Just when they thought it was a wrap, Sanjay Leela Bhansali flipped the script and returned to the set. Three weeks ago, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal officially wrapped up Love & War as per schedule, but an insider informs mid-day that the perfectionist filmmaker was unhappy with the final product and decided to shoot additional portions of crucial war sequences.

Bhansali will “spend about a week” filming the battle portions at Welcome Maidaan in Goregaon. “He is extremely particular about how the war portions come together because they are integral to the film’s scale and emotional arc. Once he saw the material in the edit, he felt certain battle portions could be enhanced further,” shares a source close to the production.

The insider adds that they are not changing what has already been shot, but are simply “perfecting the sequence”.

The director had earlier shot extensively at Royal Palms in Goregaon during the final schedule of Love & War. Bhansali is personally overseeing the additional shoot, while simultaneously working on the edit.
