AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL grossed 23.50 crore nett in its second week taking its total to 101.50 crore nett in two weeks. The drop in the second week is 70% which is fair. The collections saw the noticeable drops on Wednesday and Thursday due to the demonetizing of larger notes issue and this will also hit the third week of the film. the film has performed well Mumbai, Delhi /UP, East Punjab, Nizam/Andhra, Mysore and West Bengal with the out performance coming in Mysore as it managed strong numbers there pre Diwali as compared to the other circuits its has done well. It will be the third highest grosser of the year in Mysore after SULTAN and M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY. The film will probably have to settle for a little under 110 crore nett due to the demonetizing issue as that will affect the third week. The film is certain to cross the business of BARFI which actually makes it the highest grossing urban film which in content it actually is but the super hit music and holiday period gave it a wider reach than the regular film so due to that it can't be put in with those films. This wider reach should have taken it further but it sort of gets negated due to the clash with SHIVAAY.

AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL has taken its twelve day total to around 99 crore nett. The second week business is looking around 24.50 crore nett which would take the film to around 102.50 crore nett and then it will go on to be the second highest grossing film in the career of Ranbir Kapoor beating the 105.56 crore nett of BARFI which released in 2012. The highest is YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI which grossed a huge 178 crore nett and is the highest non holiday grosser till date unless we count Hollywood release THE JUNGLE BOOK which did a little under 188 crore nett in its 20 week run earlier this year. AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL continues its decent run on its second Monday and has done had a pretty good run till now and is close to 100 crore nett. The film collected in the 2.25-2.50 crore nett range on its second Monday and the second week is heading for 24 crore nett apprx which will be the fifth highest second week collection of the year. The drop week on week is looking to be 69% which is decent trend. The two plusses for the film was the opening in India despite pre Diwali and its Overseas business, these are the two factors that have taken the film to HIT status. The film is looking to close its business somewhere around the 110 crore nett mark which would take it just above HOUSEFULL 3 if it was to get there.

Looking at it in hindsight this film could have come a week earlier where a bigger opening day number (due to no clash) would have enabled it to put a similar first week as it did and then take advantage of Diwali week which would have resulted in a higher second week (holiday factor) even though SHIVAAY would have been there. As it was an urban film the pre Diwali affect was limited and that 13 crore nett start would have been 25-30% more a week earlier without the clash. AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL had a decent second weekend of 16.25 crore nett which has taken its total to around 94 crore nett plus. The fall from first weekend is just 52% but it was pre Diwali and dull collections. The second weekend numbers are the fourth highest of 2016 after SULTAN, AIRLIFT and RUSTOM which is decent for a film which has clashed with a big release. The film has good numbers in Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Mysore, Nizam/Andhra and Mysore with Mumbai leading the way as like the holiday period has helped SHIVAAY in Gujarat/Saurashtra which will help this urban film surpass the numbers of films like HOUSEFULL 3 and M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY in Gujarat/Saurashtra by the end of its run. The big test will be on Monday but again like SHIVAAY the trends are average where there is no holiday factor. So a drop is likely but the plus for AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL is that has covered some distance in the last ten days and is already the second highest grosser of the year in ten days there which will make it a HIT in the final count though not a big one. It should hit a 100 crore nett by the end of the week but thats not a big deal today for big cast films.

AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL showed a jump of around 25-30% on its second Saturday which is lower than normal but its a prolonged holiday period and certain areas were still in that zone and therefore did not grow much on Saturday. The growth came mainly in Delhi city, East Punjab and Mysore. AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL was the clear winner over the first three days but its become a bit more of a clash since then as SHIVAAY has also held well after the first weekend and that will also be affecting the figures of AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL in some areas. Again its hard to tell if and how much growth will come on Sunday as business is not showing normal trends due to the period but on Monday it will be surely back to normal and where it lands on Monday will tell if it goes to around 110 crore nett or falls short.

AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL did well on its second Friday as it collected in the 4-4.25 crore nett range taking its eight day total to 82 crore nett. A 4 crore nett plus number is good for a second Friday. The collections for the second Friday are the third best of the year with only SULTAN and AIRLIFT having better collections. Now its about the growth on Saturday which should normally be huge but there seems a little leftover from holiday period in UP as collections there seem to be higher than normal. This might also be there in other places which might hold the film back from the normal 50% plus growth on second Saturday but that remains to be seen
