(Crisp) Movie Review: BHABIJI GHAR PAR HAIN by FENIL SETA

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain rests on a cliched but promising premise. The TV show is known for its clever writing and a similar kind of script would have made for a great flick. Sadly, the film fails to entice as it's hardly funny. Very few jokes make you laugh and they are few and far between. What's shocking and even disappointing is to see toilet humour every 5-10 minutes into the narrative. Instead of amusing the audience, it'll disgust them. Shubhangi Atre impresses the most with her innocence and 'sahi pakde hai' moments. Aasif Sheikh's comic timing is spot on. Rohitashv Gour, who farts every few minutes in the film, is quite disappointing. Vidisha Srivastava gets overshadowed by others. Ravi Kishan and Mukesh Tiwari deliver sincere performances. Others are okay and barely add to the humour. All in all, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain is a poorly made, unfunny flick. Fans of the show should especially stay away from the film, as their love for the TV series will diminish after watching it.
