This week saw three releases with HAPPY PATEL KHATARNAK JASOOS, RAHU KETU and ONE TWO CHA CHA CHAA with the only thing really of note is the former is from Aamir khan Productions. The film looks somewhere on the lines of DELHI BELLY which did well in the metros in 2011 but that would be dated cinema now and even then did not register with most of the country.

HAPPY PATEL KHATARNAK JASOOS managed to lead with collections of 1.10 crore nett apprx with a huge contribution from PVR Inox chain which collected 70 lakh of this 1.10 crore nett. It is a much higher than normal contribution but its seen in the past that the small films from this production house tend to have more shows in PVR Inox. The distributor is also PVR which probably leads to a lopsided release. However, within the industry, this sort of ratio leads to other assumptions. The film has collected better in Mumbai and Bangalore which is expected with this sort of content.

RAHU KETU collected around 90 lakhs nett with PVR Inox contributing 40 lakhs nett. This film is a comedy with a similar cast to the FUKREY films but has not found an audience. A film of the same name had released in 1978 which featured big stars like Shashi Kapoor and Rekha and that film had also failed badly at that time.

The third release is ONE TWO CHA CHA CHAA which has negligible collections of maybe around 4-5 lakhs nett. Here, PVR Inox has collected around 2 lakhs nett. This is also a comedy film but obviously the audience did not find any comedy in the trailer.
