(Crisp) Movie Review: SCREAM 7 by FENIL SETA

Scream 7 brings back Sidney Prescott and is laced with tense and scary moments, which are the USPs of the series. The film begins on a terrifying note and the middle of the first half has two more nail-biting sequences, which set the mood. The self-aware humour adds to the fun and nostalgia. The film then drops, but picks up in the pre-climax. However, the suspense spoils the show. Also, like the previous films, Scream 7 also gets illogical in some places. Neve Campbell is great and it's a pleasure to have her back. Isabel May does great as Sidney's daughter Tatum. Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy) and Mason Gooding (Chad) are dependable, as expected. Joel McHale (Mark Evans), Asa Germann (Lucas; neighbour), Anna Camp (Lucas' mother), Sam Rechner (Ben; Tatum's boyfriend), Celeste O'Connor (Chloe; Tatum's friend) etc. do well in supporting roles. All in all, Scream 7 is an entertaining watch for franchise fans and, like Scream 6, stands stronger than a few of the recent instalments.
