doing well all over.
The collections in Punjab and Delhi city are lower but have showed growth over the weekend and should hold well enough. The best markets for the film are Nizam/Andhra, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Gujarat.
The first weekend collections of the film are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 33,00,00,000 apprx
The film has also done pretty well Overseas with collections of $1.2 million in 3 days with Gulf and US/Canada both giving a contribution of $400k each. The collections are so so for a 40 crore plus film but considering it had no face value, then the total is a healthy one.
This gives the film a worldwide total of 51 crore apprx. The comparative figure for STUDENT OF THE YEAR was 40 crore while HEROPANTI was 30.50 crore apprx but that was lower costing film.
The Hollywood film SKYSCRAPER fared poorly over the first weekend grossing around 5.50 crore nett in its firth weekend. There was some growth over the weekend but the collections were generally dull. The other Hollywood film HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION grossed around 2.75 crore nett which is low but it has come from a first day of just 45 lakhs nett.

DHADAK made good gains of around 25% as it grossed 10.50-10.75 crore nett on its second day. The film managed to jump well at multiplexes in the metros and the collections in circuits like Nizam/Andhra where it opened very well held up pretty well.
The opening in Nizam/Andhra and CP Berar was better than films like PAD MAN, VEERE DI WEDDING and RAID which were 10 crore nett all India openings or close. DHADAK is poor in East Punjab and so so in Delhi city (some theatres are doing well while others not). Though Delhi city is so so, the Delhi/UP circuit is good due to UP.
The first two day collections of the film are as follows.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 19,25,00,000 apprx
The weekend should comfortably cross 30 crore nett and the it will be Monday that will tell if the film can become a HIT.
