The collections of BELLBOTTOM continue to trickle in despite it being streamed on Amazon Prime. The film is now in its seventh week and has collected around 32 crore nett comfortably making it the top Hindi grosser post the pandemic.

The best business for the film has come in Delhi/UP with the film grossing around 9.50 crore till date. Even though the film had no release in Maharashtra, it has still managed to cross the 6 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit thanks to some good numbers in Gujarat every Sunday.

BELLBOTTOM will remain in cinemas till Diwali dud to the lack of releases and probably finish around the 32.50 crore nett mark.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM till date are as follows.
Week One - 18,72,00,000
Week Two - 7,31,00,000
Week Three - 2,87,00,000
Week Four - 1,83,00,000
Week Five - 82,00,000
Week Six - 31,00,000
Week Seven - 12,00,000 (4 days)
TOTAL -  31,98,00,000

BELLBOTTOM hit the 30 crore nett mark at the end of its fourth weekend as it collected 1.25 crore nett plus in its fourth weekend and is heading for a decent fourth week of a little under 2 crore nett. The collections are steady at low levels at most of the major multiplexes though its too late in the day to really go anywhere.

Although it does not mean much, it is the only Hindi film to hit the 30 crore nett mark since BAAGHI 3 in March 2020. The fourth week will see collections drop around 35% which is the best week on week hold for the film as this week, it saw limited competition from new releases and maintained its screens especially in the national chains. The film is probably looking at a finish in the 31-32 crore nett region.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM till date are as follows.
Week One - 18,72,00,000
Week Two - 7,31,00,000
Week Three - 2,87,00,000
Week Four - 1,50,00,000 apprx (4 days)
TOTAL -  30,35,00,000

Box Office Report

Box Office India Trade Network

SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS saw a 50% drop in collections on Monday as it collected 1.50 crore nett to take its four day total to around 12 crore nett. The drop was sort of expected due to the business on Saturday and the ratio of business coming from South which drops faster. Generally Hindi circuits are also down 45-50% also while South is down 50% plus. The film may hit a week of close 15.50 crore nett.

FAST & FURIOUS 9 held a little better as it collected 1 crore nett but the collections are lower. The drop here is around 40% from Friday and is day five for the film. The hold is better as its doing better in dubbed versions and business is better than SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS in smaller centres. The drop in Gujarat is just 25% from Friday. The total business of the film is 9 crore nett and the eight day week should go to 11.5-12 crore nett.

BELLBOTTOM picked up 30 lakhs nett on its third Monday and the film is holding up on low levels. The drop is just 10-15% from Friday. The film should finish the week with 29 crore nett business and go to 30 crore nett plus in the long run.

BELLBOTTOM took its total to nearly 28 crore nett as it collected 1.75 crore nett plus in its third weekend. It will slowly edge past the 30 crore nett mark in the long run making it the first Hindi film to cross the 30 crore nett mark since BAAGHI 3 which released in the first week of March. 2020.

Obviously not much has come since March 2020 and 30 crore nett total is nothing much but if we look at what other films including Hollywood (taking out South) are doing then it puts the business a bit more into perspective. The film has not sustained as appreciation is missing but still the number is more down to market conditions and if these were better it would have had a more respectable total.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM till date are as follows.
Week One - 18,72,00,000
Week Two - 7,31,00,000
Friday - 35,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 55,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 90,00,000 apprx
Third Weekend - 1,80,00,000 apprx

BELLBOTTOM fell around 63% in week two which in normal circumstances would be a pretty decent hold but in a restricted market this drop is far worse than it actually looks. The film collected 7 crore nett in week two and took its overall total to 25.75 crore nett

The first weekend collection is not a problem; if you can hold even in this present market and that is where BELLBOTTOM failed. The main issue has been the dropping collections on the weekdays of week one. That is where films have to ne at Friday levels to survive until the market gets better.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM are as follows.
Week One - 18,72,00,000
Friday - 75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 70,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 60,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 50,00,000 apprx
Week Two - 7,05,00,000 apprx
TOTAL -  25,77,00,000 apprx

CHEHRE was a poor fare. Obviously there are issues with the market but the collections of Chehre are more to do with the non interesting film rather than the market. The film collected 2.75 crore nett apprx in week one.

The collections of CHEHRE in week one are as follows.
Friday - 45,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 60,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 85,00,000 apprx
Monday - 30,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 25,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 20,00,000 apprx

BELLBOTTOM had a decent hold on Tuesday at low levels as collections remained similar to what it did on Monday. There is the Satam Atham period in Gujarat which has helped this are collected for the last 3 days though collections will be soon be normal here.

Despite Maharashtra not releasing the film, the collections in Mumbai circuit are not too far behind Delhi/UP due to the performance in Gujarat/Saurashtra and the non performance of the film in UP. Looking ahead the main competition will come from Hollywood releases. So it can remain in cinemas for sometime and even after its digital release if the plexes want to keep it.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM are as follows.
Week One - 18,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,25,00,000 apprx

BELLBOTTOM had a low second weekend of 4.25 crore nett and Monday was helped by Janmashtami as it collected around 1 crore nett which was more than Friday. The drop is 65% from the first weekend and now the restrictions and occupancy rules are not a problem as there is plenty of spare capacity in those crucial evening shows but the audience is not coming. The main circuits for the film remain Gujarat and East Punjab and Delhi/UP though the latter is only having footfalls in Delhi NCR.

The problem is the trend for the film as in this scenario where collections are going to be lower due to non-functioning market in most circuits, you have to hold much better. The film has so far collected 24 crore nett and at the end of the week will it probably end at around 26.50 crore nett.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM are as follows.
Week One - 18,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL -  24,00,00,000 apprx

CHEHRE is doing poor business as collections on Monday should have been better due to Janmashtami. The film has collected 2.25 crore nett so far in four days.

The collections of CHEHRE are as follows.
Friday - 45,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 60,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 85,00,000 apprx
Monday - 40,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,25,00,000

Bellbottom collects 19.50 cr in 9 days; Chehre collects 40 lakhs on Day 1

Box Office India Trade Network

BELLBOTTOM saw a drop in collections on its second Friday which was expected as the film had started to drop since Tuesday. The film added around 75 lakhs nett apprx which takes the collections of the film to around 19.50 crore nett. The best hold for the film was seen in Gujarat/Saurashtra where it is pretty steady with a 60% drop from last Friday. The rest of the country has seen drops in the 75% range.

The new release CHEHRE had collections in the 40 lakh nett range. The film does not offer much entertainment and with the present scenario, it is impossible for these type of films to get even half decent collections. The collections of this film in whole of North (Delhi/UP and East Punjab) were as much as CHAL MERA PUTT 2 collected in Ludhiana city alone.

Both BELLBOTTOM and CHEHRE should go up over the weekend but it remains to be seen how much they go up.

The collections of BELLBOTTOM till date are as follows.
Week One  - 18,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 19,50,00,000 apprx

BELLBOTTOM collected 18.75 crore nett in its extended eight day first week as collections came down post Raksha Bandhan on Tuesday. The weekend business was low but in realty it was always going be tough to meet the industry expectations of 4 crore or 5 crore and even more due to the occupancy cap and various other restrictions in different cities.

It still managed to put up respectable numbers in some cities with the standout being across Gujarat/Saurashtra on Sunday. Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot etc were all fantastic with many houseful boards going up. The disappointment is actually not the weekend but what happened in the weekdays because opening well is an external problem due to the market restrictions at present but sustaining well is not held back by these external problems.

The film had chances of holding well but it could not as the biggest contributors like Delhi, Punjab and Gujarat dropped. These places were not going to be top performers in a normal situation and the film needed a Mumbai City and Pune where it may have been liked more.

The extended eight day business of the film is as follows.
Thursday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,90,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 1,40,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 1,30,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 1,15,00,000 apprx

Box Office India Trade Network

BELLBOTTOM collected a little under 2 crore nett on day five which took its total to almost 15 crore nett. The general drop was around 35% for the film from day one but in some states it has the advantage of the day after Raksha Bandhan. so these places were showing collections close to day one.

The only thing is that places like UP and CI have very limited collections and so overall the advantage of the Raksha Bandhan is not too much. Gujarat/Saurashtra saw a big drop from the excellent Sunday it had in the circuit but still collections are not down much from Thursday or Friday.

Night shows started in most of the properties in Delhi but it looks a bit late now for BELLBOTTOM as the weekend is gone but its a plus for the films that are to release in the coming period. The first week collections of the film should finish in the 19 crore nett region and then its about where the second Friday lands.

The five day business of BELLBOTTOM is as follows.
Thursday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,90,00,000 apprx

BELLBOTTOM did pretty well on Sunday as it collected 4.50 crore nett. It was Raksha Bandhan and the markets that normally perform here like UP, MP and Rajasthan were fair and probably should have grown more but the good news came from Gujarat/Saurashtra as that market had very good collections on Sunday.

The film is not exactly catering to the Gujarat market but sill there was a large turnout in the circuit. There is the 50% cap rule and many cinemas shut but Gujarat/Saurashtra alone still collected around the 1 crore nett mark which is a fantastic number considering the present situation..

Obviously Raksha Bandhan helped in the state but for whatever reason the fact is people did come out in the state which is a good sign for the future. The Gujarat/Saurashtra numbers on Sunday was the biggest plus with the release of BELLBOTTOM and there was some smaller green shots in Delhi NCR as some properties recorded healthy numbers. Its a work in progress situation and can only improve as more films release.

The overall numbers of BELLBOTTOM at 13 crore nett for the weekend are low despite strong Sunday growth and lets see what happens post the weekend. If we take out the Gujarat business on Sunday then the main performance came in multiplexes of Delhi NCR which means that Mumbai city and Pune city were a huge miss for the film as the film would have also performed better there as against the Hindi belts.

The four day business of the film is as follows.
Thursday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 13,00,00,000 apprx
----------------
The best turnout post the pandemic has been seen in Gujarat with BELLBOTTOM as collections could be compared with the big films of 2020 before the pandemic. The whole Gujarat or Saurashtra belt cant be compared as the whole market is not open like before but a like for like comparison is good news for the industry as far as the audience coming back in Gujarat goes.

It was Raksha Bandhan which is big in Gujarat but if the audience comes on this day, then it will return in bigger numbers for better films and for films which cater more for the audience in Gujarat.

Below is a like for like comparison from the same cinemas between the Sunday of BELLBOTTOM and the first day of TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR and first day of BAAGHI 3 at Rajhans chain which dominate in Gujarat. BELLBOTTOM had a 50% cap on occupancy but there were more shows compared to BAAGHI 3 and TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR. BELLBOTTOM is post pandemic while the other two are pre pandmic. TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR did not open well in Gujarat but BAAGHI 3 opened very well.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior
3,94,232 (2D)
6,38,291 (3D)
TOTAL - 10,32,523

Baaghi 3
19,79,360

Bellbottom
12,70,687 (2D)
3,87,134 (3D)
TOTAL - 16,57,821

Despite the low headline number the scenario is not as bad as it looks as far the audience coming back is concerned. It will be a process like last week Punjab saw good turnout with PUAADA this week Gujarat has seen a big turnout on Sunday with BELLBOTTOM even with a product that is not really for them. If SOORYAVANSHI was there yesterday without a 50% cap rule, you can take 35 lakh nett collections from the above properties as a worst case scenario. BELLBOTTOM in this chain has done more on one day than films like CHHAPAAK and THAPPAD did over the whole first week. This one may not be best comparison as those were bad films with smaller casts but its pre pandemic and post pandemic and one day v seven days and on top BELLBOTTOM reports are not much.

Other areas will also start to see audiences return in a big way when market conditions allow and the content is correct for them. BELLBOTTOM got the benefit of PUAADA releasing a week before as its collections would have been far less if BELLBOTTOM released last week. Just like a future film will  in Gujarat will get the benefit of a BELLBOTTOM release as the market will perform a little better now. Hopefully there will be more positives like in the remaining months of this year.

BELLBOTTOM saw limited growth on Saturday as it collected 3 crore nett. The film managed growth in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Bangalore and few other bigger cities like Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chandigarh but the trend was generally flat or downward elsewhere. Overall the growth was around 10%.

The film has collected 8.50 crore nett in three days with Delhi/UP leading they way with 2.15 crore nett apprx (with non performance in UP outside Ghaziabad and Noida) followed by East Punjab at 1.26 crore nett (even here its just a few big centres like Gurgaon and Chandigarh giving far better contribution).

The Gujarat/Saurashtra belt has also done business of around 1.25 crore nett while North Karnataka will be around 10 odd lakhs so far which will give Mumbai circuit a total of 1.35 crore nett plus. The limited growth on Saturday will make it tough for the film in the long run. The was no drop on day two but that was because in mass belts there were more properties which came into operation.

The three day collections of BELLBOTTOM are as follows.
Thursday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 8,50,00,000

Bell Bottom Trailer: Akshay Kumar Is The One-Man Army In Gripping Spy Thriller. Mind = Blown

Box Office India Trade Network

BELLBOTTOM collected in the 2.75 crore nett range on Friday which was the same range as Thursday. The film managed to get a little growth in the NCR region while extra properties also become operational on Friday. Hyderabad city also saw better collections. The final collections could be 5-10 lakh less but its pretty much in the same range.

The collections did drop in some cities but that is also because the bigger multiplexes which collect heavy over initial weekend in these cities are still closed. The smaller theatres tend to drop on day two be it a Friday or Saturday.

There is no major drop on day two and that is probably the only positive as the last thing needed was a big drop from the low first day. There will be growth today and hopefully it is big growth which is actually a must if it is to sustain in the long run.

The headline number does not paint a good picture but some places do have half decent collections considering the scenario but that does not really matter much as eventually its about the whole market and not certain places or properties.

The two day collections of BELLBOTTOM are as follows.
Thursday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 5,50,00,000

Bell Bottom Review: Focus Is On Akshay Kumar Playing Akshay Kumar - The Film Suffers In The Bargain

Box Office India Trade Network

BELLBOTTOM collected 2.75 crore nett plus on day one with a limited release. The collections total around 2.60 crore nett with Bihar and Odisha to come which will probably be in the 10-20 lakh range. The film did not release in Maharashtra, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and while the last three mentioned do not make much of a difference, Maharashtra is the killer. Wherever it did release, there was the 50% occupancy rule which meant collections in peak time screenings could not collect as they should.

The best collections for the film came in NCR (despite limited night shows) Kolkatta and Chandigarh. This basically resulted in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and West Bengal doing best numbers. East Punjab was 46 lakhs nett while West Bengal was 28 lakhs nett. Delhi/UP was 75 lakhs nett and going by East Punjab, it should have actually topped 1 crore but very limited business in cities of UP (outside Noida and Ghaziabad) and limited night shows in Delhi city stopped the film going above 1 crore nett. West Bengal got a good release considering other circuits of 125 screens but it was a low performance outside Kolkata.

The Central India markets of CP, CI, Rajasthan could not do much with business with just 30 lakhs nett coming with these circuits heavily restricted by cinemas being shut. Gujarat (except some cinemas) and South also could not do much.

The number is not good but the reason for that was the expectations that were built by the industry which as usual were best case scenarios. Obviously these were based on what films like ROOHI and MUMBAI SAGA did but things are different at present. The non release of Maharashtra is there but even without that, the screen count of BELLBOTTOM is pretty similar to ROOHI and MUMBAI SAGA. The reason why it could not meet the industry expectations is the 50% occupancy rule which does not allow the normal collections in peak shows. This is so important for a film like BELLBOTTOM as its not going to fly from the morning shows.

If the film released in the ROOHI and MUMBAI SAGA time, it would have reached pre release industry expectations as it would have done 50-60% more and that is even without Maharashtra. The potential business was all about building capacity pre pandemic and its still the same as far as Hindi cinema goes and the 50% rule means you are 50% down before you even start. The footfalls of the film are also low as per the collections due to 3D ticket pricing. MUMBAI SAGA remains the film with the highest footfalls on day one post the pandemic while collections of BELLBOTTOM, ROOHI and MUMBAI SAGA are all in the same range, give or take a few lakhs.
