DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION had a very good hold on Monday and is a BLOCKBUSTER film. It is also the third biggest hit of the year after DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE and HANUMAN ANSH. The film collected around 20 crore nett on Monday which is a 68% drop from the first day but it was a national holiday. On fair value, its probably a 50% drop or maybe even a little less which is good but the level at which the collections are make it a very good hold.

The film was doing outstanding in North India considering the franchise has out performed in Maharashtra but here North India was matching Maharashtra. However, on Monday, the drop was bigger in the NCR area. Still the collections remain excellent in the North though there will be a divergence from Maharashtra as that will perform better from here on.

The film stands at a huge 192 crore nett after four days and is probably looking at a first week total of 245 crore nett. There are no discounted tickets on Tuesday which means there may not be a jump on Tuesday but its better for holds for the rest of the week and the second weekend.

The film has 2 open week to take full advantage in the second week though it will face competition in the third week. But by then, the film will be well over the 300 crore nett mark and maybe even around 350 crore nett. The results of this film also take up the franchise a notch higher.

DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION continued to be strong on Tuesday as it collected 19 crore nett which takes the film to 211.50 crore nett. The film did not go with the discounted rates but still got benefit as these discounted tickets have changed habits and Tuesday is a preferred day for some of the weekday audience.

The film is probably looking at a first week of 240-245 crore nett depending on the drop today. The business of DRISHYAM 2 will be covered in the first week while in Overseas, it was practically covered in four days. Its going to be about where the film lands on the second Friday as the target for the film looks to be 400 crore nett.

The business will show huge gains on Saturday but that Friday becomes all important as you would rather be jumping up from 15 crore rather than 12 crore. The fact there are no major releases on Friday can mean the film holds very steady from Thursday - Friday and could even show a jump.

The highest Ajay Devgn grosser is TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR and that will be crossed before the end of the second weekend though footfalls will be tough as that film got a huge number of admits from the smaller centres of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION is mainly scoring in the bigger centres especially post the weekend. Also pricing is today pushed to another level for the bigger films.

DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION crossed the 350 crore mark worldwide as it stood at 357 crore in six days. This is the same as the worldwide lifetime total of TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR. Today, it will cross the business of SINGHAM AGAIN, which stands at 370 crore, making DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION the biggest Ajay Devgn film worldwide within one week.

The film is cruising to the 500 crore mark; it may well finish up with a 600 crore total and may even find itself among the top ten original HINDI films worldwide but for that it will have to end at 620 crore. The film has scored across all overseas markets which are led by superb figures in US/Canada and Gulf. The film has already crossed the collections of DRISHYAM 2 which were $7 million and this film could go do double the business of that depending on the hold in the second weekend.

Despite the genre not being the strongest for overseas, its another film which after MIRZAPUR THE MOVIE which shows both markets are pretty much in tandem now though THE VVAAN makes that theory wrong. However, there will always be exceptions.

DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION has done extraordinary business in the first week as it collected 239 crore nett which is the seventh highest collection ever seen for a film in Hindi in India. The films which have collected better than DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION in week one are DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE, PATHAAN, JAWAN, ANIMAL, GADAR 2 and STREE 2.

The weekdays could have done a little better as it looked more closer to 250 crore nett on Monday but that hardly matters much as the film is a huge BLOCKBUSTER and the third biggest HIT of the year. It is cruising to become the highest grossing film in the career of Ajay Devgn and that will happen over the weekend but it will not be the biggest HIT of Ajay Devgn.

The film should hold better on the second Friday as there is no competition and the rise in tickets prices should enable the film to have a good chance of similar collections to Thursday. It could even go up with stronger evening shows. If second Friday is higher than first Thursday, then it will be still be on course for a 400 crore nett total but a drop would mean it is probably out of reach.

The film has done fantastic all over with Mumbai and North India driving the business. The mass circuits have done a little less but that is expected for a film which hardly has commercial elements likes action and music.
