Kareena Kapoor made me comfortable-Karan Wahi

Smita Poojary (DNA; September 20, 2019)
Apart from the performances, host Karan Wahi has come to be known as the most entertaining part of Dance India Dance 7. Especially the way he flirts with one of the judges, Kareena Kapoor Khan. “When you keep working with somebody, you find out a lot of things about them if you don’t know each other personally. This is the first time I’m working with Kareena. The flirting is all in fun.” Karan adds that with time, he and Bebo have had more things to talk about, and there is more freedom about how they interact. “It’s all thanks to her as she made me really comfortable on the show. I don’t have to think about saying something, as it is all in good humour,” he smiles.
Excerpts from the chat...
You replaced Dheeraj Dhoopar as the host of DID...
Dheeraj is a friend of mine. I personally don’t exactly know what happened. I was on a vacation in London when I got a call for the show. I had to fly back the same day as I had to shoot the following day itself. I’m happy that I’m working in it.
How was it shooting for Bigg Boss 13 promo with Salman Khan?
It’s always fun working with Salman sir, because I have filmed a lot with him on multiple shows. And as usual, it was great. He was at his best and shooting with him in a gym set-up brought back a lot of memories because he was the first reason I started working out.
Actors who turned hosts never went back to acting. What’s your take on that?
Acting is acting, whether you do it on TV, film, web, theatre or ads. It depends on the person, time and situation, what the individual wants to choose. Viewers don’t see more of anchors because we shoot only once a week and it’s aired across three months; so, you always feel that a certain person is only anchoring. I’ve been hosting and acting for seven years, but I haven’t done a soap, so a lot of people tend to think I’m not acting anymore. But no matter what the medium, I only do something that I like.
What do you enjoy more — acting or hosting?
There’s no comparison because both are my professional strengths. I’m an actor first then an anchor. Had I not been a popular actor, I’d have probably not got the opportunity to host a show. I enjoy the latter because it’s me there and I rediscover a lot of things personally. Whatever I say is what I feel at the moment. That has its own joy as you have to be spontaneous and a bridge between the judges, contestants and audiences. In acting, I have the freedom to become a character and live a certain life that’s not mine.
You were part of Daawat-E-Ishq (2014) and Hate Story 4 (2018). Are you looking for more offers on the big screen?
If I get a film in which the makers and I feel that I can do complete justice, then I will be a part of it. I don’t want to do something for the heck of doing it. A film working or not working is not in my hands, but I’d always make sure I enjoy whichever project I’m part of.

Why is Aditya Roy Kapur making the wrong choices?

A young director who was on the verge of casting Roy Kapur thinks it’s an error of judgement
Subhash K Jha (DNA; January 20, 2017)
It looks like a sorry 2017 for Aditya Roy Kapur. Not that 2016 or 2015 were any better for him. In 2014 Aditya had a big box office dud with Yash Raj Films — Daawat-e-Ishq, that sank. In 2016 he was in UTV’s big budget bonanza Fitoor, that bombed. And now he began 2017 on the wrong note with Ok Jaanu with Karan Johar that has got a lukewarm response.
A young director who was on the verge of casting Roy Kapur thinks it’s an error of judgement. “Aditya thinks he’s choosing correctly. But he’s choosing the correct banners, not the scripts. By simply opting to work with Yash Raj, UTV or Karan Johar, he can’t ensure a successful film. Only the script can do that.” Says a trade analyst, “All he has to do is to choose the right type of films. He will learn from his mistakes. But yes has to pull up his socks NOW otherwise this industry is very harsh. They will write him off after one more flop.”
Says critic Raja Sen, “I haven’t watched Ok Jaanu, but judging from everything else he’s been in, I haven’t been at all impressed in any way by Aditya Roy Kapur.”

The music composer duo discusses Salman Khan, Bollywood remixes and their unique catchphrases
Kasmin Fernandes (BOMBAY TIMES; December 23, 2014)
You have been an integral
part of the music of most Salman Khan films. How was it coming out
with other heroes in films like Heropanti, Main Tera Hero,
Daawat-E-Ishq and Tevar?
It has been a great ongoing journey with Salman bhai, a lovable person, a superstar, a brother. We have been associated with him for nearly 19-20 years. Wow! But we are thankful to the almighty that we were truthful to him, his directors, producers and the music company. Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, they grew up in front of us. I think we know them very well and we feel great, happy and proud of them. They respect us, they love us.What else does one need to design for them!
The song Superman from Tevar has references to Salman Khan too. How did you think of this masterstroke?
It's funny, but masterstrokes are always hit by the masters. For association, love, respect, loyalty and warranty, one can count on Sajid Wajid. By the way, this song is a personal gift for Salman bhai for his coming birthday, from team Tevar and Sajid Wajid.
The music of Daawat-E-Ishq has the flavours of Hyderabad. One could practically taste and smell the food, specially in the title track and in its instrumental version. How did you manage it?
We are very well connected to the land of India and its culture and tradition. It is all because of Habib Faisal's belief in us and the freedom given by Aditya Chopra who gave us a compliment that, 'I never thought the music of Daawat-E-Ishq would turn out so great'. It's great fun working with people who believe in us and trust us. Film music is not easy gain where one can score easily. It is a very big responsibility, not one song, but the entire soundtrack has to be a hit.
These days, every Bollywood soundtrack has remix versions of the songs.
We started with remixes in our career. A lot of international DJs at that time went back, thank God they had got a return ticket. Remixes are great. People enjoy and like to sing and dance to them. Please don't forget, everything starts after we give a hit song (choreography, dance, picturisation, DJs, remixes, radio, publicity) -don't forget the daddy, rest all is cool.
You gave the nation the catchphrase 'Munni Badnaam'. Which one is next?
Haha. After Munni Badnaam (Dabanng), then Fevicol (Dabanng 2) and then Mashallah Mashallah (Ek Tha Tiger), Palat Tera Dhyan Kidhar Hai (Main Tera Hero), Besharmi Ki Height (Main Tera Hero), Aa Raat Bhar Jaayein Na Ghar (Heropanti), Madamiyan (Tevar), now watch out for Babaji Ka Thullu (Dolly Ki Doli). What else do you need? Hum haazir hain. I really like Sonam Kapoor, she's too cool and she's like freedom.
Music in Hindi films is going digital. Will physical CDs stop mattering after a point?
It will change more and more and keep changing. Nothing is possible except change. There are different types of listeners of music. Let them enjoy the way they want to.When business meets creativity, business always has an upper hand, wow.
'Ek baat bata doon aap se, nahin darta kisi ke baap se, Superman Salman ka fan...' What do you mean by this?
It's our own attitude, hard work and humour which create magic.Yes, close people we listen to, but then, nobody teaches us or advises us for any hit, except Salman bhai at times. We are the frontrunners in the war of music for any movie, but the war is always known by the king and winning is always won by someone else.

Aditya Roy Kapur quite upset by poor performance of Daawat-e-Ishq?

Subhash K Jha (DNA; October 2, 2014)
Daawat-e-Ishq has not turned out to be the yummy feast
it was intended to be. And the one most affected seems to be Aditya Roy
Kapur, who after Aashiqui 2, had quickly joined the list of A-list
stars.
Aditya has taken the setback to heart and has gone into a shell in response to his performance in Daawat-e-Ishq, informs a friend, adding, “Aditya is a very emotional guy. He can’t handle any kind of emotional upheaval. When it happens, he tends to withdraw from all social communication with friends and family. He likes to deal with a situation, such as this, on his own.”
Says the source, “He had his doubts about being able to carry off the Lucknowi Muslim chef’s role. But nobody questions Aditya Chopra. When Chopra first offered the role to him, the actor expressed reluctance pleading the character was way out of his comfort zone. But Chopra convinced him that it was a good career option to move out of his comfort zone.”
He’s unhappy with the feedback he has received for DEI. Fitoor will see the actor get out of his comfort zone again. Wonder how he’s going to take that!

DAAWAT-E-ISHQ V/S KHOOBSURAT!
This Friday will see the clash of two medium-budget and not-so-high-on-buzz films. It’s the word of mouth that will be play a crucial role in attracting audiences for both these films. My views:
DAAWAT-E-ISHQ: Produced by Yash Raj Films, Daawat-E-Ishq stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra and is directed by Habib Faisal, who made the much-loved Ishaqzaade and Do Dooni Chaar. The trailer is decent and so are the songs. The manner in which the essence of Lucknow and Hyderabad are captured is quite interesting. Also, the food element can be appealing for viewers. Sadly, the buzz for the film is very limited. In fact, till 10 days ago, there was hardly any excitement at all for the film. The actors then undertook a ‘Food Yatra’ covering prominent cities between Mumbai and Chandigarh and trying out popular delicacies and meeting fans in these towns. This gave the film the much-needed exposure. Also, the dialogue promos and the new promotional strategy, that is associated with dowry element of the film, have been impressive. But still, excitement is limited and this will affect the opening. But if word of mouth is good, surely things can change for the better for Daawat-E-Ishq.
KHOOBSURAT: It’s the remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Khubsoorat (starring Rekha). Sonam Kapoor reprises Rekha’s role and Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan is the lead actor. Kirron Kher and Ratna Pathak Shah too are seen in interesting roles in the film. The trailer is hilarious and Sonam looks in good form in the film. She is very impressive in Engine Ki Seeti. In fact, songs of the film have caught attention. Engine Ki Seeti is a hit while Naina is soulful. Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai hasn’t quite caught on but the quirky and unique Maa Ka Phone has been loved. The film looks like a clean entertainer and can attract family audiences. But again, the buzz is limited and it’s only the positive audience reaction that can help.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE DAAWAT-E-ISHQ OR KHOOBSURAT AND WHY? DO LET ME KNOW!
Yash Raj Films wanted Sanjay Leela Bhansali to change Mary Kom's release date?

Sonali Joshi Pitale (MID-DAY; August 12, 2014)
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s biopic on Mary Kom was initially supposed to release on October 2, thus cashing in on a long holiday weekend. But since Shahid Kapoor-starrer, Haider, and Hrithik Roshan-starrer, Bang Bang, were slated to release on the same day, Bhansali chose to move the film’s release date to September 5.
A source says, “ Yash Raj Films is known to announce their release dates in advance. They had earlier declared September 5 as the release date for their film, Daawat-E-Ishq. But now that Mary Kom is releasing on the same date, YRF is not happy. They apparently wants their film to have a solo release. A few days ago, they apparently requested Bhansali to shift his film’s release date.” But Bhansali apparently turned down YRF’s request.
Says the source, “The makers of Mary Kom have changed their release date once, so they were not to keen to change it again. They have already started working on the film’s publicity; changing the release date would’ve disturbed a lot of things. Now Yash Raj has decided to postponse their film’s release by two weeks; the Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur- starrer will release on September 19.”
Bhansali and YRF’s spokesperson were unavailable for comment.
I don't know why young people are imagined to be stupid-Kausar Munir

Seema Sinha (BOMBAY TIMES; June 27, 2014)
Simple but not simplistic is
lyricist Kausar Munir's mantra for life as well as for her profession.
In a very short time span, she has managed to separate the wheat from
the chaff and score an array of hits. She talks about the inspiration,
challenges and rivalries in the music business.
Your songs Palat Tera Hero Idhar Hai, Raat Bhar and Rabba are going strong. How did these songs happen?
I had written Har Ek Friend for David Dhawan's Chashme Baddoor (2013). He was keen that I do another song. Sajid-Wajid had their tune ready and David knew what he wanted. David and both his sons work as a close knit team. Rohit (his older son) was heavily involved (with Palat... from Main Tera Hero) and we took feedback from Varun. But these songs that appear seemingly easy are the hardest to do. To crack this very simple yet catchy and populist vibe is hard, and I don't understand the game of hits and flops. When I heard the melody of Raat Bhar, I knew it would work. The credit goes to director Sabbir (Khan, director of Heropanti). I had written something high-brow but he asked me to be simple, as a conversation between a boy and a girl. It has a resonance with younger people, it expresses their sentiment. Many have made it their status on social media.
You are a Bandra girl and have studied at St Xavier's College in Mumbai. How did you imbibe the culture and language of Bollywood?
People feel that I think in English and that I must be good with Urdu because of my name. All this is not true. For me, it is all hearsay. I have a ear for languages not because I have studied them. Mere kaan pakke hain. I was pretty good at Hindi in school. I cannot read or write Urdu but I respond to it phonetically. I used to jot down the lyrics of the songs I liked. I never planned to become a lyricist, however. I graduated from St Xavier's College in English literature, then got into writing documentaries and then television happened with Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. Films happened by chance. My friend Vijay Krishna Acharya was making Tashan. He offered me to write and I came up with Falak Tak. I didn't come here with a diary or a dream.
You seem set to rewrite the standards of lyrics in Hindi films...
There was a huge discussion about the word 'sangemarmar' in the song Suno Na Sangemarmar (Youngistaan) but it fell beautifully into the film and became a hit. As a lyricist, I have to make the best of the small space I've been given in pleasing the ear. This is where the composer comes in. I can't stray far from the song situation, and at the end of the day everybody wants a popular song. Nowadays, popular means pandering to the lowest common man. I don't know why young people are imagined to be stupid but everybody feels jitna basic hoga utna achcha. I try to be true to myself and to the vision of my director. You have to be simple but at the same time not simplistic. The song should have some depth. If you see the work of lyricists Amitabh Bhattacharya, Irshad Kamil or Swanand Kirkire, it is high quality stuff. When we get together and discuss things, we understand how some lyrics were a compromise for the tune or for the producer.
Who's been your inspiration?
Inspiration doesn't apply to me as I never dreamt of being a lyricist but I've always been a huge fan of Gulzar sahab. In originality, he is the best. Take these words from Kajra Re (Bunty Aur Babli), 'Aankhen bhi kamaal karti hain, personal se sawaal karti hain'. At 70, one can't be more modern than that.
Which composers do you work well with?
My first and last - Amit Trivedi and Sajid-Wajid. Every time Sajid-Wajid bag a new project, they send me an enquiry, 'Are you interested?' It started with Mashallah (Ek Tha Tiger), we've become great friends.
How do you evolve and grow in your field?
A certain lethargy is a valid side effect of this business. If you've been noticed and are doing well, work piles up along with expectations. Two or three mistakes and you start to dwindle. So if I feel I am getting into a rut, I check myself. I say to myself, 'Don't be insecure, it is okay to say no to work'. For writers, reading, writing, thinking, watching movies and taking time off is part of the job. Otherwise, it is just churning.
Tell us about your future projects.
I am doing the songs for Daawat-E-Ishq and Tevar, both composed by Sajid-Wajid. Besides the lyrics, I have also written the dialogues for Kabir Khan's Phantom and the story-screenplay for Ramesh Sippy's next.
Aditya Chopra not happy with Daawat-E-Ishq?

The release of Habib Faisal’s upcoming film, Daawat-e-Ishq, that stars Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur, has been postponed.
If sources are to be believed, Aditya Chopra is apparently not happy with certain portions of the film. A source from the industry says, “When Aditya Chopra saw the film, he was not happy with some of the scenes. So now some sequences will be re-shot and the release date of the film has been pushed ahead.”
When contacted, director Habib Faisal denied that that Aditya Chopra is unhappy with the way the film has shaped up. “These are all rumours. Everybody in the team is very happy with the film’s progress. But after a film is shot, one needs time to edit it and work on things like sound design, background music, sound mix and picture grading. We are still working on the film’s post-production, and that is why the release has been pushed ahead. It’s a planned decision as we wish to make a quality film,” he said.
Rafiq Gangjee of YRF films chimed in that the film has been pushed ahead as it’s not yet ready to hit the cinema halls. “Rather than rushing the process and possibly compromising on the creative product, a prudent and common sense decision was taken to postpone the release,” he said. Another source close to the production house adds, “The film was slated to release on May 9, but now its release has been pushed ahead. The film’s new date has not yet been finalised.”

Parineeti Chopra-Aditya Roy Kapur growing close?

Meena Iyer (BOMBAY TIMES; March 1, 2014)
Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur seem to be hitting it off with each other, say sources. The two actors, who are single and eligible to mingle — should they choose to, after their initial round of friendship — have been cast together in a Habib Faisal film titled Daawat-E-Ishq. They reportedly enjoy spending time with each other on the set and off it.
Their friendship is still in the nascent stage. Not to forget, it has often been hinted that Aditya also has a special equation with his Aashiqui 2 costar, Shraddha Kapoor.
Incidentally, when Parineeti dropped by at the Bombay Times office for the promotion of Hasee Toh Phasee, she did casually bring up Aditya’s name as one of the brightest young talents in Bollywood.
Other young actors who were recently caught in these awkward three-way friendships are: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma; Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Of course, with time, their choices became all too clear. Parineeti said, “Anupam (Kher) sir, Aditya and I were like a unit of three. Always together. Eating, prepping, doing everything. It is one of the closest friendships I have and I will keep for life :)”
Aditya Roy Kapur, Shahid Kapoor share similar haircut in Daawat-E-Ishq, Haider?

Gaurav Dubey (MID-DAY; February 18, 2014)
Aditya Roy Kapur and Shahid Kapoor may share similar sounding last names in real- life but it looks like their reel life avatars are now matching steps with each other. So while Shahid Kapoor has been sporting a short crop for his upcoming movie Haider, Aditya has of late been spotted with a similar haircut. It seems that Kapur’s new look is in tandem with his character for the film, Daawat-E-Ishq.
To add to it, both the actors will have similar names in their films.
Both Shahid and Aditya’s characters in their respective films are called Haider. Says a source, “Shahid and Aditya share the same name Haider in their upcoming projects. And they are also sporting a similar haircut for their films. It’s an interesting coincidence since both films belong to different genres.” It may be pointed out here that while Shahid’s film Haider is based on Shakespeare’s work, Hamlet, and is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Dawat-E-Ishq is Aditya’s first release this year.
Directed by Habib Faisal, this film is set in Hyderabad and Lucknow.
Anupam Kher to have 6 releases in 10 weeks

Subhash K Jha (DNA; February 12, 2014)
From the last week of February to the first week of April, Anupam Kher has one release nearly every week. Says the actor, “I didn’t plan it that way. But unfortunately a bottleneck of my releases are coming up. On March 7, I have E Niwas’s Total Siyappa. I am very excited about this one because I get to be in the same film as my wife (Kirron Kher) for the first time. Then on March 21, I have Atul Agnihotri’s production O Teri releasing and also my dear friend Satish Kaushik’s Gangs Of Ghosts is being released. And then on April 4, I have David Dhawan’s Main Tera Hero. A month after that is Habib Faisal’s Daawat-E-Ishq. So you see, it’s Anupam Kher everywhere.”
Anupam is not shaken by the overdose of his presence at the turnstiles. “I’ve been through these theatre traffic jams before. The advantage of being the actor that I am is I am not the same person in any of the five releases that are coming in March, April and May.”
When asked him to stick out his neck and select his favourite among the crowd of releases in the coming months Anupam says, “I enjoyed them all. But working with Habib Faisal, Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra in Daawat-e-Ishq was a very special experience. They are so talented. But I am not saying it’s my favourite among my forthcoming releases. I liked all of them, for different reasons.”
Aditya Roy Kapur-Sushant Singh Rajput not on talking terms post Fitoor fiasco?

Grapevine has it that there is a cold war raging between Aditya Roy Kapur and Sushant Singh Rajput. If sources are to be believed, the two actors — who recently shot next to each other in the same studio — are not on talking terms at all. The source adds that this animosity stems from the fact that Aditya replaced Sushant in Abhishek Kapoor’s film, Fitoor. “It is known that Sushant didn’t exit from his mentor’s film on a cordial note and that the actor opted out of Fitoor to accommodate Shekhar Kapur’s film, Paani. This didn’t go down well with Kapoor and Disney UTV,” says the source, adding that Aditya, who also happens to be the brother of Disney UTV head, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, then replaced Sushant.
It is said that tensions between the two actors became obvious when they refused to acknowledge each other, despite shooting for two Yash Raj films in the vicinity. “Sushant was busy with his workshops for Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Aditya had started shooting for Daawat-e-Ishq. After a while, the latter made the first move by greeting Sushant when he ran into him. But Sushant snubbed him,” says the source.
It is also being rumoured that Sushant couldn’t stomach the fact that Aditya was asked to appear on a popular talk show, while he wasn’t.
Nagesh Kukunoor's associate coaches Parineeti Chopra in mastering Dakhni accent?

Parineeti Chopra, who plays a Hyderabadi character in Habib Faisal’s upcoming film Daawat-e-Ishq, was coached by Elahe Hiptoola (who teams up with Nagesh Kukunoor to make films) to get the required Dakhni accent right.
A source says, “Habib asked Elahe to translate the film’s dialogues in Dakhni and coach Parineeti. For Elahe, it was like being part of a mono act play as she not only coached the actors, but even dubbed for the entire film so that the actors got the accent right by listening to the way she spoke in Dakhni. Anupam Kher who essays Parineeti’s father in the film was also helped by Elahe for the accent.”
Meanwhile, Habib too did the same for the rest of the cast including Aditya Roy Kapur. Daawat-e-Ishq revolves around a girl from Hyderabad and a boy from Lucknow. To make the characters look authentic, Habib made sure they learn the region’s dialect.

You're spearheading the cause for singers on the copyright issue, any progress?
A small victory is that the Indian Performing Rights Organization (IPRO) has acknowledged the Indian Singers Rights Association (ISRA), but the war isn’t won yet. We’re not going to revolt and agitate since at the end of the day the filmmakers and music companies are our colleagues. We just want to impress upon them that tomorrow anyone can become a singer, Bhushan Kumar’s sister is a singer too, so it is in their interest to give us our due so aged and out-of-work singers can lead a dignified life. Like Sati and dowry, this is a typical Indian problem. No other country denies its singers royalty. But here it’s a one-time payment which is unfair when you consider that a song like I'm a Disco Dancer is playing even 30 years later, not just in India but in Russia, Africa and the Middle East. Ditto for many of my chartbusters. Let others keep their share, but give us our share too.
So it’s an issue of payment?
No, the issue is copyright, and illegal, predated, feudal contracts that makes the singer feel bonded. ISRA itself is a Copyright Society accepted by the centre.
How much royalty should you have got by now?
More than Rs 100 crores, given all my hits. God has given me a lot and I’m willing to forfeit the entire amount in lieu of legitimate royalty rules.
You are obviously campaigning for your son Nevaan’s future?
Not just Nevaan's future, but the future of all artistes.
Your son has been singing live at concerts, when will he flag off his playback career?
He is only six, I don’t want to taint his growth and tarnish his innocence by turning him into a professional singer at this age. He’s an achcha bachcha, always happy and smiling. Let him stay that way, his dad will do the singing professionally.
But we don’t even hear too much of you these days?
I've sung two songs for Raj Kumar Hirani’s PK, a beautiful number for Daawat-e-Ishq and one for Kill Dil.
You composed the title track for Singh Saab The Great, planning a switch?
I am a musician, so giving music isn’t difficult. That song was even programmed by me. But composing is a full-time job and given all my other commitments, a switch isn’t feasible at this time. But I have composed the score for the recently released Sooper Se Ooper and the upcoming Jal and Happy Anniversary. Jal has a brilliant track by Shubha Mudgal and Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan went crazy when they heard the two songs I'd set to tune for Happy Anniversary.
Reportedly you had differences with the producers of Sooper Se Ooper?
I wasn’t angry but I was a bit perturbed by the low-key promotions. It was a decent film and deserved better promotions.
Any plans of a private album?
After the song with Britney Spears I was working with Universal but that project has been delayed. But Khamakha, my world music album with Bickram Ghosh, who has collaborated with me on my film scores, should be out in a few months. I’m also coming out with a single which was first performed on MTV Unplugged.
And when will we see you back on TV?
I’ve hosted and judged several shows, but now I’m bored of doing the same thing even though it’s good money.
You’re planning to graduate to films?
Nope, that's not on the agenda, even though I’m getting a lot of offers. I don’t want to give up 100 days from my life for a film unless it's worth it. I’d rather spend time with my dad and my son. I’m not ambitious. I’ve seen my grandfather and mother die and want to make the most of my life. Legends like Mohd. Rafi, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Kishore Kumar have gone away and the music hasn’t stopped. It never will.
