BORDER 2 held up very well on Tuesday showing a drop of 30% from Friday as it collected around 20 crore nett which now takes the film to a an excellent 195 crore nett apprx. The film has come through very well on Monday but there does look some post holiday advantage in the collections as some parts which should be in tandem are up and down. However, this should settle down over the next couple of days.
This will mean the film coming down to lower levels over the next two days. The film was super strong in places like Rajasthan and CP, CI on Monday and its these places which will have some post holiday factor in play and are likely to see drops. The collections in Rajasthan on Tuesday were so high that they are only behind the first Tuesday numbers of GADAR 2 and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. These circuits have held far better than even the likes of Delhi/UP and East Punjab and even the drop in Mumbai is less than the North. Eventually, it is going to be North which will lead.
The film has around 195 crore nett up on the board but first week collections will depend on the next two days as it will go down to lower levels and then it will be about the second weekend. The film is going to be stronger in certain regions than others and eventually the lesser side will West Bengal, South and Mumbai circuit. This will show up in collections in the second week.
The drop on Monday is only 30% but the next few days will tell the actual value of this drop and will be higher. The film overall has done very well till date but if this hold had come without a boost in certain circuits, then it would have been even better.
The collections of BORDER 2 till date are as follows.
Friday - 29,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 36,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 52,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 56,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,94,50,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------
BORDER 2 has done outstanding business in Rajasthan in the first five days as it stands at around 13 crore nett and Tuesday is only showing a drop of around 10% from the first day. There is a post holiday factor here but even if we take it a 30% down, it would still be an excellent number for a Tuesday.
The film recorded the highest numbers ever seen in the circuit outside GADAR 2 and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE on Sunday and Monday and then continued on Tuesday. There will a drop on Wednesday but it is still sure to be a good number. The film is heading for a 15 crore nett plus week in Rajasthan which will be higher than the likes of KGF - CHAPTER 2 and JAWAN. It could be the fifth highest first week total ever in the circuit.
The highest first week collection ever is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE with 22 crore nett followed by GADAR 2 at 19 crore nett.
The first five day collections of BORDER 2 in Rajasthan are as follows.
Friday - 1,92,00,000
Saturday - 2,20,00,000
Sunday - 3,31,00,000
Monday - 3,57,00,000
Tuesday - 1,71,00,000
TOTAL - 12,71,00,000
---------------------------------------
BORDER 2 had a drop in business on Wednesday as collections went 35% down but just like the hold on Tuesday was not as strong as it looked, the fall on Wednesday is also not as bad as it looks. The film had had seen very strong holds on Tuesday in some circuits and these had to drop and it happened on Wednesday. BORDER 2 collected 13 crore nett on Wednesday.
The film did not opt for the discounted rates on Tuesday but this has become habitual and the films which don't also tend to see better admits on Tuesday. Basically, the Tuesday had inflated collections from a few angles. The film is around 55% down from the first day on Wednesday and its all equaled up to day one as far as circuits go which probably means this film would have been down around 40% on Monday if it was a normal week.
The film has a very good 207.50 crore nett up on the board so far and it will be around 218 crore nett plus in the first week which is also very good. Despite the drop, the overall number of 13 crore nett is still good and the film just needs to stabilize collections on the Friday and consolidate over the weekend. The collections remain excellent in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan and Bihar.
The collections of BORDER 2 till date are as follows.
Friday - 29,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 36,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 52,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 56,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 13,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,07,50,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------
BORDER 2 has done good business overseas as the first week head for a $4 million plus total which is coming without Gulf. The film will easily surpass the business of GADAR 2 which had a Gulf release and a $1.3 million contribution from that circuit. GADAR 2 did $7.25 million overseas which BORDER 2 should beat without Gulf.
The media reports say the film is banned in Gulf but that is not the case and it was a similar story with DHURANDHAR as they are not banned but just did not get certified to release there. Due to streaming deals, it get certified to release in Gulf or don't release as there is not an option for a ban because it will affect the digital revenue as streaming partners will not be able to screen the film in those countries where it is banned and they ask for a discount.
BORDER 2 has done well in United Kingdom, Australia and Canada while US could have been better though it was affected by a snow storm over the weekend and after.
The worldwide collections stand at 286 crore after six days and it should have a worldwide total of 300 crore after the first week. GADAR 2 was at 377 crore after the first week due to its phenomenal collections in India.
The worldwide collections of BORDER 2 till date are as follows.
India - 251 crore (207.50 crore nett)
Overseas - 35 crore ($3.85 million)
TOTAL - 286 crore
