The releases of last week were all box office disasters with BADLAPUR BOYS having the best collections.

ACTION JACKSON grossed around 11 crore nett in week two taking its total to 57 crore nett. It will finish at around 58-59 crore nett. FLOP

Action Jackson collects 52 cr in 10 days

ACTION JACKSON grossed around 6.50 crore nett in week two taking its ten day total to around 52 crore nett. The film had fair numbers in CP Berar, CI and Gujarat. Rajasthan which was decent in first weekend saw a drop. The film dropped badly in Mumbai city, West Bengal and Mysore while North India also had low collections.

The lifetime business will probably finish a little under 60 crore nett so a 32-33 crore domestic distributor share will see the film losing around 25 crore. at the end of its run it will have a higher contribution from single screens than multiplexes which is rare for a big release.

BADLAPUR BOYS fared badly over its first weekend grossing around 50 lakhs nett. The consolation was that it was much better than its rivals KAASH TUM HOTE, LIFE MEIN TWIST HAI and MAIN AUR MR RIIGHT.

Day 1: Badlapur Boys 15 lacs; MAMR 5 lacs; Action Jackson 1.75 cr on Day 8

BADLAPUR BOYS was the best of the new releases but that is not saying much as it grossed around 15-20 lakhs nett on day one. The other release like KAASH TUM HOTE, LIFE MEIN TWIST HAI and MAIN AUR MR RIIGHT have hardly grossed 5 lakhs nett.

ACTION JACKSON collections dropped around 80% on its eight day as it grossed around 1.75-2 crore nett. The film was helped by the fact there was no major release otherwise it would have dropped even more. The Gujarat area is doing fair as week one was around 8 crore nett which was nearly 50% of the Mumbai circuit and will Gujarat will easily cross 10 crore nett.

The second weekend should cross 6 crore nett though lifetime business will probably stay below 60 crore nett as third week will hardly collect.

Action Jackson collects 45 cr in Week 1

Box Office India Trade Network

ACTION JACKSON grossed around 45 crore nett in its first with average business in single screens but poor business in multiplexes. The film has an open week this week but is not really going anywhere. It is likely to do less business than the last Prabhu Deva directed film R...RAJKUMAR.

The best business came in Mumbai which grossed around 16 crore nett with Delhi/UP doing 50% of Mumbai at 8 crore nett. East Punjab grossed around 3.25 crore nett. Both Delhi/UP and East Punjab have done dull business and its these two markets have hit the film hard. The film also grossed decent figures in the singles screens of Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Nizam and Bihar.

The last Ajay Devgn starrer SINGHAM RETURNS had grossed over 75 crore nett in its first weekend and here there is no chance of even a lifetime total like that.

Action Jackson collects 33.50 cr in 4 days; scores well in single screens

Box Office India Trade Network

ACTION JACKSON had a fair Monday of around 4.75 crore nett taking its total to nearly 33.50 crore
nett. The trend on Monday vis-a-vis the weekend is okay with a 50% drop from first day collections but it is coming off a weekend which was on the lower side.

Overall the film will manage average business business in Mumbai, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Nizam and Bihar but the other circuits will be poor. North India is where the film has suffered as even the big centres of UP like Lucknow and Kanpur are not up to the mark. The Delhi and Punjab business is bad.

The  film will probably do a first week business of around 42 crore nett but that is the sort of number it should have achieved in the first weekend if it was to emerge as a success at the box office..
------------------------
ACTION JACKSON has had the best ratio of business in single screens in 2014. The film collected around a little under 15 crore nett from multiplexes over the weekend making it a 50-50% ratio for multiplexes and single screens.

The previous best collector in the single screens as a ratio this year was JAI HO with a 60-40 divide, the latter being the single screens share. Amongst the other grossers KICK and SINGHAM RETURNS had 37% and 36% respectively coming from single screens, HOLIDAY was 30% and HAPPY NEW YEAR was 28%

It follows the trend of other Prabhu Dheva films which tend to do much better at single screens. WANTED in 2009 had 65% of its business coming from single screens and ROWDY RATHORE was 45% from single screens. The average for the year is 75-25% divide in favour of multiplexes. .

Action Jackson collects 28.50 cr in 3 days

Box Office India Trade Network

ACTION JACKSON has grossed around 28-28.50 crore nett in its first weekend which is the the 13th highest weekend of the year and well short of what it should have done. The business in single screens was decent on Friday, dropped on Saturday but was good to very good on Sunday. Multiplexes are dull.

The film has cost 90 crore plus to release and promote. So the makers really need to recover at least 50 crore as share from the domestic market and for that a 40 crore nett plus weekend is a must and ACTION JACKSON is well below that. The good business on Sunday at single screens gives it a chance to sustain in single screens over the next two weeks but that wont be enough..

The  plus is probably that the film did find an initial audience in some parts as Ajay Devgn is a mass star which made sure the film did not have the low figures that the other releases of November saw.

The two day approx business of ACTION JACKSON is as follows.
Friday - 9,25,00,000
Saturday - 8,25,00,000
Sunday - 11,00,00,000
Total - 28,50,00,000

Action Jackson collects 9.25 cr on Day 1

BO report: Action Jackson strikes, Ungli and Zid completes a week on a dull note
Box Office India Trade Network
ACTION JACKSON grossed 9.25 crore nett approx on day one as it had decent collections in mass circuits but was poor in North India. The better collections came in places like CP, CI, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The first day total is not bad if looked at the point of view of what has happened in the past month or so but looking at the cost and a 3200 screen release the film should be collecting much better numbers. The collections are similar to R...RAJKUMAR released at the same time last year and the break up is also similar with the same circuits doing better.
