Filmmaker Sajid Ali’s next, Heer Ranjha has been the subject of casting speculation ever since it was announced on Valentine’s Day this year. While an earlier report claimed that Rohit Saraf had been locked to play Ranjha, rumours surfaced online suggesting that the actor had begun shooting for the film.

Speaking to us, however, Sajid dismisses both claims, maintaining that the casting process is still underway: “Nothing has been finalised till now... This old news (about Saraf’s casting) has resurfaced; I don’t know out of where.” He adds that the female lead, expected to be a newcomer, has not been locked yet.

Further, Sajid reveals that the film is yet to go on floors and will begin production only in mid-October. “There is nothing much to talk about yet, but we’re starting in mid-October. We will be shooting in Dehradun,” he concludes.
