Lee Cronin's The Mummy rests on a very fantastic premise. The first 15 minutes are gripping and one expects the film to get better and scarier. Sadly, the film falls flat from here on. The characters indulge in senseless stuff. A crucial character raises laughs only for the wrong reason. Also, it takes the blood and gore trend to another level and it is disgusting. Jack Reynor (Charlie Cannon) and Laia Costa (Lari) play the lead parts well. But it is Natalie Grace (Katie) who is the star of the show. Child actor Billie Roy (Maud) comes next. Verónica Falcón (Lari's mother) is embarrassing. May Calamawy (Detective Zaki) leaves a huge mark. Hayat Kamille (Layla's mother) is aptly cast. All in all, Lee Cronin's The Mummy hugely disappoints.
