BORDER 2 showed excellent growth of around 80% on Saturday as it collected 5.50 crore nett taking its overall total to 292 crore nett and it should have a good Sunday as well. The business in the national chains doubled up as PVR/Inox and Cinepolis showed a 98% jump from the previous day. The third weekend should be a healthy 15 crore nett plus driven by the Saturday and Sunday business.
Post pandemic, there have been so many of the bigger hits driven by business from South and the bigger centres but BORDER 2 follows films like GADAR 2, STREE 2, SAIYAARA and DHURANDHAR as its business is largely driven by the Hindi belts. The last named is an exception as both sides were phenomenal. This is not counting the dubbed big ones from South as they were all driven by mass audience in the Hindi belts.
-------------------------------------------
BORDER 2 had a good third weekend as collected over 15 crore nett to take its overall total to 299 crore nett. The film will be hitting the 300 crore nett mark today (third Monday). The third Friday saw only decent collections but the film did very well on Saturday and Sunday. The collections on Sunday were very strong in the Hindi belt with some centres showing jumps of 50% and more.
There were single screens doing double the business they had done on Friday and Saturday combined. The business today is generally limited in single screens but as this film is doing business, the Sundays are getting excellent growth. The film has seen drops on weekdays but it maybe it can be different this week as the collections are limited form the lesser performing circuits.
The film has the comparison of GADAR 2 around its neck but the craze for that was at a different level and not just compared to BORDER 2 but most of the other big films also. The film managed that GADAR 2 type of euphoria on its first Sunday and Monday probably due to the patriotic fervor in the country for Republic Day and getting two days which reminds one of what Hindi cinema used to be is more than good enough.
The collections of BORDER 2 till date are as follows.
Week One - 2,17,61,00,000
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 16,25,00,000 apprx

Third Week - 15,75,00,000 apprx (3 Days)
TOTAL - 2,99,36,00,000 apprx
-------------------------------------------
BORDER 2 dropped 35% on Monday as compared to the Friday which is a better trend as compared to last Monday where the drop was almost 50%. The film collected 2 crore nett on its third Monday which takes the third week total to 17.75 crore nett and the film has now hit the 300 crore nett mark.
There should be a jump on Tuesday as the film is now at the discounted Tuesday rates. The first week was normal on Tuesday while the second Tuesday was at lower rates but not at the rates designated for discounted Tuesdays. This meant last Tuesday was flat but should be different this week.
The third week is probably heading for a week of around 23 crore nett which is pretty good. The lower business was expected in South India but it is the Maharashtra and Gujarat area which has stopped this film being a BLOCKBUSTER especially the latter. The Gujarat/Saurashtra belt will do 30 crore nett which is good but considering business in other Hindi belt areas it could have done better. Mumbai circuit stands at 71 crore nett while Delhi/UP is excellent at 75 crore nett.
